Price: $300 per man per day **will do specified job only (Tony did do special touches..custom Windows paint, my bench) **Owner buys paint, caulk, etc **NO estimates--Tony comes and starts work from day one DAY ONE--prep day..washing down walls, caulking, covering Windows, etc. DAY TWO--trim painting and repairing chewed up siding DAY 3--more painting and painted concrete porch Tony is reliable, Shows up on time. Quick efficient painter Pays attention to Detail. I hired him to paint...and that he did 5***** His price is lower because homeowner has to do some prepping, moving items but i gave him the GO to move anything in his way. I had to do cleanup . Small kine mess. Plastic, paint can lids, etc. However for the low charge and great painting service..NO Problem!! read more

I would not use this person. Anthony seemed nice and the house looked nice immediately after he painted it. But by day 2 the steps, trim and soffits were peeling. A couple months later there were a number of areas of paint bubbling and cracking. A year and a half later we are looking at needing a new paint job as a number of areas are cracking and peeling. We asked him out to fix the issues. He said he would fix the steps, but the only time he was actually going to come was a day it was raining. He looked up at obvious cracks in the paint in the soffits (see pictures) and denied there was any problem. He blamed the problem on prior paint jobs and an old house. However, our last 2 paint jobs did not have these problems and were good for over 7 years. When we complained he also said that since it was cheap we could just get it painted every couple of years. Every other painter we talked to conveyed that the jobs should last 6-8 years. We used high quality paint. It seems much more apparent that the current problems are due to inadequate preparation. We have tried to resolve the issue with him and the only response we get is how satisfied all his customers are. From the reviews, that does not always seem to be the case. Incredible work. Just came from inspecting my one-bedroom condo that Anthony painted and was floored. Learning a lot about this process, so I could have made my life easier by just listening to Anthony about the color and type of paint. But beyond that, he was timely, easy to work with and gracious - did a last minute patch job on my ceiling(!) and made my place look brand new. Great work and highly recommend his services. Listen to Anthony, communicate frequently and clearly, and dont get cheap paint - you wont get a better deal for the $$$ and you wont be disappointed. read more

The Day Rate Painter advertises like crazy on craigslist. They won't provide an estimate but claims their rate is $250/day. I emailed them with several questions (how many people show up to paint? Is it $250/day per painter? Do they do the usual prep work - wash off mold, sand down rusty nails, etc.? Do they spray or roll the walls? etc.) and got a response from someone named Anthony Harding saying to call him. I called several times and got the answering machine each time. Left two messages. Still waiting for a return call. I don't know the quality of The Day Rate Painter's work, but their initial customer service sucks. I gave the job to someone who took the time to come over, take a look at the job and provide a detailed quote. read more

Anthony mentioned he would come by on Saturday, July 19, 2014. I called him many times to confirm the time and give him my address. He never answered the phone, and he never called back. On Monday, he answered the phone and said he couldn't make it out this week. I mentioned that I was upset and that he advertised reliability, and saying he was coming out on Saturday, and staying away from correspondence is not reliable. He said the reason he didn't come by is because I didn't give him an address. He knew full well from the previous conversation that I would give him the address once we confirmed a time. I said lets talk about it. He began a long diatribe and I was just listening until he hung up the phone on me. This is obviously not the professional I would ever want to deal with. read more

A few months ago Anthony was hired to refinish a room. He worked quickly and focused on some areas while leaving other spots incomplete. He was paid for two days work, but complained more than a teenager for finishing to our liking on the second day, 10am. read more

