    Psunami cocktail from The Roof. | Mon-Thurs 5-11pm, Fri-Sat 5-midnight.

My recent stay at the Durham was a pleasant one! Located in the heart of Durham, this hotel sets you back in the 60s era. The storefront with high pillars connects to the small lobby, which opens up to a full service restaurant. The rooftop is a great sweeping view of the small town skyline and a perfect setting for a beautiful sunset. Libations crafted in this hotel are all made from local ingredients and vendors. The sleeping quarters offer spacious resting serenity equipped with comfortable beds, crisp linens, and technology for daily use. Wifi is available, and there are no USB connections on the hardware in the rooms. The staff I encountered during my stay were fabulous, from the team at the rooftop restaurant and bar to the in-house hospitality service (fresh towels and clean linens daily, room service is tidy) and daily interaction with the front desk and concierge, their welcoming was warm. Valet is no longer available, but a parking garage is located offsite and only a few steps away. Weekend parking is free, and the street parking is also an option, although limited around the vicinity. Stop by the first-floor coffee bar for your morning locally sourced brew and breakfast pastry! I did knock off a star specifically for the space in the 1st floor restaurant. While the era and vibe are appreciated, I hope Management will visit the condition of the furniture and work on replacement and upkeep. The seats are weathered leather and dated, it needs to be cleaned and conditioned. The stains are immensely off-putting. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely keep The Durham as an option when in the area, especially if alternative AirBnBs are limited.

This review is strictly for their lobby restaurant. First off the space is beautiful and I find it to be so impressive everytime I see it. I'm a sucker for MCM architecture and design and the Durham Hotel does not disappoint. I think their restaurant is a great spot to grab a tasty dinner before a DPAC show (since they aren't crazy crowded and the service is fast) or grab a coffee if you are looking for a spot to work for a few during the day. I recently went in for an early dinner and the service was great. I tried their farm salad, their trout, and chicken. The trout was more like a salmon, it must have been the type of trout it was. It was really tasty and presented beautifully. The chicken was also spot on. I usually don't order chicken while I'm at restaurants but theirs was super flavorful and delicious. The salad was just okay to me, idk it didn't taste as lovely as the description sounded. Their wine and cocktail list was great and overall it was a lovely spot to spend some time at!

My company has a corporate account with The Durham. I had to book a last minute trip to Durham, and when I called to book a room, all of the rooms were reserved. Rather than turning me away, Elijah gave me a double upgrade to a deluxe suite without additional charges. What great customer service! Upon my arrival, I was warmly greeted and within a matter of minutes got the keys to my room. The room was spacious and very nice. Outside of my room window, I could see downtown Durham and the Duke Clinical Research Institute. The hotel room is conveniently located within walking distance to many fine restaurants. My office was also only 4 minutes away by foot. On the 6th floor is the rooftop bar. Definitely check this out if you're in the area! The staff at this hotel were all very friendly and professional. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to a future visit.

If it's a baseball game, you can see fireworks from ur room as the rooftop! This hotel is so cute and the staff is just amazing! Seriously, everyone I came in contact with was extremely helpful! The rooms are retro and the windows make it so open and bright. However there are room darkening curtains so if you want to sleep late or mid afternoon nap... it's possible. The restaurant has some pretty cool entrees. The veggie rice...yum!! I am a cream brûlée kind of sore and the only reason I gave this review 4.5 stars instead of five is because they don't have regular yellow mustard & the maple crème brûlée with bacon was way too sweet. Like diabetes, running through my veins, sweet.lol! however, they more than make up for it with the chocolate chip cookie with a crested sea salt on the top. Oh my goodness.!! This boutique hotel is great! Oh, I almost forgot the rooftop is a gem!! Don't miss a moment here!!

