I've gone to the Dentistry since I was 5 years old, from the days of it being at Parkway Center Mall. As I've gotten older and them moving out of Parkway Center for obvious reasons, I understand that it's not the original owners of the business and has changed hands multiple times since then. Well these new people that own it are TERRIBLE!! A year ago, I got cavities filled and afterwards they said I owed 300 dollars. At first I thought, I have good insurance so how do I owe 300 dollars for a few cavities. But fine I went on a payment plan and paid it off. Also my wife went in a week after me and did the same thing but she didn't owe anything. Well how is that when I am under her insurance? So I went in for my next cleaning and they said I needed scaling done. Ok no big deal and also that I had a 300 dollar credit because oh, I wasn't supposed to be charged for those cavities that I got filled!! Ok, fine mistakes are made and appreciate they gave me the credit. They begin to schedule my scaling procedure and they give me the numbers and what they want to do. I then, as any responsible patient would do, proceed to make it clear to them that "I DON'T WANT ANYTHING DONE THAT MY INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER". They describe to me about this antibiotic that they put in between my teeth as well and I of course asked "DOES MY INSURANCE COVER THAT"? They said no, and of course I said "THEN DO NOT DO IT". They hand me the paper to sign and I went in the next week or so to begin the procedure for the right side of my teeth. Well thank god I cancelled my appointment to get the other side done because they still decided to charge me for that antibiotic that I CLEARLY TOLD THEM NOT TO DO!!! After a month of jumping through hoops and even having my insurance emailing them to have them get in contact with me, the front desk girl has the nerve to cop an attitude with me and tell me that I signed the paper. THAT DOESN'T MATTER!! I'm just the idiot patient, when I clearly inform you to not do anything that my insurance does not cover and then you put a paper in front of me to sign, I'm going to assume that you're not doing anything that my insurance does not cover!!! So now they want me to pay for over 600 dollars worth of stuff I said not to do!!! HAHAHAHA!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Either it's the front desk girl with the poor attitude that doesn't know how to do her job or the people that own this place now are trying to pull scams. Either or, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! read more

The front desk staff and the dentist were lovely! They are the reason I am not giving this place 0 stars. The dental hygienist who did my cleaning was condescending, arrogant, and made me feel like a child. It was the most unpleasant dentist appointment I have ever had. Now MIND YOU! I have a pretty thorough oral care routine. I use a fluoride, non-alcoholic mouthwash and brush my teeth with both a manual and electric toothbrush twice a day. I use floss picks, use a water flosser, and scrape my tongue daily. The dentist herself told me that she could tell that I take care of my teeth. Fast forward. I go to the hygienist for my cleaning. First, she forced me to watch a YouTube video on how to brush my teeth and floss before getting started (I'm 24 ?!?!?!). The entire time she's flailing about in my mouth, she is telling me that I am at risk for periodontal disease and that my gums look inflamed and bloody (a blatant lie). She is shaming me for my flossing habits and telling me that I keep an unclean mouth. She then pretty much forces me to do a fluoride application treatment not covered by my insurance (she asked me to pick a flavor while she was still cleaning out my teeth and didn't even give me the option to decline). Her hygienist station has all of the products she's selling with price tags on each (which I have NEVER seen any other dentist / hygienist do). She then tries to get me to buy mouthwash, a new toothbrush, and a water flosser off of her. I have never, ever wanted to get out of a chair so fast in my damn life!!!!! Worst dentist I have ever been to. I went for a routine cleaning but since I was a new patient they charged me for a comprehensive evaluation (which they did NOT tell me about and I have never heard of in 40 years). They told me I needed $5k worth of invisalign and had 4 cavities. They insisted I needed x-rays although I felt I had recently had x-rays. They actually lied and said that insurance allows x-rays every 12 months - which I found out later from my insurance is NOT true. So they proceeded with the x-rays instead of trying to get them from my former dentist. When I left after NOT receiving any type of teeth cleaning, they tried to book separate appointments for each cavity, a cleaning and for invisalign. I immediately called my former dentist and made an appointment for a cleaning since they have yet to scam me (I only changed dentists because I moved). Sidenote: my former dentist found 0 cavities. On top of the worst experience ever...I received a bill for $300 for services I did not approve. The x-ray which the insurance did not cover because the "12 month" line was a flat out lie and a comprehensive exam which I did not make an appointment for. Loyally went to The Dentistry for a long time because my hygienist is the best. But my last visit with the dentist and her tech/assistant was horrible. They were cold and seemed annoyed with my nervousness. Not even sure what they did because I went in having never had pain but now have horrible sharp pain daily. I absolutely never give reviews and am an extremely patient and generous person, but if I could give them a 0 I would. If you are getting Invisalign, NEVER GO HERE OR ANY OF THEIR LOCATIONS. I started Invisalign in January of 2021. They lost/never sent my final tray in July of 2023. Dr. Lopez was trying to get it figured out, then quit. The office manager told me she would take my case to corporate, then she quit. I tried to call multiple times and I never hear anything back. My teeth are completely back to how they were in 2021, I am out over $3,000, and no one will answer my phone calls, give me a call back, or get anything done. They have wasted my time, given me no service, and taken my money. Stay as far away from this location and their other locations. read more

