After being brutally screwed over by another jeweler in the area, I walked past "The Diamond Consignment Store" sign outside in Old Town and figured I'd take a peak. Shopping for an engagement ring is tough and finding someone to trust is tougher. I can say with confidence you won't get screwed over here. Carl was super nice and educational, and took the time to explain everything about a diamond. He wasn't pushy at all, which was a great change of pace after working with other diamond sellers. Carl's price was fair, and he worked with me to get my ring sized quickly after I proposed. Most people know nothing about diamonds before going to purchase one, I suggest taking a trip to see Carl before making a purchase. His inventory is massive, don't let the store front fool you. read more

Parking is available but only for customers of select shops. On December 5th, I parked my car in a customer spot and took my toddler out of his car seat. I waved into Flag World and Sports, an "approved parking spot store" and my destination, when I realized that I was being followed. A man, twice my size, asked me where I was going and if I was coming back. I let him know that I was a customer and decided my best course of action was to go towards people and not trap myself within a small confined area. I am a very petite, pregnant minority holding hands with my toddler; I will not put myself or my child in a situation that I could later regret. I turned back and realized that the man was still following me. He then began to raise his voice at me, questioning where I was going. Due to his size and the volume of his voice I decided to walk away and return at a later time. After about an hour had passed, I went into my intended destination and afterwards was walked to my car by the Flag World and Sports store owner. At that time, I found a green Towing Warning Sticker directly on the drivers side of my windshield. The sticker was rather large, about half the size of a sheet of paper. Upon further inspection, I realized that I would be unable to drive without endangering myself, my toddler and my unborn child, thus trapping me in the parking lot. The owner of Flag World was nice enough to take the time to peel pieces of the sticker off of my windshield and even attempted to use a razor blade to scrape off the stuck remnants to allow me to see out my windshield. This ended up taking him several minutes, which allowed me to see the very same man that had followed me earlier sitting in The Diamond Consignment Store, behind the counter watching me as I waited for my windshield to be us I understand that this could have just been a misunderstanding and admit that this review has nothing to do with the quality of their products, pricing or selection. However, this man's worst case scenario (a non customer steals a customers parking spot) cannot begin to compare to my worst case scenario as a female, minority and a mother. The way this man executed his behavior was threatening, unprofessional and dangerous. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend anyone to set foot in this establishment. read more

I wanted to upgrade my wife's wedding ring. It was already a very nice custom ring with a unique design. Uneven edges with yellow gold blending into white gold. Not wanting to change the unique features of her ring, the upgrade would need to come in the manner of a second ring matching the unusual shape. Karl is a master jewelry maker. Far exceeding my expectations. And it came in under budget. Thank you Karl, for doing what appeared to be nearly impossible for the amount I could afford. read more

Found it here and when I finally decided that I would give this store a try, very disappointed when I picked up the ring. Does not fit and one sided bid just off doesn't look correct. My boyfriend (now fiancé)and I started looking at engagement rings on a whim one day after having breakfast down the road from the diamond consignment store. We were greeted by Carl and Robbie immediately as we entered the store. They were both polite and easy to talk to, and not pushy or overbearing like some places can tend to be. We browsed the wide selection of rings and I found many rings that were absolutely stunning and reasonably priced. We didn't purchase anything that day but my boyfriend grabbed a card before he left. A few months later my boyfriend proposed to me with a ring from this store. It was a gorgeous ring and the exact setting I was looking for. He said we should go back to the store just to be sure that was the exact one I wanted. We ended up going back to the diamond consignment store and Carl (the owner) designed a ring (on a computer application) based on my exact specifications. Unfortunately for Carl, while he was putting the finishing touches on the design he worked on -I was browsing the new selection in the store. Robbie pointed out a gorgeous yellow diamond ring that was to die for! It was out of our price range but Robbie was sure Carl could help us get the cost down and make it work for us. Robbie was right! Carl worked out a plan and I seriously got the ring of my dreams!!! These two are like family to us when we go in to get the ring cleaned. They are genuine people who care about what you want and will work with you to make it happen. I am constantly complimented on my ring and it's utterly amazing. So very disappointed in this establishment. My husband and I were and still are looking to upgrade my ring, we decided that instead of trading in my old one, we would consign it and have 100% of the money go to the hemophilia association, a charity very close to our hearts since our son has hemophilia. When I first went in alone to look, I told Robbie my story as to what we wanted to do with the ring, they were so moved by my selfless act, that they offered to consign it for free! I wouldn't have even minded paying the fee, but they offered I did not ask, nor would I ever, I thought wow that's so cool. As everyone knows when your making a big purchase some people like to do research, well that's my husband. So it's taking him alittle longer than the average to decide what he wants to get me. I informed them that it was past our anniversary and we still hasn't purchased anything. By now I had already given them my old ring to get started on. Still ring less and my husband doing research last week I get a text, not a call but a text, (1/2) Good morning Melissa can you please stop by at your convenience and pick up your ring. I was going to consign it for you because your a customer. That never happened so i will not be consigning it. Thanks!!! No they were going to consign it because it was going to charity! I was so disgusted by this weasel move it took me a week to go down and get my ring because I was so angry and sad for my charity. I would have paid the fee. So not only is the quality so so, but they are nice to you only when they are going to make a big sale and only feed you what you want to hear. Shame on you! We are a big business owner and would never conduct ourselves that way! We've been giving out free product the entire month of October for this charity. So if you want to go somewhere where the owners care only about making a buck on their over priced merchandise here's your place, I highly recommend somewhere else if you want genuine people and top notch products. My now fiancé and I went into this store just to start getting an idea of engagement rings. We loved the idea of a consignment store, so we would have more variety of vintage. The women we worked with, Robby, was absolutely amazing! She didn't push the sale or breathe down our necks about anything. She was just interested in helping us decide what we want. Showed us plenty of rings and within minutes we found the perfect ring! She put it on hold for us and my fiancé later contacted Carl about purchasing it. The whole process was easy and non-stressful. It made the engagement so sweet because we have the perfect ring. It's a gorgeous and flawless ring! So happy with it and so happy with the help and service provided.