I decided on a staycation at The Durham Hotel to start out Memorial Day Weekend. I arrived and decided to leave my car out front at the valet area because no one came out after 5 minutes, but the front desk took my keys at check in and handled it perfectly. Bree greeted me with so much energy, I couldn't help but be excited. The check in was great and Bree was amazing!! My suite was great!! Very spacious, very clean and so comfortable!! I had a corner suite and there were ceiling to floor windows along the entire wall. Flat screen TVs in the living room and bedroom The bathroom was perfect, I absolutely loved the large shower and the amenities in the bathroom. No one ever provides a full bottle of lotion, let alone good lotion!! It's a big deal. The bedroom was very spacious. And comfortable. The staff was amazing, every time I called the front desk or stopped by. I went to the rooftop to enjoy drinks and the ambiance. The bar tenders were great and were able to make what I liked. I can't wait to go back again!! Great hospitality!

Great check in process provided by super front desk staff. Excellent amenities in a thoroughly enjoyable, renovated & reimagined nicely updated hotel. Comfortable, quiet, and most importantly clean room with good bedding and cozy bed. Valet filled up fast on a sat night with a bustling roof top restaurant but we were well taken care of. Excellent coffee shop in the lobby and great fresh grounds delivered to the door for in room brewing. Prompt courteous valet.

A truly terrible hospitality experience. I valet parked my vehicle at the Durham on Saturday night. 2 hours into my stay, they interrupted an event I was hosting to inform me that an unknown person side-swiped my vehicle and knocked off my sideview mirror. I was told that there are no cameras in their valet area and that they have no idea who was responsible for the damage. Accidents happen, but the response has been remarkably inhospitable. I Ubered home that evening and requested that my vehicle not be moved while the mirror was still hanging from its wires. I did not want any further damage to my car. There was no attempt to pay for the Uber ride, and when I arrived the next day, I was informed that they had moved my car to another parking deck. When asked why they moved it, the General Manager blamed their evening manager for not having relayed the information. Today, I spoke with a member of their management company. The woman on the phone was unprofessional, combative and had no desire to listen to anything I had to say. It is unsurprising that issues like this occur with such poor upper management. 1. Do something about your valet parking situation. When guests pay you to park a vehicle, it should be parked AWAY from the general public. And if you can't manage that, you need cameras. 2. Train your management team better. Their flippant attitudes and willingness to shirk responsibility by blaming other team members are embarrassing and unprofessional. Accidents happen. It's how you respond that makes great businesses. There are far too many great hotels in this area for an establishment like The Durham to conduct itself this way. Do not recommend it. I've been a fan since it opened, but I will not be returning until the property is under new ownership.

We had my sister's birthday brunch there this morning and it was wonderful! Peacock met us outside and helped my sister in [she is in a wheelchair]. The hostess was welcoming, and our server, Mars, was a true delight. The Bellinis were yummy and all of the food was delicious! The portions were large and the plating was beautiful and the taste was on pointe for everything. We ordered bananas foster pancakes, stuff French toast, and breakfast fried rice. Thank you, Durham Hotel Restaurant!

How have I not stayed in this hotel before now? Oh my WOW, my stay here has got to be THE best hotel stay I've ever had. Not kidding. And I spend a lot of nights traveling for work in all kinds of hotels and lodgings across the country. First of all, the local color and flavor of Durham is in every fiber of this place. Literally. The cover on the bed is made from NC-made denim! A nod to the area's textile past; the personalized coffee service in the morning from freshly ground Counter Culture Coffee?! WHAT?! I thought places that have a pillow menu were great, but that has nothing on this place; there was even a tin of Burt's Bees hand salve on the bedside table! I slept like a newborn baby in that bed. Where I lad my head is exactly how I found myself the next morning. Whatever the secret to that bed is, I want it in my house. When I arrived, I valeted my car (which was a breeze), check-in was simple and every staff member was over-the-top courteous and genuinely seemed glad to see me. I know the fake hospitality face and smile very well and I saw it, but they took such care of me, I did not care one bit. I did not eat at the restaurant and I was not able to visit the rooftop bar due to a private event to which I was not invited (how dare they!) but I'm looking forward to coming back again.

    Peach Bellini's for the table!