They did their own thing, tried selling me gum injections, a water pik and new toothbrush. You think All Is Well at check in, the woman is wonderful. Her personality blew me away...and things go downhill from there. A woman came to get me from the nice, homey waiting room. She took me to a room, she was really nice but she wanted to take my blood pressure! I wouldn't let her. I just had my annual physical so I knew my blood pressure was ok. She was cool about it. It was like a parade, cause then a helper came in to ask questions, followed by the dr. She was young, hard to hear, so she was impossible to follow. Bottom line was I needed a root canal which I would never let this girl do. I wanted to find someone experienced. This girl looked 14. Saving grace was the blood pressure lady came back to get me to check out. Oh My God! I was checking out with the mean, blond lady. I accidentally gave her my old insurance card. You would think the world was ending. She berated me, and told me I'd have to pay in full and collect what insurance covered on my own. She said to file my own claim but until then, she wanted a credit card for over $278. I didn't have that with me. I was embarrassed because EVERYONE could hear her. I just wanted out of there. Then a shorter woman with brown hair ended up helping my situation. She came out of an office which is where she took me to figure my problem out. Here, I had given that blonde bitch the old card I had in my wallet. I looked again and had the new card with me too. As soon as I gave them the right card, the manager who ended up helping me, had me checked out in a few minutes, owing my $20 copay. That blonde lady on the way out ruined my day, my mood and my visit. I will never go back. There are like a hundred dentists in this area. I'll try someone else, maybe I don't need a root canal at all. Wouldn't that be something! If that ever happened, I would report that other place called the Dentistry. read more

I've had a pleasant experience with Dentistry up until now. I have always liked my hygienist and she's been very gentle with my sensitive teeth. However, this past year has been nothing but frustrating. I booked an odontoplasty back in January of 2023. They told me that the procedure was not covered by my insurance and was considered cosmetic. I was handed a print out of what the procedure would cost (somewhere around $110 for one tooth to be filed down). I booked the procedure for June of 2023. I paid out of pocket on the day of the procedure. Since then, it's been nothing but a nightmare. I was getting constant text messages and statements in the mail saying that I owed money for the procedure when in fact, I paid out of pocket on the day of treatment! They even turned me into Collections. I disputed the amount and had to write a letter to my insurance company and the collector. Crickets for a short period of time until I returned there for my yearly cleaning in January 2024. They had gotten a new office manager and she tried to tell me that I owed money and I have gotten more text messages and statements in the mail. I gave up and forked over the measly $60 to them and they have lost a patient. DO NOT tell a customer what the procedure will cost out of pocket and then bill them for the remainder because "insurance does not cover it!" I was aware insurance didn't cover it and they were not transparent with me regarding the cost of the procedure when I booked the appointment. They tried to change their story so many times....at one point they told me that the money was due because my dentist was out of network on the day of the appointment. Well tell the patient that - no one wants to pay for an out of network dentist when my cleanings are fully covered in network. Then they said the amount was for the remaining odontoplasty. Always overcharging and it takes a "minimum" of three months and several phone calls/emails for them to refund your money. This has happened to me twice in the last 6 months. First visit to the new dentist proved to be really good. I like the fact that you can print off the New Patient forms and have them filled out before your visit. The hygienist was friendly and took time to explain the x-rays and answered any questions that I had. The dentist came in and introduced himself, explained further details of the x-rays and told me the options available. He went further and asked if I'd like to proceed with any of the options. There was no pressure whatsoever. Overall, from the receptionist to the insurance review, all were friendly and helpful, and took their time to answers questions. read more

As far as dental work goes I've only ever gotten my wisdom teeth pulled and 1 small cavity filled. I been going to the Dentistry for almost 6 years. First in Irwin then in Greentree. They're always flexible with appointment and I never have to wait very long in the waiting room when I come for an appointment. I don't always see the same hygienists or dentist. I'm sure you can request to have the same dentist every time but I don't have a lot of concerns. Just look at my nearly perfect teeth that occurred without braces, tell me to floss more and send me home! read more

