I'm happy to call you after I wake up at 9pm or before I wind down to go to sleep before 8am if you'd like, but out of consideration, I avoided calling you during inconvenient times. I've never cancelled an appointment that I can recall, so I would be interested in the date that I cancelled. If I did, which I find hard to believe, it was definitely with more than reasonable notice. It's comparing apples to oranges, though. I'm sure you could easily fill the spot I cancelled. I can't call and make another appointment with a few hours notice. I'm sorry that those things happened but ultimately, I was unable to get my hair done over many months with your salon. It would have been stellar customer service to try to accomodate me after cancelling on me twice without me having to wait another two months (which would have been a total of four months since my original appointment) or at least offered me some compensation before I wrote a review. The fact that you didn't isn't necessarily a terrible thing, I just have no incentive to make an appointment when I have zero confidence it will actually be kept.

I moved to NYC a few years ago and still drive the 3.5 hours to Shrewsbury at least once a year to get my hair cut and colored by Katie. Her balayage technique makes my hair look amazing and it grows out perfectly so I can usually make it the full year before coming back for my next visit. (even hairdressers in Brooklyn when I've needed a trim have commented on how nice the color is) The vibes are impeccable and after watching her team work with other clients in such thoughtful ways I'd also trust any one of them to do my hair if Katie was ever unavailable. Run don't walk to this salon for your next haircut. You won't regret it.

(Close to 40 and we are talking spiral perms, when they were popular and my mom only wanted the best) What Santo offers is a beautiful salon, with a lovely crew, right from the front desk. He's a good listener. And hair is his passion, he is so good. As a side note, Santo styled my moms wig while she had cancer, also cut her hair in the nicest way. I'll always be grateful for his kindness. He is as classy as you could ever get. No wonder why he's booked solid all the time.

It was my first time going to Tia's as it will certainly be my last…read more I came into Tias with hopes that she will help me dye my hair from blonde to silver. During the process, it seemed promising as she had contacted me via text to book and confirm an appointment. I was excited to get my hair done by her. Unfortunately, the outcome was terrible. I left the salon first with wet hair, because she charges to style your hair. So if you choose to not let her style your hair and pay for it, expect to leave the salon with hair as wet as a puppy. Since I left with my hair wet, I couldn't see much of the color, and it was not until I returned home that I saw how poorly she did. From the outside, my hair looked good. The color was nice. But when I looked closely, I saw beneath, how uneven she dyed my hair and even better, how blotchy some spots were. My hair was three different colors, gray, blonde and black (as my roots are black and the blonde was my previous color) I messaged her back and told her I liked the color but I was confused as to why it was so uneven. She tried to blame it on her assistant (who only washed my hair) and told me I would have to come back. I understood that I would have to come back to get the true silver that I had desired, but I did not know I would have to come back to have even color in my hair. She tried to brush it off as if it was okay. I gave it a day before I thought about it, kept starring at my hair and became frustrated. I then contacted her again as she told me I can come in to fix that spot or I can come in for highlights. First, I did not want to come in to fix "that spot" that was uneven because it was more than one spot, it was the majority of my hair beneath. I did not trust her to touch my hair at all. Second, even though she offered me highlights, why would I pay her to give me highlights when I don't want highlights? On top of that, eventually she had someone else reply to me on her behalf via text message as she copied and pasted the same response to me twice. She tried to tell me it was the color, but the color was not the problem, as I had told her repetitively. On top of that, she tried to send me a before and after picture of how good my hair looked from the outside, completely disregarding how it looked beneath. So I asked her for a refund and after going back and forth she told me she doesn't give refunds after I paid her $130 plus $20 for tip. It was not until realized how poor her service was that a few locals told me I am not the first client to complain, I may just be the first client to speak up about it. So after I paid her a total of $150 to ruin my hair, I had to go get it done elsewhere and even go to Sally's to try to fix it myself. Even though she told me I can come back for "highlights" or to "re-tone" my hair after she had unevenly toned it, why would I trust her to touch my hair again?

Straight,…read moreblunt cut, originally chin level when I lopped off a ponytail for one of those donation sites, it had grown out to my shoulders and because my hair has a lot of natural body and some wave and curl to it, I was getting a very triangular shape. I had no idea what to do with it, other than grow it out again, but I was tired of that cycle, too, since I've done it several times in the past decade. It's also going pretty grey in spots and I'm not sure another 'tail would work for those wig organizations because of that. I needed someone to just make a decision about my hair and cut it. I didn't care what the results were, what the style was, anything at all. I just needed something different. My husband half-jokingly suggested I take his clippers, buy some gel and go for the Annie Lennox look and I was actually OK with that. Christina took on the challenge. She chose a layered look that is both blowdryer and product-optional (YAY!). It's fabulous, super easy to take care of and suits me well! I would have never thought of layers and I'm glad she chose this cut.
