Then I heard that acquaintances were coming down with COVID so I googled it and found that COVID could present as a rash, took the test and found I was positive. When I found that prednisone suppresses the immune system, I called back the practice to ask if I should stop the med. They waited 4 days to get back to me to say to stop it.

The office is clean and nicely lit, giving it a welcome atmosphere. When making appointments via phone, the staff are always very courteous and helpful. The front desk staff are also very nice, so customer service is a strong focus for the practice I can tell and I appreciate. The actual medical staff are nice too which is important for me and my client who can be difficult to understand when it comes to his needs. One strange thing I find is the service costs can vary from office to office, for example as I understand it the Hoboken office standard visit can carry a higher cost. Why? Went for a skin cancer screening. Had a few spots that I wanted checked out. Office staff were…read morepleasant. Waiting area is very nice. Ms. Hassanali provided my care. She recommended doing a biopsy of 3 areas. I thought that was routine procedure. As she does the biopsies, she noted most people wanted the areas checked over time. Good to know now that I'm in the middle of the procedure. She cauterized the areas. When home doing wound care, I find she removed the entire area that looked odd. The wounds still haven't fully healed after over 3 months and they will scar. I have 2 areas in the back of my calves that look horrible. First, reviewing all options with me should be done. Telling me that the entire discolored areas will be cut out and how slowly those biopsy areas will heal, and that they will scar, would have influenced my decision. I didn't have enough information to make an informed decision. Now I have still healing wounds on my legs. Yes, I did go to follow-up appointments and was told legs heal last and slowly. My summer was ruined due to these wounds and I'll be scared. Not impressed at all with the care.

I have had to wait from time to time but his staff is very friendly. He is out of network with insurances so he really only takes Medicare but they do send it off for you. Scheduling was fairly easy. They recently hired a new PA, Jennifer Rendall and she was great when I met her! She said she has practiced dermatology for 8 years and she seems very qualified. They also said if I ever need a later appointment she is doing extended hours so that is good to know. Although it is out of network I think spending a little extra money for great service is worth it.

The crater on my nose is from the surgery). Right after the surgery, I was handed a plastic surgeon's business card and told I'd need reconstruction. Recently, I was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma again. This time, I chose a facility in New York that has both a Mohs surgeon and a plastic surgeon on-site, hoping for a better outcome. I asked Schweiger to forward my biopsy results to the new facility a week ago. I've left multiple voicemails and emails--but haven't heard back. This is cancer, and time matters. The lack of response is upsetting and unacceptable. I wonder if they've lost my records or won't send them because I've chosen a different provider. As you may imagine, I can't recommend Schweiger Dermatology based on my experience.

Recently, I tried to cancel my appointment twice 3 weeks prior and still got a text saying I am scheduled for the appointment. Asked to update my phone number at least five times but they were still calling my husbands number. If it takes so much work just to cancel an appointment/ update a phone number - I absolutely cannot imagine depending on this practice for anything more important, ie my health. I hope the group can do something about this - you have good doctors, just a terrible system.

I've had some recent concerns and called the office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Downie as she had closer availability. I received TWO text message confirmations for my appointment prior to and one email confirmation ( all attached below). I arrived to my appointment today and was told they " couldn't find my appointment", that I could be seen however there were 6 people ahead of me which would result in over an hour and a half wait before I was seen. I expressed to the office that while I anticipated a wait, 1.5 hours was well beyond an acceptable wait time. I am an understanding person and have no problem waiting 30 minutes beyond my appointment time, even 45 minutes if there is an emergency however, 1.5 hours is nothing but a reflection of poor office management. Additionally, as my appointment was confirmed but somehow not coming up in the system, I asked for reasonable accommodations from the office. I did everything correct as a patient : I confined my appointment, I arrived early to my appointment and remained respectful in communicating my concerns. I requested, as the error was on the office and not myself, to be seen later today at 3:30. Again, reasonable accommodation request considering I showed the office proof that my appointment was confined by their system. The only options provided to me were to see Megan on another day and time or to see Dr. Downie during her next open appointment which was at 5:00 pm today. When I expressed that 5pm didn't not work as I needed to head to work that time, I was offered to come at my requested 3:30pm time and wait 1.5 hours to be seen... so still 5:00pm. Very unprofessional and quite frankly rude. I'm not sure about this office, but I'm sure in business and healthcare, when a error is made by the practice, it is then their responsibility to fix the error without additional inconvenience to the patron. Late appointments are cancelled and cancelled appointments result in a $100 fee so there is a communicated expectation of respecting the doctors time, however this same expectation of respect for time is not given to patients. I gave this dermatologist office two stars purely for Megan, however this practice has lost me and my future additional referrals as a client.
