Kevin's Car Wash - A regular customer

Apparently I must not have ended the wash correctly so it timed out at $15. He issued a full credit even though he rightfully could have charge for the 6-7 minutes I used the service. Top-notch customer service and why I prefer to visit local business like Kevin's Car Wash.

Had an interesting experience at this car wash. I was out of town on business and had a rental car…read more The previous day, I had to visit a client down a long dirt road. So...the car was dirty. I was staying at a nearby hotel and saw this place. Figured it would be quick and painless. Well...it was, sort of. The easy part is picking your wash level and paying. After that, you self-guide your car into place. On the day I went, there is no light telling you when to stop. Instead there is a loud horn. I heard that and wondered if I went too far, so I backed up a bit. Seemed to work as it started. Then it soaked my car, covered it with soap and then...stopped. Nothing. I tried going up, nothing, back, nothing, sitting, nothing...now what? Well, figured it was best to drive around front and ask the cashier to help. Apparently, the manager was already on his way so when I got up front, he was in the back fixing it. Anyway, he was able to fix whatever happened and let me know to immediately stop when I hear the horn. So, re-enter and wash. Worked great! But, you will need to bring towels with you or drive pretty fast when you are done. The blow dryers at the end get some water off but not as much as others. Overall, it worked, cleaned the car but really didn't dry the car. So, bring towels, stop when you hear the horn and...enjoy!!!

The owner said he was a man of his word and would refund for the service, and pay any damages, but is now avoiding me (after my patiemce for 2 months) I will have to pursue (good thing I've kept all his texts, and paperwork from mechanic). I am a busy single working mom, and was treating myself to a much needed detail. I was excited at first that the new owner RJ came to my job to pick up my car while I worked, and he even made a cheaper deal with me because he had to reschedule my original time due to him being sick. The day he did take my car, he dropped it off early, so I couldn't thoroughly look over (I had to come out from my work quickly), but together we discovered the water he got on my things in my trunk, and missed spots on the seats. He also said he sprayed under the hood- which I specifically said not too (I have in text). When I got off work, sitting in my car I noticed wax smeared on the windows, a dirty cup holder, missed spots, and a lot of moisture that took a long time to defrost out. That night, my car wouldn't accellerate thru an intersection, and I could barely get it home (only 2nd gear the whole way). I had to bring it to a mechanic the next morning. RJ said he would refund my detail bill (due to dissatisfaction, and for aditional worries & inconvenience I had to deal with), and pay the mechanic bill- in which it was discovered that water/moisture had gotten in/near the computer under the hood. Although my car ended up being fine and drivable on the 2nd day (apparently things dried up, and they had reset the 2 error codes), I was out ADDITIONAL money because of him. Unprofessional, terrible service, and dishonest.

Just a warning buying anything with higher mileage from the lot last year during the summer we…read morepurchased what I believed to be very nice Yukon XL it had 117,000 miles on it which my husband was wary of it being a little high but we read these vehicles were pretty reliable and I really liked the vehicle. We added a warranty and thank goodness he did things immediately went bad. Within a week, the car was thunking and shifting very rough. I had noticed this on the test ride, but was assured it was just "the way those cars drive" I should have left right there as that was a complete lie. Also when I asked if they could gas it up before we took it off the lot he laughing told me "no not for the price you got it" like we were getting some deal of a lifetime which I will quickly prove why that's EXTRA insulting. Chad very nicely did pay to get the torque converter fix and I very much appreciated that except for one detail that I will point out later. Over the next year, the car continued to have very severe electrical and mechanical problems, leaving me and my children's stranded MULTIPLE times and spending more time in multiple shops across whatcom County then it spent in my possession I am listing everything we had to do to keep it on the road; a new transmission, new ball joints, differential leak, gigantic oil leak, motor mounts, new keys, leaking headlight, ignition switch, battery, alternator, brakes, rotors and new tires. ALL WITHIN 7 MONTHS!! Even with all these repairs it STILL had a list of things it needed, from the day we took it it literally never stopped needing something, we would get it back and it would return 2 weeks later with a new problem. The reason I am now not appreciative of the original torque converter replacement was I was told by a very reputable shop that they would never just replace a torque converter and that was just to cover up that the transmission was completely bad and obviously that was true as the transmission did not hold up even a month after the torque converter was replaced. Before attacking me, I completely understand that used vehicles are a risk and it is completely on me that I should've had the vehicle more closely inspected, but I did trust this car lot and I thought at least their inspection process was a little bit more honest than this proved to be. from everything that needed to be done to the vehicle it is obvious it was severely neglected and then put on their lot to be sold with no concern for anyone who would have it in the future. I am out literally thousands of dollars on vehicle repairs & towing bills, not to mention tons of inconveniences and at risk safety instances so after having enough, we went and traded it in for a completely brand new car, but it's just ridiculous It had to come to that. when my husband went back to try to get the remainder of the warranty back we were quickly informed we weren't owed anything and not given as much as even a "sorry" for all our troubles. I will be keeping all the documentation, receipts, towing bills, etc to remind myself NEVER to buy another used car. Just please bring a mechanic to inspect if you are considering this lot.
