They were told they could bring in their own alcohol, sodas and water. However, 4 days before the wedding they were told they couldn't bring water & sodas. The guest have to pay for them their!! The bride didn't want certain decorations, but the people said they weren't moving them!! The day of the reception it was very warm in the building and especially in the VIP room upstairs. I went outside to get my bag that had my change of clothes, phone charger, meds etc... I put 4 half drank bottles of water in my bag. When I entered the building a Hispanic woman approached me and asked me what was in my bag. I started to tell her and she grabbed my bag to look inside!! How rude!! She then said I couldn't bring in my water. I asked why. She told me I had to buy the water. I told her I wasn't buying any water when I have my own. I then took my water back to my car and returned to the building. That Gestopo woman came rushing up to me to look in my bag AGAIN!! I told her that I didn't have any water! I left it in my car. She grabbed my bag and started going through it! I told her "it's my clothes, my panties, my socks, my charger & meds!" She let go and said "It's policy." I walked off and went up stairs. I told the wedding party about her. I was so mad! Around 9:00pm several of us noticed it started getting hot inside. I thought it was me, but I saw other people fanning themselves. We all came to the conclusion that the people of the place turned up the ac. They made it so uncomfortable that people were leaving. The place was rented until 1:00am!! I left after 10:30pm. It was too hot in there for me!! Did you know that this place used to be a strip club? Sure did! LOL!! Don't rent this place out.

Selena show was pretty good but Negami was wonderful. Took many of us back to the old school days of tejano music. Special performance from two original members of the Latin Breed. If you ever get a chance to see them, do so. They won't disappoint. The band gave out tickets to another event later this month for those that danced during the show. This art center is hoping to bring bigger and better things to the Eastside of Houston. I'm glad to have come to this event and look forward to all their other events. Check their website for additional information and upcoming events. You won't be disappointed. I recommend this venue.

The place is still very much looking like a church on the outside (the sign is just a banner for now), but the space is very large and there are numerous bathrooms, which are both huge pluses! Overall we had a great time here & recommend the space for all sorts of events!

While I understand the troubles of new ownership,…read morecompletely ghosting a customer after stating that their date is 'on the calendar' is simply not acceptable. My grievances are in regards to a suspicious contract change and sparce communication that resulted in no communication at all for over a month while I continuously reached out. My best guess is this owner got a better offer for the day and did the shady deal of ghosting me even after assuring me I was on their calendar. Once again, if you choose to risk your event, be sure to get a contract and read the fine print. Many promises were made and the verbal expectation was great... This is such a beautiful venue and I truly wish things could have worked out, but I cannot trust this team with my special day.

They kept harassing us for payments when we already paid a huge lump sum. They wanted to nickel and dime us for addons like ice - when they have an ice machine. The price for all-inclusive is not worth it!! Many more reasonable professional venues in the area. Food service during the event was terrible they just threw down random food at the tables and did not ask guests which option they wanted. They removed food when people were not finished eating. They were refusing to offer more than one beverage choice when we agreed there would be two. They also did not cook or provide the rice alternative that was requested for gluten free guests. I had to bring my own rice. Slide show was a disaster. They were given a file with the folder of the slideshow yet proceeded to show other pictures not in the indicated folder that were distorted, rotated the wrong way and not the selected ones. We had to stop it quickly when guests pointed it out and they could not fix the issue. Very embarrassing to say the least and my daughter was very disappointed her child hood pictures and beautiful slide show was not played. Bartender was rude and messed up our slush machine. We requested non-alcoholic slushes instead of margaritas and brought our own mix. The bartender decided to dump alchohol in all the slushes and this was a 15 yr old party. (they did reimburse us for this but the kids did not get their slushes nor our guests) When we asked the bartender why this happened she would not tell us and reported that we mistreated her by asking?? Then we were confronted by the owner after we had numerous issues all night to add to the stress of all the mishaps. It was a disaster. DO NOT RECOMMEND
