I ate the old fashioned first and the taste immediately threw me off, as it was fried in old oil, or something had been fried in the oil that gave off a funky taste. The donut was passable, a bit on the dry side and not as good as the other old fashioned donuts I've tried in Greenville. The chocolate filled eclair was better, notably because it had a delightfully crisp crust on the bottom. However, it still had the funky oil taste, but was much better than the old fashioned. My son loved his frosted sprinkle donut as dessert, so he was happy. I had a tiny bite of it and was put off by the same weird old oil taste, though. The plain cake donut, ate early in the morning, was a revelation. It's hard to find a perfectly executed cake donut- subtly crispy on the outside, soft and sweet on the inside.
