A decent place to have dinner if you don't want to spend a lot of money but would still like to sit…read moredown in a restaurant. The portions are quite small, but what do you expect when most of the main courses are only €9,90? There are always daily specials written on the chalkboard and the staff is friendly. It's not the best meal you will ever have, but for the price, I think it is quite good.

This is the restaurant to come to if you want to have a full 3 course dinner at a reasonable price…read more I came here with friends and for a 3 course dinner plus a drink we each payed around €26, really not bad at all. The food is good and they have quite a few options to choose from. Just look out on the menu for certain options that are "add-ons" to the set price - for instance the steak was +€4 to the set menu price. The portion size is very reasonable, food was good, and service was friendly. You can also book for a larger group and have a dinner party in the upstairs area, only be aware that when you come with a big group of people you get a different menu that has less choices on it! This was a surprise to us, but they have a special groups menu as opposed to just ordering off of the normal menu. Still good food, just slightly less choices.

My father and I were in Haarlem for an evening once and decided to treat ourselves to a nice…read moreevening in this tiny restaurant he had heard about. I was disappointed. The owner is quite rude. My father likes to receive advice on what to drink, and when we were asked if we wanted an aperitif my dad simply asked "what would you suggest to us?" . In a tiny place without menu on drinks where the owner pride himself to welcome customers in his "home" we received the elegant answer of " am I suppose to tell you what to get now?" Worst first impression I ever had. My dad certainly knew what to get, but without a menu we just wanted to hear what the owner had to offer and to give us some idea...we went for a classic prosecco. Also, it looks all fancy (the tiny place is indeed divinely decorated and is full of personality) but the food served is not worth the price. It seems to be serving a mix of French cuisine with a twist....or whatever - but it's really not the best food I had ( definitely not for that price range!). But the overall service ruined it. Quite snobbish.

They had bar snacks (mostly peanuts) and nice bitterballen from the kitchen that closed at 8:30pm. It's a good place to meet for a midweek catch up or formal informal meeting eg business or recruitment type conversations. Slick and big glass windows, It lacked a bit of cosiness or edge for me. I'm not sure if try it on a Friday night but hope I'm wrong.

I have to mention, however, that the service was bitchy. I was only getting a coffee, so why would you scowl at me? Really, I would try the place again if I was going to sit and order more than a coffee, but otherwise, I'll just go across the street to Starbucks to get served with a smile, thank you.

We stopped in to grab a quick sandwhich while touring around Amsterdam. I ordered the chicken and avocado sandwich. Great sandwich with fresh ingredients, I particularly love avocado on everything. The place is pretty small inside, seems more of a grab and go type of spot, however, they do have a bartop against the window which we sat to eat at. This seating area only fits about 4-5 people if I remember right. If you are in the area looking for a sandwich or for a cute photo op, check it out!
