I had my wedding here 5/4/13…read more I knew when planning my wedding that a priority for me would be to find a place that included multiple aspects of the event in one. I was busy beginning a new job and my fiance traveled weeks at a time for work, so I wanted to make the planning process as easy as possible. My mother-in-law happened to see Kemah Gardens advertised in a local magazine, but didn't know much about it. We decided to drive by one Sunday afternoon just to see where it was located. On the way there, I began reading reviews about the property and Ciria, the owner. The reviews could not have been better, and I was anxious to see the place. We didn't have an appointment, but thought we would just drive by to check it out, and then try to schedule a time to see it later in the week. As soon as we arrived, Ciria greeted us and invited us to look around. The grounds are beautiful - it is a B&B property on several acres, with deck/arch for ceremonies overlooking a pond. There is a large covered pavillion for reception areas, and everything is nicely kept and landscaped. After looking around, we asked for some information on what services she offered. Ciria can pretty much tailor your package to what you are looking for. We found that the All Inclusive package worked great for us. It included ceremony chairs, arch decor, use of the house for both bridal party and groomsmen to get ready, reception tables/chairs/basic linens, caterer from her list, wedding cake allowance, bartenders, security, clean-up crew, valet, use of champagne glasses/cake cutter, DJ, use of the property for bridal portraits, some day-of coordinating services and probably even more things I've forgotten. This could not have been more perfect for what I was looking for! Everything was in one place. Ciria is very experienced with weddings, and her professionalism is incredible. She has handled all sorts of weather crises, sick bridesmaids, you name it. I felt confident that Ciria would be able to handle anything! We kept in touch many times throughout our engagement, by meeting in person for the payment schedule, to phone calls and emails. By the time our event came around, Ciria was almost like a member of the family. On the day before my wedding, my dad and aunt went by the propery unannounced to see where it was (I had no idea they were doing this - she actually had a wedding going on that day, and I would have told them not to bother her!). Ciria took the time to show them around and explain how she got into the business. I was shocked! She is never too busy for her clients and she will give you all of the attention you need. The wedding was beautiful - timed perfectly with the sunset thanks to Ciria's planning. Everything looked perfect - her staff helped set-up some of the major pieces and my family was able to come early to fill in the rest. She helped keep us on task and I had so many people tell me what a beautiful wedding it was thanks to her help! I stoppped by a few weeks after we returned from our honeymoon to show her pictures and talk about the wedding. She still gave me the same attention as if I was a bride just beginning to plan. You will not be disappointed with Kemah Gardens and Ciria. No matter the size of the event or your budget, Ciria will be able to help you design the wedding of your dreams. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone! One last thing - her staff is top notch. She uses many different vendors to help with the cake, DJ services, bartending, valet and set-up/clean-up staff. My sister told me after the wedding that some of the money from our dollar dance had fallen out of the basket as she was packing it up. A high school student that was helping to clean up noticed a $100 bill had fallen on the floor and handed it to my sister. We were shocked at his honesty and integrity. It just showed what a great business Ciria is running.

