I am the kind of guy that looks forward writing positive reviews when I am provided a memorable experience or a special level of service. I stay clear of negative energy when present and find myself drawn to happy, fun, smart/cleaver and witty people. I learned a very long time ago, if you have nothing nice to say... say nothing! I will instead let Allen R., the person who wrote the previous review about The Dive Source, recap a similar experience I had over the past 4 weeks. The difference was that I was dealing with the owner Rob. The only Ryan I know that is connected to Dive Source is Ron's son. I do not this Ryan is connected with the store and would think the comments below recount an encounter with a different Ryan, as I found Ryan to be a very competent, patient instructor and very smart. Ryan has his own business interests apart from the store, and I found him VERY different from his father. I took Level 1 Freediving classes with Ryan, and was very impressed with this young man in his very early 30's. If you read Allen R.'s review, and replace Ryan with ROB, you will pretty much get the picture. I would use different vernacular in some cases, but the basic experience was equally distasteful..... P.S. I read Aaron C's review and agree that Rob is unreasonable when it comes to the almighty buck. He charged me $100 over list price shown on the Koah site for a Fatback speargun, and refused to refund the difference when I pointed out his error. He gets irritated that people shop "On Line" but lacks the appreciation for what it takes to value retail customers who try to support local businesses. The man is always cranky.... read more

Went out with Ryan and the Dive Source team a few days after Grouper opened up May 1st. Great experience, put us on a awesome wreck with 5+ 30 lb gags with 50+' visibility. Was able to score an incredible gag. I would go out with 'the dive source' again read more

Fintastic Diving Adventures is an amazing Scuba Diving company that specializes in classes, certifications and trips for the whole family. I highly recommend them. Though based in Jacksonville, FL, they regularly hold classes in Atlanta. I've been scuba certified for over 30 years but I took a refresher course with Fintastic after being away from the sport for a while. The owner, Saffron, also taught my children to dive and we have traveled with her on more than 10 trips. Each one was organized, professionally done and tons of FUN. You can rent her gear for classes and trips or she can hook you up with your own gear at reasonable prices. Well known and respected in the diving industry, Saffron is a wonderful teacher with over 6,000 dives. Sitting on multiple Scuba Safety Councils, she is the person that professional divers recommend when asked for the name of a scuba instructor. Saffron's background in marine biology is a great help in identifying wildlife above and below the water. To top it all off.. Saffron is a nice person and I think nice matters.
