Walking through the door you can feel the charisma of the place with a proper village pub feel without the feeling of " are you local" In the winter months the pub has a gorgeous open log file and importantly is warm throughout. The passion for running and keeping a good pub going is evident not only by the cleanliness and the "feel" of the place but the meticulous attention to the level of beer served within. There have been moments where a flat pint has been taken away and re pulled as it wasn't up to standard. For those who like their bitters the range is always changing and the staff are knowledgeable on whats what and can be a fine place to expand your bitter drinking horizons. I cant comment on the smoking area however the games room is just that, nice and functional without that feeling of being tacked on and although out of the way not so much that its segregated to not have some of the vibe come from a good night happening. I've not even mentioned the Indian restaurant out the back which is second to none. So now onto the bad points, the jukebox has that much of a vast selection you'll find that your songs have already played by the time you get to select them all. With the amount of bitters changed it would be nice to see perhaps the same on beers, perhaps a guest lager just now and again. Then again at the time of writing this Carlsberg is only.....2.50 so how can i really be critical of the beer. Yes perhaps a bit touching at straws. There were, however, a number of reserved tables which remained empty through the evening, so it seems like they had a few no-shows.