We would definitely consider hosting another event there and would recommend it to others. The facility is well set up and can handle its advertised duties, but the real story is the service provided by the staff. The staff and DJ did a great job of accommodating our party. We brought in outside catering, selected our own music, and spent a long time transforming the facility with a different look and feel. In short, we were particular, and the staff worked very well with us and all the parties involved to make it a success. My daughter and I selected music and I built a slideshow. Chris, the DJ (and either the husband of the owner or co-owner, I didn't ask), did a great job of working the music together to make a great program. We selected some music that wasn't traditional for a teeny-boppy party, and he sequenced it beautifully to engage the entire audience - even the grandparents were dancing! We also changed the program slightly during the event and again he kept up very well. If you are bringing in your own music and slideshow, make sure you follow Chris's directions so that you get the results you are looking for. I brought a few different file types of the slideshow in case there were difficulties playing one on their computer, but there weren't . The food and beverage accommodations are good, although we did not prepare food there, nor did we serve alcoholic beverages. We had dining catered by Gina's restaurant of Clear Lake, and they worked well with the Enchanted Gardens staff. We had a few family members arrive after the dinner was cleared, but the staff reheated and served them food. The service we had included sodas, tea, and water. For an additional fee, they served coffee. About the only drawback is that the facility is a little hard to find. We had a few guests that had difficulty finding the place. There are several factors for this; first is its actual location. It is situated in a strip shopping center that doesn't look like it would accommodate an event facility. Secondly, there is not a sign by the road, so finding the exact entrance in the dark was a little challenging. Third, it appears as though some search engines (including google/yelp) appear to show this near FM 517 even though it is near 146 (some 30 minutes the other direction). We learned of this from some very persistent guests. I hope to submit a request to fix this, but I would highly recommend that you include a map to the facility or directions with your invitation.

I've been here once and I WILL be back…read more First of all, I have a toddler who NEVER stops moving. So this was absolutely the best place to take him before nap time. We met up with my mom, sister, and niece so the kids could play. This was fun for both my two year-old and my six year-old niece. I definitely think that it's geared towards the younger ones... which they make perfectly clear. We reserved a spot from 11-1 which was a good time. It was busy and there weren't very many places to sit. People had tables reserved with their stuff which was a little frustrating since they weren't sitting there. The whole time we were there we saw at least two or three tables that had items on them, but no people. I think it would be nice if they had cubbies or containers... some sort of spot where people can leave their stuff and go hang out with their kids without blocking tables for those who plan on actually sitting at them. It's a great place to be able to have some coffee either by yourself or with a friend while your child(ren) play. They do have some small bites you can order as well as snacks for kids. They specify that you are not allowed to bring outside food or drinks. Of course water is the exception here as basically everyone had their giant tumblers as well as smaller ones for the kiddos. You're also allowed to bring things like baby food and whatever toddler snacks you keep in your bag at any given time. While they say no outside for or drinks are allowed, we DID see two moms who each had a toddler and a baby that brought in Chick-fil-A. They both had strollers since they had little bitty babies. So they could've snuck the food in, I don't know. They were already there when I arrived. So they either don't care that much or the two employees I saw were too busy to notice or care. I don't know how many people were working that day, but I into saw two. One was working like crazy trying to get all the drinks and food made for everyone while the other was in the play area trying to keep an eye on everything there. They were both working hard. The lady at the counter was VERY nice and extremely helpful. Especially when I was having a hard time getting the waiver signed online. She was very patient and made our first trip here very pleasant. They do offer party packages for events like birthdays as well as private rooms where you can work for a couple hours while your child plays... for an extra fee, of course. All in all, this place is great. I'm looking forward to our next trip. My coffee was delicious. My son liked his kolache - or hot dog as he called it lol. He had fun. My niece had fun. We will be back!

I see immense value in the upkeep of these places and I know they bring value to the community. The problem with this place is it just kind of sucked as a "museum". There was really no rhyme or reason to the "artifacts" it was a motley crew of random odds and ends that locals had donated. Even the woman working (although I bet she just volunteered), didn't have a lot of info or insight on the displays. There were some random tea pots, a display with some NASA posters, an old Chinese robe, and some ceramic buildings. According to the plaque outside this spot had been the location for a pretty cool archeological find but I didn't see that very prominently displayed inside. The high point was probably just walking around this old church which had been built in 1901 (I'm pretty sure on the date but could be off). It was really gorgeous for being so tiny. There's a small chapel to the left as you walk in and the right is where the displays are, in what probably served as a hall. The building can be rented out for events. Price of admission is free and donations are accepted. If you're even mildly interested in history and old buildings and you happen to be in the area I'd definitely recommend stopping by for a few minutes (trust me, a few minutes is all you'll need). Just keep your expectations semi-low and you might be pleasantly surprised.
