I went with a party of 4, myself included. Each one of us enjoyed our individual dishes. I had the étouffée, my wife had boiled scrimp, my friend had the surf-n-turf, and his wife had fried shrimp. Like I said, all dishes were good. Now for the rub. The portions are not large but are enough to arouse your appetite. My friend and his wife have been here before, therefore they knew to order a side salad prior to their entree. The menu needs some reorganizing and better grouping. I found it difficult to navigate and confusing as to what was where. Overall, it has a great atmosphere...very Louisiana! I will return but am better prepared to conquer the menu and leave full.

We rate the food as very good, maybe 4 stars is fair. However there is no table service. You order and pay then they take food to your table when it's ready. Prices are too high based on lack of service. The view is nice but the tables snd chairs outside aren't clean. Owner said her employees aren't capable to take orders. Maybe new management is needed. Anyways The the view is really worth stopping to see and the food is tasty.

Very good fried catfish. Family friendly. Beautiful view of lake. Louisiana style Entries. Good options for the whole family.

Great food, great location, great staff. One of the best hole-in-the-wall places I've been to.

The second best catfish I've ever had. Doesn't look like much from the outside or the inside but the food was great.

It was so good, the flavors complex, the roux thick. Could tell a lot of locals were there because the staff knew everyone but they were really nice to me too.

It's the kind of eatery where the waitresses call you "baby" which is a respected Deep South Tradition. I ordered the 1/2 po boy & 1/2 gumbo lunch with a side dish (I chose baked potato salad) for $14. The food arrived about 10 minutes later. My sandwich was a grilled shrimp po boy on bread that tasted like it was from Gambino's. It was very good taste wise and I enjoyed it. Ditto on the cup of seafood gumbo with shrimp in it and with a good tasting roux too. Finally the baked potato salad was creamy, cool and flavorful. Altogether this was a very good meal. On the front door is a sign saying that they charge an extra 4% for credit card usage. Also, on my check were two prices, one for cash and the other for credit. While I detest restaurants that charge extra for credit card usage, I will give Gumbo Pot credit in that they clearly disclose that fee on the door and on the bill but I still hate it.

There are not a lot of Yelpers in Vicksburg but Rusty's had some great reviews so we decide to try it. Nice location near the river and plenty of street parking. We were seated quickly after our full party arrived. There is nothing fancy about this place but clean and simple. When you walk in you see the desserts in the cooler in the front and they all look delicious and homemade. We saw some dinner rolls being brought to the table but we were not offered any so we asked and they are free. So make sure to ask. They are yummy little yeast rolls with some sweet (maybe honey) butter. I tried a Bahama mama that was tasty and we liked the fried calamari (7/10). This place is a mostly seafood restaurant with a few good options if you don't or can't eat seafood. We had two in our party that does not eat seafood and they enjoyed the blacked chicken. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty. The start of the dinner was the Redfish with the craw fish cream sauce. DE-licious!! I enjoyed the seafood pasta. It's a lemon butter sauce not creamy but I liked it! It came with a side so I tried a cup of gumbo for $3 up-charge. It was worth it. Very good gumbo with sausage, shrimp, scallops, and an oyster! Looking forward to going back!

So we booked a spot at a local hotel and they recommended Rusty's because 'it's by the river.' Although it is near the river, you cannot SEE the river. So...whatever. They were super friendly, very welcoming. The place is, essentially, a pub or sportsbar feel. We were hungry, but not starving and wanted to order light, but were excited by the new (to us) items on the menu...we're from the Pacific Northwest so the type of seafood they have here at Rusty's is not the usual. We got the fried green tomato appetizer, then the wedge salad and shrimp and grits. So- one app, a salad and one entree. The portions were HUGE. Like, way too much for us. We loved the sweet tea. The green tomatoes were great. Lump crab and hollandaise...tasty, if maybe a little over-sauced. The wedge salad was drowning in dressing. It tasted great, but way too much. Shrimp and grits: delicious, but we ended up taking most of it to-go because we were so full from everything else. The shrimp and grits also came with onion rings- which went straight into the doggie bag. Just so much food. I appreciate that they're trying to make sure that we're well fed, I really do...but damn. I want to taste everything...please, smaller portions! Or maybe a tasting menu? We wanted dessert badly but had no room for it at all.

Hell, I go to Doe's in Monroe every single time I am in Monroe. When I would profess my love for Doe's to my Mississippi friends they would always tell me: "you have to go to the Greenville location. It's the original". I figured they were right but also figured I would never be in Greenville since there are not many things to do there. But 2025 was the year that I finally made it here. We made a special stop on the way to Eureka Springs. It was everything I had hoped and I absolutely loved it. You must know that this is the original location and it is not fancy on the outside or the inside. Parking is mostly on the street and the neighborhood seems a wee bit sketchy. The building looks like an old house from the outside. Needless to say, the kids were skeptical and wondered why their dad drug them here. That continued when we walked in to the kitchen, walked through the other kitchen, and were seated in one of the rooms. One of the kids said: "I feel like I am dining at someone's house". Exactly. This place is famous! All skepticism was washed away when we got our food. A ribeye and fries for me and a fillet and fries for them to share. Both were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made this Doe's fan grin from ear to ear. It was a great meal I will remember forever. Was it cheap? Definitely not. For two entrees, a beer, and a tea, it was around $200 with a tip. Was it worth it to me? Hell yes. I freakin loved it. Is it worth a drive from New Orleans just to eat here? Probably not. Should you divert a road trip to eat here? Absolutely. By the way, service was exactly as you would expect. Super friendly and we were treated like regulars despite it being our first time. Also, there was a cop working outside so don't be scared.