I had a procedure in November, was told they had preauthorization from my insurance and how much would be covered and how much I was responsible for. I paid the amount I owed & assumed my insurance paid the rest. Today I got a bill for the remainder of the balance, I called & they said it turns out my insurance didn't cover it. When I questioned how this was possible since I was told it was preauthorized & I agreed to pay a certain amount, not double the cost she said she did not know. How can you tell a patient they owe so much before treatment & then afterwards try to charge them double? Terrible billing practices, patients deserve to have all the information before they make a decision NOT after the fact. Our family has been going there to the Monroeville location for 3 years. My last 6 month ago check up was HORRIBLE! I has a new male hygienist who when trying to floss my bridges jacked them up! They were so sore after! Then after my visit they told me that they do not take my insurance anymore and that I would have to contact my insurance now myself to find out why. I went home sore, and frustrated, called the insurance and they have Dr. John Tiano listed as an in network provider. I called back and the billing department told me he has since moved to Florida and that he is no longer a provider!? So now I feel like they scammed me all that time! The insurance says they have to call and report they no longer take our insurance or they would still have to take it but they have not done so! I will never be going back there you have lost a whole family of 4s business. read more

I've been going to The Dentistry in Greentree for many many years. The staff members are friendly and professional at their jobs. My hygienist also is friendly and professional at her job too. The Doctors are professional and friendly at their jobs as well. Bottom line each area of professionals make me feel relaxed and unafraid when I come into the office. I have a very good rapport with all the members when I come in for my six month visits. I refered my brother to this office. He says that everybody was very nice. He also said he will return. I am giving one star because they are great at their dental practice when they actually perform, seems to me the take only the people they are making money with root canals, etc. For the past year "Even before Covid," I have been trying to make an appointment to get my teeth cleaned. It has been over a year since I made the appointment from the get go. They have canceled it and rescheduled it so many times that it has literally been over a year from them canceling and rescheduling since my last cleaning. Then I show up to my rescheduled appointment ( upon rescheduled, upon rescheduled, upon rescheduled etc.) cleaning only to be told, " Oh there's no one here to do your services!" Well why did I even bother rescheduling with special circumstances bc they don't pay any mind anyway. To schedule so many times and show up and the appropriate ppl are not there! WHY? You are a dentist who advertises you specialize with ppl who are afraid of the dentist. So why nine times out of 10 when I make a schedule do you not have an available the day when you make my appointment and I show up? ESPECIALLY WHEN I MADE AN APPOINTMENT SPECIFICALLY WITH SPECIAL NEEDS! The only good person in the entire department, at least in Greentree, is Donna the front desk lady! The icing on the cake was after I verbally said I was not pleased bc of this literally happening time after time one of the dental assistants decided she would be cute and as I was leaving said beIng smart "Have a nice day!" I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! I had many ppl who I told to go here will NEVER go here again. Any dentist can fix my teeth. I went here bc I thought they were professionals. Obviously they are not. My fiance was a patient here for a little. They are extremely friendly, appointments are made fast and the office is very nice. However, they are extremely overpriced. My fiance pays a pretty penny to have health insurance through the employer.. He works for a good company and we picked an excellent PPO dental plan. His plan is In-Network with this doctor, yet AFTER insurance, his out of pocket quote was $9,000!!!!! They charged $2,000 just for anesthesia. Absolutely insane. Please get a second opinion like we did. We found a new dentist... same procedure and after insurance his cost is $2,000. i dont know about you, but $7,000 is a big difference and alot of money. read more

Firstly, the staff was able to get me in on super, short notice. The receptionist was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. On my initial call, the receptionist completed most of my questionnaire over the phone, I've never had that happen before at any medical facility. I was greeted at at the office and seen in a timely manner. Both the attending assistant and the dentist were extremely friendly and did a great job keeping me comfortable and pain free, I was in and out of the office in an hour. Great job! read more

I have had the worst experience here. First I had an appointment that I was told twice "Not to be LATE", only to wait 1 1/4 hrs in the chair waiting on the Dr. Then when I was told what actions could be done and I wanted to get another opinion, I was told that they do not just send Medical Records, that I paid for, that I would have to come in pay $20. I think I hit a raw nerve when I questioned the Dr. and now they are trying to extract their pound of flesh. It will be a COLD DAY IN HECK!!! before they get another dime from me. As much as I hate the dentist, as I'm sure most people do, I couldn't put it off anymore. I've gotten quite a bit of work done, extractions, root canals, scaling and cleaning, never judged about the condition of my teeth, but reassuring they can help and undo the damage. Very friendly staff, informative and helpful. They worked out a plan with my insurance that made all of my procedures affordable. Just came from my final cleaning of the year and again had a pleasant experience. I feel confident the my next procedure will be as pleasant as the rest, and hopefully its the last. They're great, but I'm kinda tired of going to the dentist. read more

