As I stated in my first review, something was off with the prices. So, I did some digging. Even called Shipley's Corporate and asked for an explanation. Never even got a call back! One morning for kicks I called the Shipley's over in South Austin and started asking prices. South Austin Boudin Kolache price - $2.99. Over here in Richey Rich land $5.50. Breaking up with this donut place isn't that hard; never was in love with Shipley's in the first place.

I would go for the coffee and donuts, but not the kolaches. The normal sausage kolaches and breakfast tacos are not worth going for. I had a taco last year; it was small for the price, tasted old, and the tortilla was hard. The bread on the kolache I had recently also tasted days old and the sausage tastes like it came straight from a pack of wieners. The combo left a weird aftertaste that made me nauseous and now I have 2 large kolaches that I don't want to waste. On top of that, I'm signed up for points for awards but they're not clear or don't seem to know their own rewards system that well? I had 40 points for a free large kolache. I said it twice, showed her my phone, and gestured with my hand for one kolache. The lady grabs three kolaches and puts them in the microwave. I asked her if the rewards said it came with 3 and she said yes. She then proceeds to charge me for 3 kolaches, which is around $10. I took it anyway since I thought they were going to be good, but they weren't. I wish I were more assertive on the spot.

Looked inviting so decided to give it a try! First on the list was coffee the medium was a huge cup of java! Pretty smooth not an acidic bite at the end.. The donuts looked very inviting but decided on the lemon Kolache.. it was enough for two people. Dough was perfect and just the right amount of glaze. Seemed like a gallon of lemon topping but that's ok! The coffee went well with the Kolache will get again. Although I despise chain restaurants this one is on a go again list! Keep on Yelping!!!
