It was my first time going to Tia's as it will certainly be my last. I came into Tias with hopes that she will help me dye my hair from blonde to silver. During the process, it seemed promising as she had contacted me via text to book and confirm an appointment. I was excited to get my hair done by her. Unfortunately, the outcome was terrible. I left the salon first with wet hair, because she charges to style your hair. So if you choose to not let her style your hair and pay for it, expect to leave the salon with hair as wet as a puppy. Since I left with my hair wet, I couldn't see much of the color, and it was not until I returned home that I saw how poorly she did. From the outside, my hair looked good. The color was nice. But when I looked closely, I saw beneath, how uneven she dyed my hair and even better, how blotchy some spots were. My hair was three different colors, gray, blonde and black (as my roots are black and the blonde was my previous color) I messaged her back and told her I liked the color but I was confused as to why it was so uneven. She tried to blame it on her assistant (who only washed my hair) and told me I would have to come back. I understood that I would have to come back to get the true silver that I had desired, but I did not know I would have to come back to have even color in my hair. She tried to brush it off as if it was okay. I gave it a day before I thought about it, kept starring at my hair and became frustrated. I then contacted her again as she told me I can come in to fix that spot or I can come in for highlights. First, I did not want to come in to fix "that spot" that was uneven because it was more than one spot, it was the majority of my hair beneath. I did not trust her to touch my hair at all. Second, even though she offered me highlights, why would I pay her to give me highlights when I don't want highlights? On top of that, eventually she had someone else reply to me on her behalf via text message as she copied and pasted the same response to me twice. She tried to tell me it was the color, but the color was not the problem, as I had told her repetitively. On top of that, she tried to send me a before and after picture of how good my hair looked from the outside, completely disregarding how it looked beneath. So I asked her for a refund and after going back and forth she told me she doesn't give refunds after I paid her $130 plus $20 for tip. It was not until realized how poor her service was that a few locals told me I am not the first client to complain, I may just be the first client to speak up about it. So after I paid her a total of $150 to ruin my hair, I had to go get it done elsewhere and even go to Sally's to try to fix it myself. Even though she told me I can come back for "highlights" or to "re-tone" my hair after she had unevenly toned it, why would I trust her to touch my hair again? read more

Tia is a hair goddess! It was my first time really dyeing my hair professionally and I was recommended Tia's Hair Studio. My first session was back in October, I was so pleased! She was able to manage my hair texture without doing any damage to it. I returned on April 10th to go a little lighter.... I am so obsessed! I can't stop looking at my hair! Horrible customer service, we had to wait over 20 minutes just to make an appointment. It wasn't even busy.

It was my first time going to Tia and I was disappointed. I like the haircut however she completely screwed up my appointment. She wrote it down at a different time period in her agenda and forgot that I made the appointment for 2 people. In the end, she understood I was right about the time period, but my friend had to reschedule his appointment. It's probably because they still use an old fashioned agenda to write down appointments but it was frustrating to be treated as if we were lying. Also, the price list says 15 dollars and up for a haircut. She charged me 30$, no washing, no styling, just a simple haircut. That's a pretty big up from 15 dollars. I have been getting my hair cut from Tia for years and I will not trust anyone else to cut it. Tia always knows exactly what I want and helps me style my hair in different ways whenever I want to switch it up. She is so knowledgeable with hair care and has great suggestions for hair products. My daughter just had her hair done by Tia about 2 weeks ago. She has this wavy hair, not curly and not straight, that no one ever has seemed to cut in a way that flattered her and worked with her wave. It's been 2 weeks, and she has not had a single bad hair day. Each day she gets up and showers and fluffs her hair, and it has looked great. My daughter is in her late teens and has despaired of ever finding an attractive hair style. Tia's has done a lot to help her self-esteem in the past 2 weeks. i'm surprised there isn't already reviews for this place!! Tia's Hair Salon is Tia's living room turned into a salon. Tia does all things hair while her sister, Kathy does hair too but i think she mainly does eyebrows and makeup. The location isn't the greatest and parking isn't all that great either, but its definitely worth coming here! they are the sweetest funniest and most down to earth sister duo! Kathy does a great great job on eyebrows and she is extremely talented in makeup, tia does a great job with hair cuts, coloring, and styles! it does get quite busy here at times! i think they are closed sunday and monday, take reservations tuesday, wednesday, and thursday? and walk-ins only on friday and saturday.. this place is definitely worth it.. i am so glad i found out about this place.. its now my go to place for hair and eyebrows!!! read more

A few months ago, I scheduled an appointment for a haircut. Salon called me the day of my appointment asking me to come in earlier because the earlier appointment cancelled. I came in and expected a haircut that was worth the price I paid. Tia spent at most 10-15 mins on my hair and charged me $25 for some layers. I walked out of there feeling like my hair was barely touched. I felt like she rushed the cut just to close early. Will not be going back. read more

I love Tia and her work and I think she is amazing. I was so happy when she got her salon! However, the parking is not ideal and it gets packed fairly quickly (because it is a very busy business). If you're getting your eyebrows done (because it is one of the best places in town) there's no use in making an appointment. Just go. Sometimes you're the first one there, sometimes there are three or four people in front of you. I will say however, that I am not a fan of her sister Kathy when it comes to eyebrows. She often talks on her phone while doing your eyebrows and is a bit dismissive when you tell her how you want your eyebrows done. Honestly, everyone's eyebrows who go there -- look the same. But it's the perfect eyebrow shape. However for people who like thicker eyebrows, I would not go to Kathy I would wait for Tia because Kathy is often preoccupied with her phone. read more