Not What It Used To Be. I feel that my newer dentist is a salesman, not a healthcare provider. Last time I was in, he convinced me that it was important to remove my silver fillings and replace with white. This time, he asked my hygienist if I had any cavities, and she said no. He said "does she have any unmet needs?" The hygienist said "you've already replaced her fillings". Then he looked down at me and asked if I want to have the flap of skin that attaches my lip to my gums removed. What the!? He thought I may want to then get braces since the flap of skin causes a small gap between my two front teeth. I said no. He said "I guess it's part of your character at this point." I'm 31... Never in my life has any dentist ever recommended braces, or removing skin. I can't tell you how angry I am about this, it's insulting. I've told all of my friends who are also clients. read more

I went there in February for an assessment for some dental work. The work entailed removing and replacing one crown and preparing the teeth and installing two additional crowns all while under anesthesia. They provided me with a "treatment plan" that totaled $5505, of which my portion would be $4005. After I reviewed the plan, I quickly saw that they called for a root canal for each tooth. I called and questioned why this was necessary since the one tooth had had a crown on it for 30+ years. She quickly called me back and said it was her mistake and she emailed me a revised treatment plan. This one totaled $3210 of which my portion would be $1710. I set the appointment and had the work done. After the work was done, I got the statement from my insurance company. The Dentistry had only billed them for 3 of the 6 items on my treatment plan. This caused me to look up the dental code for those 3 procedures. They were associated with root canals, to the tune of $585. So even though they knew not to bill the insurance company for these services since they couldn't perform them, they still billed me figuring out that I'd never know. I made several calls to a Nichole there at the Dentistry in Greentree. Each time she seemed apologetic and promised a call back, the call never came. I'd call again, then she told me that I had to wait until they got payment from my insurance company. I waited. She never called. I called again. This time she told me that it would take 30 days to process the return of my money. So I waited. No money. I called again. This time she said she'd check on the status and call me back, she never called. From my experience I believe that they're running a scam. This is unfortunate because the dental techs and hygienists were professional and courteous. I would caution anyone from using The Dentistry for any reason. If you're already under treatment, look carefully over your bill for fraudulent charges. I'll be calling my insurance company and letting them know as well as filing a small claims case. read more

I give the dentistry 3 stars because....yes the are friendly. ...yes they can fit you in right away....& most of the dentist there are very skilled. ...but my recent experience with the oral surgeon was horrifying. I had to have an extraction on 1 of my molars. ...everything started out normal...he introduced himself. ..they draped my neck....then he forgot to lidocaine my gums before he shot me with the novacaine (3 times)...then he held me down by my forehead to see if I had feeling in my tooth....when I said I did. ....he stuck me 3 more times.....that's when the horror of pulling out the tooth began. He didn't loosen it first so he was fighting to get it out...I had the feeling that if he could he would have straddled me with a knee on my chest to pull on it......when the tooth remained steadfast he got the drill which sounded like he was drilling my skull.....during this time his assistant was pulling my mouth in the other direction with the suction......finally my tooth surrendered....he pulled his fist from my mouth. ...give me the obligatory "you did great" and walked away......I was still gripping the arms on the chair....the assistant shove a chunk of gauze in my pats hand, hands me a tissue for my tears of horror & rushes my out before I can stop shaking.....the dentistry is great just dont let them pull your teeth unless you're asleep.....IT'S NOT FOR COWARDS! read more

I had a tooth that needed only a very small filling. When the dentist injected me with novocaine, she hit a nerve. I now have permanent nerve damage. My neurologist told me that this dentist evidently hit a peripheral nerve when she gave me the injection. I now live with a tingling sensation on the right side of my face 24/7. I was also told that I needed a root canal on one of my teeth. I got a second opinion and was told that I did not need a root canal. At this time this tooth (the one that supposedly needed the root canal) has never caused me any pain. This was my personal experience with The Dentistry. I went to The Dentistry because of the fact that they offered sedation. I have since returned to my regular dentist whom I trust wholeheartedly despite the fact that he does not use sedation. read more

They are always trying to up-sell you something when in for a routine cleaning: Fluoride Treatment, Water Pick, etc etc. Today they wanted a complete medical history - I have been going there for 5 years and wanted me to refill out a stack of papers. I am done there. One of the forms was a 48 hour cancellation policy or a $30 charge. They are not friendly there anymore and you are nothing but a cash cow to them. The people there were all very nice, but I was lead to believe it would be able to make small monthly payments, and then was informed it was going to be no more than 3 payments. So I would have to pay 3 payments of $1333 . When I told them I wasn't interested they informed me I'd be charged $55 for a prescription of antibiotics. This is not including the cost at the pharmacy. 55 just to write the script? I'll go to the pet store and get the same antibiotics for 13.99 read more
