The Dyffryn Arms - better known locally as "Bessie's" - is surely one of the very few pubs in the country which still serves its beer straight from the cask to the jug to the glass.It really is like stepping back to pre-war Britain.
The little pub is situated in the hamlet of Pontfaen in the very picturesque Gwaun Valley. Without wishing to place a curse, Bessie has recently turned 80 and is more deserving of a retirement than any other landlady/man in the country. Go there now.
