We went for their Sunday special, 2 courses and jazz for £19.50 a head I'd been to the boatyard when it was new and it was incredible. Was revisiting the area and suggested to friends going there for a chilled lunch and a catch up. We couldn't hear ourselves speak even without the music. My ears hurt, really, I wanted to leave but didn't want to be fude so between eating, I pressed my ears shut , it ewas the only way I could cancel out some of the noise and pick up my friend in front of me! I did a decibel check . The resting rate was 75, anything over 70 is too loud! When the jazz was playing, everyone had to raise their voices. The average decibel level went to 85 peaking regularly at 89. I hate to complain about noise because I love loud music and gigs and parties. But the sound quality was the problem . I'm convinces there are no accoustic panels in there and they are desperately needed. Plus 3 days on and my ears are still not right I have had to book an appointment to see my doctor The food was ok. Looked fabulous. Plenty of it. The soup was so thick it was almost pate! You took a spoonful out and it left a dent!!! I definitely wont ever go back . it was the most stressful eating experience I've ever had.

I have been 4-5 times, and have never left feeling disappointed, it is on the pricey side, but once…read morein a while it is definitely worth it - especially for the view over the Estuary. Try the cocktails at the centre bar after your meal.

They have a small but reasonable selection of wine, although don't always expect the server to know much about them (they all seem very young, or maybe I'm old now), "dry white" was the description for the house white and when asked if know the grapes or how it taste, "nop it's just dry I dont know anything about the wine", however saying this if I was really fussed (which I wasn't and changed to a red by then), I could have asked to try it This is a place where you need to go when your v hungary and not on a diet to fit in the full 1st, 2nd and 3rds - the experience won't dissapoint. The Rosemary bread as a starter is to die for and the vanilla gelato with expresso shot - well what's not to like, simple sweet and bitter (although also know the chocolate desserts are also worth a try - assuming you have room left) Oh and a couple more logistic points, it has a good atmosphere, they have this one (busy / trending(ish) area of leigh, essex) and another location in rayleigh Essex (this is quieter but building is a lot more impressive)
