Dr. Self is hands down the BEST pediatric dentist in the area. I am a dentist and I HAPPILY drive…read more45 minutes across town to see her (as do many other local dentists actually). Let me tell you why: From the first call, you can tell the service is going to be excellent. The woman who answered my call was friendly and helpful. I was not left talking to a robot or waiting on hold. They are out of network with all insurance, but PLEASE don't let this scare you off. They go out of their way to make sure you know your cost for the visit before hand, and for me and many insurances the cost is ZERO for a regular visit! Walking in, the office is clean and gorgeous, and I had absolutely no wait time before my appointment. They were helpful and understanding when I needed a hand with my little boys. For my three year old, there was a TV above the chair and Dr self is so nice, thorough and gentle. He was a little scared when we walked in, but by the end he was smiling and saying how much fun he has at the dentist. For my baby, she sang him a sweet little song while she did his exam and cleaning and he was happy the entire time. Her baby room is soo comfortable and he was having so much fun he didn't want to leave. She even gave us these sweet Polaroids of their first visit, what a nice touch. And as a prize, my 3 year old got a special coin to pick a prize from her machines, which he just went totally crazy for. But here is the reason you really need to come see her. She is conservative, caring and compassionate. If you've been told something by another dentist you don't have a good feeling about, come for a second opinion. If you are looking for a dental home you can trust your kids with, come here. Trust me, just come here. She offers you options about your child's treatment, and she values natural alternatives if they're a good option for your child. She looks at the whole picture, from diet to risk factors to airway issues to family risk factors. She sees a person, not a tooth. She truly cares so much about dentistry and children. I promise, you'll love your experience.

River Kids Pediatric Dentistry was wonderful! The staff were so sweet with the kids and immediately…read moreput them at ease. We had three kids being seen and the appointment was ran so efficiently. This was our youngest child's first dentist appointment and it couldn't have gone better. Dr Self was so patient and caring. The kids were asking when they get to come back. Definitely a 10/10 experience

This place is amazing. I wish the dentist was like this when I was growing up! My son looks forward…read moreto going because it's such a fun environment. They also show him how to brush his teeth properly. With a 3 year old, it's been great to get great habits built in early. He now loves to brush and floss his teeth! Highly recommend!

Had the WORST experience with Dr. Dimick. I've never been so disrespected by a so-called…read moreprofessional. I had called to establish dental care for my daughter in April (this month) and notified them on the phone call that I could see a developing cavity in my daughter's mouth. I specifically asked if they could treat cavities in office for her (knowing she's a toddler based on her birthdate) and they said they would need to do an evaluation and would do treatment a different day. They NEVER told ME DIRECTLY that they can't handle sedation treatments for toddlers. We proceeded to come in and evaluate the cavity only to be told they can't treat cavities in office for toddlers. And it wasnt in a polite "oh I'm sorry you were misinformed" or "I'm sorry there was a misunderstanding." No. Instead, Dr. Dimick rudely interrupted me, held her hand up, and told me she would read through transcripts that would show I was told. Lo and behold, the transcripts never show them telling me. Supposedly 5 months prior (December of 2025) when my husband was calling dentists to find a dentist for our kids, he was told. I was not told. And 5 months later when I'm calling to establish care and I'm specifically telling them there's a cavity, why would they not "reiterate" such vital information?! I would NEVER have wasted time and money there if they would've been transparent and upfront with me, and confided they that are unable to treat cavities in toddlers. What is the point of a pediatric dentist who can't treat?? And more so, a dentist who so rudely claims to have told me things they did not. Absolute insanity and a waste of time. A scam of a dentist as I've found to be common in this area...Take money from you and claim they "evaluated" but doesn't have the ability to treat. It's laughable if I weren't having to pay out of pocket for wasted appointment and X-rays.
