My reason for seeking out several other appraisers was to vet the one recommended by my real estate agent (also highly rated). It turned out that everything was on the level and in the same price ballpark so I opted to honor my agent's referral. Had I not had a matching equivalent I would have gone with Mark and Pride Property, hands down. Their full inspection, including infra red (strongly recommended additional "search" behind the walls, ceilings, and floors) was similar at around $600 (i.e., reasonable).
