Very little work was done on it, and even less thought put into its design, flow and concept. It's as if a high school intern with no wine industry experience pulled content from our existing website and haphazardly inserted it into a Wordpress template. There was no original content, they leveraged photography which we paid for out of pocket, and the site map and flow of the site are pitiful. Kim said to give her the keys to the car and to trust her 100%. I did that, now we are 7 months from the date the first payment was made when targeted completion was 3 months. I had been told Kim did not like to show the website under development to clients because clients don't understand anything but a finished product. When I insisted, after seeing nothing for 6 months, it seemed they hastily threw together content pulled from our old website on a template. From there, virtually nothing improved for another month, all while they kept telling me it was "custom", that we're "getting a good deal", and that they have many other clients who pay double what we are paying. As for the printed material and templates for tech sheets and email newsletters, they simply pulled existing logos, photography and content to "create" these pieces on Adobe Suite and charged a fortune for work that should have taken no less than 30 minutes per. There was virtually no thought into the pieces, for example, her Tasting Room insert only had space for 3 bottles when we do not offer memberships with 3 bottles. We would have been better off buying the Adobe software and creating them in-house. I have not worked with a company whose fees were as out of line with output as DesignThis!. They are long on lip-service about how they are experts in the wine industry, that they have worked with 80% of wineries in Napa and Sonoma and how great they are. I was disappointed at the level of unprofessionalism within the company, there always seemed to be calamity. There was employee turnover from the very beginning (the person who onboarded us quit) and personal excuses abounded as deadlines were continuously missed. My biggest regret is that I trusted Kim. My second regret is that I paid upfront for poor work that was not completed. Cookie Cutter Website Designer - All Show and No Go…read more.. First, I do not enjoy writing this review. However, for the community I think that I must. I found Stacee's posting in Craigslist where the claim was that Stacee & Company did both WordPress and Shopify Themes. From a purely emotional point of view I give "No Stars". However, I have given 2 Stars which I think generous in this case. At first, we spoke on the phone and I was very excited to work with a Web designer. She asked for a deposit and I asked is $200 agreeable? She accepted. I quickly sent her this deposit from my PayPal account. My expectation was that we would decide on a platform and a Theme. Then we would get the website up and running. Instead, absolutely nothing was done and any recommendations that she made were poor choices, in my opinion. What I found instead was that she strongly favors WordPress and one theme only. To me, this smacks of bait and switch. I explained why that theme did not meet my design criteria. In fact, I wrote 6 emails to the point of frustration. Then realizing that I was not getting through I wrote a short and kind email canceling this project as it was not a fit. Stacee calls shortly after acting all confused. At this point, she started getting all defensive telling me all the businesses she had started and on and on. So, after all of the emails and chest pounding, I had enough and simply matched her ridiculous arguments. Now I am being chastised for being angry. It never ends with Stacee. Regardless, I wrote a kind email suggesting that we split the difference. Nope, she wants to keep $150. Yet, I have no website, no theme, no software and I am extremely unhappy!!! In summary, this is not how you treat anybody, especially a customer. From a technical point of view I find that Stacee seems to have little understanding or interest in SEO, performance or security. So if you want a pretty website she can deliver, while performance, SEO and security are mediocre at best. Now I had to file a PayPal claim and others plus this review. I tried to work with her and tried to find a compromise but at each juncture I feel like we are in a contest. I just wanted somebody to assist in designing several websites. What a freaking Nightmare !!!
