Newly renovated building to two full suites. We were traveling as a family, with a 4 yr old and grandparents, and it was everything we needed. The finishings were gorgeous and brand new. The space is huge. Pullout couch was comfortable. Full kitchen, stocked with plates, cups, dish towels, soap, sponges, drying rack meant we didn't have to dine out every meal. For a large group, the two interconnecting suites was great, the kid could wander around, we could have family over to visit in one living room while the kid napped in the other, etc. So happy to have found it.

We checked in for our stay in the Hotel, staff were friendly and told us about amenities. There were 4 elevators located off of the lobby, good signage to help you find the convention center, pool or casino. The hallway on the 8th floor was beautiful and wide. I enjoyed the pictures of important areas around Terra Haute, IN and learning about the history. The casino was brightly lit and featured all the latest video machines. We don't play the table games but there were lots of people playing. Everything was very clean (bathrooms too) and there were lots of staff & security around. We stopped at the bar in the center for a drink. Kaitlyn was super friendly and made me a fantastic pink Cosmo! Hubby lost all of his allotted money LOL but I won about $100 so I was happy (he usually wins and I lose so...lol). Our room was also beautiful and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and I slept great. They use flat sheets on the bed (instead of fitted as is common in hotels) and my sheet was too short and had come undone by morning. The thermostat for the heating/AC was easy to find and use but the cooling unit was extremely loud every time it came on. We had to turn the TV volume up because it was that loud. The bathroom was big and had excellent lighting for shaving and makeup. I appreciated the makeup mirror on the wall. The shower was great but no bars to hang onto (just in case) and no handheld shower head. We would definitely stay here again when in the area!

We stayed here during the Covered Bridge Festival Oct. 2012 and 2014…read more First the positives: It is the ONLY full hookup RV park in Rockville, IN. It is within walking distance of the town square and all the venders in the downtown area. The daily rate of $32.00 seems reasonable. The couple who operate the park are friendly and helpfull. The park is attractive, there is laundry facilities (we didn't use them) & bath and shower facilities if you need them ( we didn't use them either). Now the NEGATIVES: If it rains very much the park turns to lots and lots of mud, which it did the week we were there. The park is older & was designed for older RVs, ie 20-25 ft. long & only needed 30Amp hookups. We tripped the breaker a couple of times. We also had electrical problems with the park hookup as did another RVer, his kept going on and off one day. The park is owned by the operators father who if you have a problem refuses to come to the park. He shows up long enough to create a problem then leaves and the couple who run the place are stuck trying to solve what he caused, she says "you'd just have to know my dad", not a good answer. Two of the 3 entries are difficult to maneuver thru if you have a newer (and longer) RV such as a big 5th wheel. Half the park is on the LOW end of the park and if it does rain very much it becomes a real mess, one guy had to spread hay just to pull out and he didn't have a big trailer either. We had a 4 wheel drive Dodge or we probably would not have been able to pull out since we were on the low side of the park. One guy hit the metal corner post at the entry with his trailer ( mostly his fault but still it is a real problem where it's at but it's protecting the power pole that's also located at the entry) not good either. I gave this park 3 stars mainl because the couple who run it are nice and are "stuck" much like we almost were otherwise I'd rate it a TWO !!If you do reserve a site request one on the high side of the park and you'll be better off.

We wanted a quiet place, where we could rest and take a load off. Man! Did we ever find a hidden gem! The owners were super nice, as well as the seasonal folks who took us for a quick cart ride to see the Fallen Rock. This year, we wanted to get away for 10 days over the 4th of July weekend. We didn't think long before we remembered how much we loved this campground! They were so accommodating! We had the same spot of our one=night visit last year. We met many more of the seasonal folks, and their dogs (we brought ours with us this time!) We have already make a reservation to go in the fall next year for the covered bridge festival. In closing, this is the nicest, cleanest park we have stayed at to date. The owners have obviously put their hearts into this place. They feel like family. Oh, and they put on a fireworks shows that rivals the ones in DC!

October is the best time to camp or hike here, the leaves are beautiful and the trails are mostly dry. There are easy trails, moderate trails, and rugged trails. The suspension bridge is fun to cross, although there are 70 steps to climb, and they are fairly steep. It would be nice if a ramp was added for those who can't do steps. Park maps are provided when you enter the park, and most of the trails are fairly well marked. There is one trail that is marked but does not appear on the map, trail 12. Admission fee is only $7 per vehicle.

An Amphitheater with stone seating faces the lake and has a small "stage" area at the base. The rest of the park has a paved path on the east side and other trails that wander around the lake. One of the key points of interest along the path is the Kenneth E Smith Memorial Labyrinth which is a recreation of the one "in the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in France in 1220." There are 34 changes of direction before you reach the center. If you stay on path, it totals 0.58 miles if completed. Of course, since it is simply inlaid without barriers, you can walk off anytime you choose. Most of the areas I walked were clean, but some natural debris, like fallen limbs, was around. A large tree had fallen into Burns Lake near one of the fishing docks. Shelters seemed clean and came with numerous picnic tables and some grills. Overall, a nice place to hike and play on a day trip. Review #2691
