Review Highlights - Granny’s Donuts

I haven't tried all the donut shops in Sulphur Springs yet, but out of the 3 that I have, Granny's reigns supreme.

We stopped by Wendy's after a rodeo, just hoping for a quick, comforting bite before our hour-long…read moredrive home. It was 9:20 PM--40 minutes before closing--so we thought we'd be walking into something familiar... something dependable. Instead, it felt like stepping into a memory that was quietly disappearing. Wendy's has never just been a fast-food place to me. It's woven into some of the happiest, simplest moments of my life. After high school football games, it was where we all went--laughing, replaying the night, sharing fries, and always ending it with a chocolate Frosty. Those nights felt endless back then, full of friendship and joy. Even before that, my very first Wendy's was just outside our neighborhood. My siblings, my friends--we would walk there together, just for Frostys. No phones, no distractions--just pure, simple happiness. It's one of the most cherished memories of my childhood. So walking into this location... and seeing it like this... honestly hurt. The place was completely empty except for three teenagers working. When we tried to order, we were told there were no Frostys. No chili. They had already started shutting everything down because it was "close to closing." At 9:20 PM. A Wendy's... without Frostys. It sounds small, but in that moment, it felt like something much bigger was missing. Like a piece of those memories--those traditions--was just gone. The service felt indifferent, the food we did get was poor, and the entire experience carried this quiet sense of neglect. Not just of the restaurant, but of what it used to represent. It's devastating to see a place that once meant so much--full of life, laughter, and connection--reduced to this. Places like Wendy's aren't just about food. They're part of people's stories, their growing up, their families, their friendships. And to see that slowly slipping away because of poor service and lack of care... it's honestly heartbreaking. I never thought I'd feel emotional over a fast-food restaurant--but the thought that one day you might not be able to walk into a Wendy's and order a Frosty... that truly makes me sad.

Well, after seeing the current rating, I'm not surprised at my experience tonight. It was 9:20PM...they didn't have frostys or chili (two of our normal go to's at Wendy's)...they had already started cleaning the machines. I'm not sure the owner would be okay with them not having food to sell to the customers 40 minutes before close. The saddest part is even as I'm writing this I know and expect nothing will be done to correct this horrible customer service.
