The Dilraj is some what of an institution in good old Dursley. It was the curry house that my friends and I always used to frequent for any kind of occasion or happening during our A-level years, and back then it was as if no one could compete with their culinary offerings. In more recent times I've fallen out of love with the place; on my last visit the food and service was far from up to scratch.
Having booked a huge table of folk for my sister's pre wedding celebrations we were hoping for a special night. Sadly the slowest poorest service, matched with three of our company's meals arriving a good twenty minutes after everyone elses, warm coke poured from the bottle not on tap and other mishaps the evening went less than smoothly. The food wasn't bad, but certainly not as tasty as the folks' up the road, and all in all it was a fairly standard evening.
Not as special as we'd hoped! The staff were reasonably pleasant but not nearly as accommodating as they used to be. Hopefully when I'm next home the story will be differen, but then again with two other lovely curry houses on the same street, I mightn't give it another try!