I just had Anthony paint my 1-bedroom apartment in about 7 hours. While there was a bit of confusion whether they would show up, it was quickly resolved and Anthony got to my place about 9:15 am, rather than the 8:00 am original time. He is the owner and is rightly proud of his service. Very efficient painter who did great prep work prior to the actual painting. Paint job was great! While I did find a couple of small paint drops on the carpet after he had left. I believe he was pretty thorough with drop cloths. Quick service and a 10% senior discount! Honestly, at first I was a little skeptical about calling this place because of the other negative reviews. I decided to give them a chance and met with Anthony and his painter. I felt like Anthony was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his work so I decided to go with them. Just as their advertisement says they are dependable, reliable and on time! I tried calling for days but only got the answering machine and left several messages but no one called me back. I was about to give up but thought I would try again and was surprised when Anthony picked up. He said that he thought one of the other guys were taking the messages but they were not but that he would be answering the phone from now on so that the calls would be answered. He seemed very nice and when I asked if someone could come to my place to give me an estimate, he said the soonest would be about two weeks away since they only do it sat between 8-10 am. They were suppose to come June 11 but did not show up. I tried calling several times but all I got was the answering machine saying that they are a company that always shows up and is always on time. And your call is very important so leave a message and someone will get back to you. What a lie. Of course I gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured there was some mistake but after calling and leaving messages and getting no response, I realize that they are a company that just does not care. The thing that gets me is why they would lead me to believe they would take my job if they had no intention of doing it. I wasted two weeks on them when I could have gotten someone else. BEST PAINTERS ON ISLAND! Jimmy and two associates painted my entire 2 story house and garage in 3 days. The quality of work was the best I've seen. Jimmys guys meticulously ensure complete paint coverage, even raking back landscaping stone to ensure they paint BELOW and there are no tacky paint lines. I have white trim on my house and 22 windows, so there was a lot to tape off, but jimmys team was able to do all the prep in half a day and there is no bleed over on the trim or paint on the windows! Typical bait and switch. Quoted $250 showed up with a $500 bill for me. Said he two guys on the job, not my problem. Did not cover my carpet, spilled paint, complained, and very argumentative. He did three coats, one color, started at 10AM done by two. Glad to be rid of him. Don't book unless he quotes the job first. read more

We highly recommend Tony as a dependable, pleasant, reasonable, quick & tidy worker for painting and drywall work. In May, we first used him when the drywall in our bathrm peeled off to the fuzzy cardboard part. The area he patched blended right in, the job was completed in 1.5 hrs & he cleaned up the work area beautifully. Next job he did was when our TV wall-mount had to be reinstalled & it left 6 quarter size holes & a big electric socket hole in our wall. Tony patched it up, painted the damaged wall & even insisted on painting the adjoining wall so that the paint would be matched. All was completed & cleaned up in 2 hours. He provided an estimate of $1000 to scrape the popcorn off the ceiling in our 750 sq.ft. apt. Our neighbor paid someone else $3000 to have her ceiling scraped, textured and painted. The best thing about Tony is that he shows up exactly at the specified time, he does a great job and that he is diligent about cleaning up the workspace. Each job cost us less than $200. read more

Wish there was a negative with the one star ! Anthony was referred to me by my drywaller, he showed up looked at the entire sm house that was being drywalled, we told him it would be ready after Friday, Antony told me how much of the paint to buy and to send him a e mail so he would have my address, well I did this and followed up after each e mail with a phone call, he does not answer, so I left a message, Next day I e mailed and called again, He finally called back to say he can't do the job for another week, at this point I had emptied the house to the garage, even the kitchen sink !!! He said he did not get my e mails from his web page, no excuse as I called after each e mail. This was a definite job for him , that he took a week prior , when he first came to the house, with a definite date to start. Maybe he should spend less time and money with his advertising , and more time being professional ! I don't know if he got a better job or closer job or what, ! I actually wasn't sure if any painter would be able to help me with the several stipulations I had; calling around on a Tuesday, wanting it done by Saturday and a living room. I did my best at the primer job, but owner came as promised time, redid some areas with the actual caulking than painted till done and asked me along the way to look if areas needed touch up. Very pleased with the job, knowledge and completing in the time frame I needed. Would defiantly use him again. read more

Anthony was great! Showed up on time and was very tidy and efficient. Had a bathroom medicine cabinet removed and installed, some drywall patching/texturing as well as the usual painting.
