The classes are reasonably relaxed and very kid-friendly with the youngest, letting little ones get introduced to dance in a welcome way. More advanced classes branch off into specific styles and levels of skill, adding to the variety of classes available. These lessons all culminate in the big annual recital in June, where everyone shows off their skills. Additional classes lead to additional costumes and costs though, so just know that it can get expensive. Since I've only got a very little one, I haven't hit any restrictive cost paywalls. But she loves dancing and the classes are so well geared towards her age group that we'll surely be staying for a long time.

My daughter was in Ms. April's 3 y/o combo class this year. Ms. April is absolutely terrible. She…read moredoesn't take her work seriously at all. None of the girls in either of her classes I observed know their recital pieces. And April was too busy to attend their last classes. I've never seen her instruct the girls to rehearse without following her lead, but she seems indignant that they are unable to perform independently. And, in case it's not enough that she's unprofessional, she behaves very inappropriately. She has been extremely impatient with my child and has repeatedly insisted that my child needs mental health intervention, though I've obtained a professional opinion to the contrary. So April has resorted to belittling my child when the opportunity presents itself. I didn't waste the time reporting this to the owner, because she's April's aunt and, as such, is undoubtedly aware of April's limitations. This school holds itself out to be top notch, but in our experience, that designation is limited to the cost of attendance.

When you walk in you're greeted by name. Victoria is always available to address any questions or concerns that may arise. My daughter has had several teachers over the years depending on which classes she took and the staff is amazing! Each take the time to help the children individually and push them at their performance level. Even after a move to Tampa several years ago, I still make the weekly drive to allow my daughter to stay at Victoria's! To respond to the previous person: As with everything, there are reasons behind it. Having been a backstage mom for several years, I can tell you it is impossible to memorize hundreds of students, their parents, and their custody arrangements. They dismiss after the recital by song, with police escort. Only those having a matching wristband to their child is able to pick up the child. The children love being backstage, and it isn't as stressful on the children as it is the parents. The recital process is thoroughly explained when you choose whether or not to participate. It is not mandatory. As far as the fees go: in any extra-curricular activity, there are fees and extras needed aside from program fees. We love it there!

I would whole heartedly not recommend this dance studio to anyone looking for toddler dance…read moreclasses. My two year old was dismissed early from her second ballet class for not participating. Instead of the teacher addressing me appropriately about the issue, she loudly shamed my two year old for not participating in her class in front of the whole waiting room of parents. Instead of a fun and engaging atmosphere, Ms. Sarah's class was dry and created a harsh atmosphere. This instructor should not be teaching toddlers after shaming my daughter and dismissing the students for lack of participation. Dance camp should be fun and engaging and my two year old should want to be there. As a paying customer we were instead instructed to leave in front of a waiting room full of parents and siblings. I will definitely not be returning to this establishment at any point. Two year olds shouldn't be shamed in front of adults and other children. As an educator myself, I'm disgusted at the interaction between the instructor and toddler students. Not all kids deserve a gold medal, but they also don't deserve to be shamed by an adult that doesn't even know their name. This situation could have been handled appropriately in a multitude of different ways. Absolutely ridiculous.

Girls today are not the anorexic type looking ballerinas. (By the way my daughter is a not over weight size 3/5). She was coming home crying all the time and she wouldn't tell me why. Now I have found out why and it makes me sad that my daughter had to endure years of verbal abuse and embarrassment in front of everyone there at the dance studio. She finally quit and is now telling her story. Other girls have also quit recently so my daughter can't be the only one. This is shocking and appalling behavior for an adult to treat children this way, plus paying them $400 a month tuition! Beware of this dance studio and don't send your precious daughters there!
