Tonight Doc got us reservations for a Speakeasy Mystery Crawl in Nashville. The COLD night air confirmed I better buy a black coat to match the new black dress since they have a dress code. Thankfully I found a bedazzled light weight black coat for $30, bling earrings and a ring to get into the mood for this evening's 7:30 pm event. This shop did not have that musty smell like Goodwill or Savers. We'd shop for music or Big Sky bears ages ago but not clothes. I think watching Twilight Zone in my school age years gave me the Willie's of wearing someone else's clothes. Hub's aunty even told them she had nightmares with her own mom's clothes when she passed. Hopefully the one sage bundle i saw in the shop will be cleansing enough with my purchases. Hubs stayed in the car with Grandpup and Doc decided to go next door and treated us to coffee. I adore how community-minded they are- almost everything in the store is intentionally curated and locally sourced. They carry everything from greeting cards (these were some of the best I've ever seen) and stationery to home goods and apparel. There's so much life and personality inside and out! Even the smallest of details like their take on the traditional "Please don't steal" signs are fun. The owners are absolutely rad. One gal chatted with me as I poked around the store and shared so many tidbits about their products, local makers they support, and the community Thunder Moon Collective is curating. You can really tell that they are so in love with what they do. Supporting local and shopping small is so heartwarming here and everywhere.

My mom and I both were impressed with the high quality of the clothing as we often seen bourbon themed clothing made for trend and not durability. These tees and tops were fantastic and the price point was reasonable. Whiskey Water is on my 'to visit' list next time I'm in Nashville and I'll be bringing extra cash to stock up gifts for my Kentucky girls!

The whole place is much bigger than I thought at first. Although I stick out a bit while shopping there, the staff was friendly and helpful. The best find of the day was a red glitter waist belt that was only $10. It's almost like a department store in its variety. They have men's and women clothing and shoes. They also have women's undergarments (really?) and lots of brightly colored costume jewelry. I don't plan on making this a regular stop on my shopping trips, but if the clothes are more your style you might consider it.

I got the general impression that it wouldn't exactly be my style, but I felt like giving it a try anyway. 615 mostly sells urban style clothing. I couldn't find any shirts in a size smaller than 'large,' but they actually stock some pretty sharp and vibrant items. They have three piece suits for pretty low prices as well as casual and dressy shirts, pants and blazers. They also have women's and children's clothes, most of which are also pretty urban. They do stock Dickies and other relatively common brands at 615, and if you look hard enough, you could probably find a deal on a polo shirt or something. However, if you don't commonly dress with hip-hop style flair, it probably won't be your speed. The store is pretty large and the staff was helpful, but they don't have much in the way of jeans or plain t-shirts. If you're super-flashy and looking for a sharp suit, a sparkly skirt or some brightly colored bandannas, this is your spot. Otherwise, you might want to skip it.

The blocks occupied feel like its own little community in the middle of the bigger city. It definitely has it's own vibe and is uniquely East Nashville. When we are in East, we normally make it point to stop in a shop or two. International Coffee, Galena Garlic and Adobe Mercantile are usually spots we frequent when wandering around, and Gift Horse is a cool place for a quirky or local gift for folks. Food wise, Maru and East Creamery are always on point and hit the spot! Hours of each shop differ, so make sure you look specifically at the hours of the places you want to visit. There is no real consistency amongst the shops from an overall hours perspective, which can be a tad frustrating. Parking is a bit wonky as well, nothing really dedicated at all times. There are a few pay lots nearby and street parking is plentiful in the area. Overall, Shoppes on Fatherland is a cool East community and is a good spot to spend a little time when you have nothing going on. It's always an after or before dinner/drink place for us.

He didn't know if they were real gold and had to look it up. No issue there - until I wrote down the brand name to research later (I'm from Vegas, so I can't just come back). Suddenly, he told me it was "rude" to do that in a small business. Completely unnecessary, especially since he'd already told me the brand. The whole exchange was embarrassing and left me feeling unwelcome. I decided not to buy the ring, returned it to its display, and left. Later, I found out he even asked my sister if I had "walked out with the ring." Accusing a customer of theft after they politely put something back is beyond insulting. Plenty of great small businesses in Nashville - this is not one of them.

The shop is arranged beautifully inside. She has great taste as can be seen with the items she has chosen to sell - from clothing to jewelry, hats, home goods, accessories and carefully curated vintage cowgirl boots. No matter what you're looking for or your budget, you will find something here. The neighborhood is a great area for shopping, eating and walking around. Don't miss this place!
