I have always wanted one of these and to make it myself at my fav restaurant was a bonus. I arrived early to eat but met Lori the owner of Rare Bird Art Studio upon walking in and decided to just go in and chat with her til the class started. Such a great lady with the perfect personality to teach art classes. The whole process was so much fun. There were 20 of us and it was just like being a kid with cooler art supplies and gourmet nomz. Even though my 2 friends could not make it due to last minute rescheduling of class because of tropical storm Debi, I still enjoyed the whole event and highly recommend it. Creating art while eating truffle fries is how I roll!

The staff were attentive and friendly, walking around to each table to check on each person and guide them along the process. The work areas were large and it was nice sound with others to guide and help each other also. There really wasn't an overall explanation on how to do the monogram on the box so we struggled with this until a staff member came by and guided us on the process but by then all but 1 monogram was on a box. Wish there would have been just a bit more overall instructions on this is how we put on and take off the monogram. Overall the experience was lovely and I think everyone really enjoyed it. Great place to have a party or come take part in a workshop.

Walking in, it looks messy, but hey, it's a workshop so it should be messy looking! A clean workshop isn't a workshop...lol. They had ewctangular tables lined up through the shop that accommodated like 8 people a piece. They setup supplies and everything the kids would need to build, personlaize, and paint their wooden boxes. They walked everyone through the process at the same time and took the time to check on everyone during the process. They allowed us to bring in food and drinks for the party so their was a mixture of home made and store bought stuff. As far as I could tell, the kids all enjoyed it and so did the parents who also participated. It was definitely a neat experience and something thatwould be fun for younger families and maybe even a corporate outing or something similar. The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our time there. For most of our group, it was our first time. You start by grabbing your piece, deciding on a design, choosing your colors, then you paint your design, and add the number of layers that they recommend. There were so many great pieces to choose from that were all reasonably priced. During the time we were there it was busy, but easy to move around the shop and quiet enough for our group to all chat while we worked. When we finished painting, they collected our pieces and we paid. I just got my finished piece and I love it!! Great experience!

Such a fun time here. My mom and I had been hanging on to a gift card for the longest (like at…read moreleast two years +), so FYI they don't expire. Keith and Megan were very helpful. It was a full class, if you need help they're willing to help. Maybe one more assistant so these two don't get overwhelmed or someone does feel like they can't receive assistance. We played a little game of heads/tails for fun & someone won a painting. Birthday people also were able to take home an additional painting. My mom and I opted to do candle making beforehand, so get there at least thirty minutes before to pick your smells, labels, etc. They have at least 15+ scents to chose from and you can select multiple, we both selected three. They preselect your seats. This location is not BYOB, if it's alcohol, but there is a bar with wines, seltzers, and beers. They do not have any nonalcoholic beers/wines, but there is sodas. I was able to bring my nonalcoholic beer from home, though because no alcohol content but the plaza does not allow you to bring alcohol from home. The two hours wasn't quite enough time to finish my piece, but they weren't super strict on rushing us out. They have cubbies to put your things, wash station, drying station for paint, and they accept walk in's.

My child came home and presented me with such a beautiful painting and we immediately hung it on the wall in her bedroom. I would definitely enroll her again. Also I have booked a birthday party for her to do at home with her friends. Can't wait to see the joy in all her friends faces when they finish their painting. It brings the children as well as the parents such joy to see how happy and proud they are with the finished painting. We love, love, love the Color Express.

There was no preparation before hand so the wax was not melted when it came time to pour. We had to wait while it melted. We ended up leaving without our candles. We had to return to pick them up in a couple days. We were told that they would be ready upon our return. They were not.

I bought a Groupon for a shattered glass art workshop. The description on the website states…read more"explore techniques to enhance texture, color and depth". I emailed the studio and was instructed to come to an open studio session. It was free style. The staff was polite, but it is not a workshop. I thought I would learn the craft, including how to mix resin. If I had known that it is studio time with supplies added I would have found a picture, sketched it at home on my own 11x14 canvas (which is $15 extra) and brought in other media to complete my project. Example: twigs and leaves brought from home and make glass birds to sit on the branch. I know they don't make much off of Groupon, but I use Groupon to try new places, not for the cheap deal. A true workshop would have resulted in my repeat business.
