Doody of The Electric Lion is phenomenal. He came to our house on short notice on the weekend and showed up exactly when he said he would, diagnosed the issues quickly, and did a great job of explaining exactly what the problem was and how he would fix it. He has decades of electrical experience and it shows. I will absolutely use him again in the future, and will recommend him to anyone I know. Thank you! read more

Not trustworthy. Let's start with the electrical license. He's listed as a sole proprietor and he does not appear to have workers comp because supposedly he has no employees, yet he showed up with someone else who did most of the work. His license info can be found here: https://www2.cslb.ca.gov/onlineservices/checklicenseII/LicenseDetail.aspx?LicNum=%20574671 I was quoted $190 for the service call to: 1) reconnect a light that had been disconnected, 2) check the connection on a light some painters had taken down, then reconnected, probably incorrectly, 3) check loose wiring on another light. Nothing complicated for an experienced electrician. He indicated the job could likely be done for $190 if there wasn't something complicated. He was here about an hour, during which he spent time lecturing me on electrical principles, and checking out my pomegranate tree because he wanted pomegranates while his assistant did the work. He was not able to get the light that had been disconnected working again, he blamed it on the fixture, but the problem is, he didn't test the fixture. The one other light the painters reconnected probably incorrectly he did fix. I should hope so... He charged me $320 for the visit (he said it would normally be $390 and told me he was giving me a deal), and on the invoice he listed fixing connection to the pool equipment (no, there was not a problem with the pool electrical), and "running power" from the panel to the light switch (no, wiring was already there, just a reconnect). I have no idea why people think he is honest and competent. Some even mentioned patient. He said he was wasting his time with the light he couldn't get to work. That is not what I would characterize as patient. read more

We are extremely grateful for Doody, the owner of The Electric Lion. On short notice, he came out to diagnose an issue that had stumped other electricians. Doody is 100% honest and immediately pointed out that his competitor's quote was outrageously high and included unnecessary work. Doody's expertise and integrity were evident throughout the process. He is not only highly skilled but also a genuinely nice and funny guy, which was reassuring during a stressful time when we thought all of our appliances would fry. He patiently and thoroughly explained his findings to my parents and ultimately charged a very reasonable rate. We will only use the Electric Lion going forward! read more

Made an appointment, Never showed, never called. You decide if this is someone you trust.

Stop looking for another electrician. Doody is who you need. Prompt, punctual, very honest, and knowledgeable. Once I called to request service and after listening to me, just told me I didn't need an electrician. He gave me several alternate ideas on the phone and they worked out. After saving me time and money, he refused to even accept payment for the "phone consult". You won't regret calling Doody at the Electric Lion. read more
