Teeth are weird. I'm one of those people who didn't have their wisdom teeth removed as a teenager…read more My dentist was concerned that one of my wisdom teeth was tilted too close to a molar and sent a referral to Crescent Oral Surgery. After calling their office a few times and receiving follow-up calls, I didn't have a good impression of their office organization. My dentist sent xrays and photos to their office, but everyone I talked to at Crescent Oral Surgery couldn't access the email. I had to explicitly tell them that I was copied on the email and can send it to them. Their staff sent an email to me that I used to respond back with the xrays and photos. I filled out their online patient form and later that day received a phone call from their office telling me that my dentist sent a referral and asked if I wanted to book an appointment, which was odd because I already booked an appointment. Crescent Oral Surgery is located on the second floor of Hillcrest Mall, so it was easy to find parking. I arrived early as they had asked, and waited about 10-15 minutes before being taken into the procedure room. One of their medical staff confirmed why I was there and measured my blood pressure and heart rate. I was seen by Dr. Mousavifar who was pleasant and had great bedside manner. I opted for local anesthesia and didn't feel a thing. The medical staff also explained what to do/not to do post-surgery and provided a printout. After the procedure, the office staff submitted a claim to my insurance on my behalf so that a portion of the cost would be reimbursed. Overall I thought it was a good experience, but you definitely have to drive the conversation when booking the appointment.

I nearly lost consciousness from pain. Also he broke the other tooth (wasn't part of the procedure) while he was removing crown and now my family doctor said I have to put implant in there so this visit will cost me more money. I'll avoid coming there ever again.

However, I can rate the services of the front office and the premise. First of all, Dr. Alfred Chu is an oral surgeon with 3 offices. He does not do general dentistry. All consultations are by appointments only. This particular office is located in an unassuming plaza that looks like an industrial plaza. The sign out front is small. You blink and you would miss it. Once inside, the office looks like a self-respecting medical office. It is clean. There is a roomy seating/waiting area, and a clean public restroom. The front counter is the "customer facing" front, so to speak. The two ladies are friendly and patient. When I asked the 1000th question, she was still kind and relaxed, and answered it. The efficiency of the paperwork processing is mind blowing. On the phone, I was told the exact paperwork and IDs that I had to bring with me to the appointment. The patient form has all the legal permissions required, from filing for insurance to disclosure of private information for audit purposes. I paid for the services with my own credit card. The office lady filed the insurance claim for reimbursement on my behalf before I stepped out of the office, all in 5 minutes. Of course I can complain about the outdated Readers' Digest in the waiting room. Or I can care where it counts: the medical and non-medical services.

Would have been nice to be told I had to pay upfront, was given no warning. My family has no money for groceries until I can get the insurance money back. Will never return. I'm a big baby in the dentist chair and he understands and respects that :D He gently cleans my teeth manually because my teeth were too sensitive for the ultrasonic cleaner. There's a big TV on the wall facing the chair and I watch my fav program while Dr Baik does his work and time seems to pass quickly. A regular check and clean takes about 35 mins. We have recommended many friends to NYS Dental and all of them are happy we did :)

Dr Baik and Kim, his assistant are simply amazing. Every time I go into the dentist office I always see Kim and she is so friendly and nice. I never have to wait as they are always on time. So now let me get to the good part. The best part of going to North York Square (NYS) Dental is simply because I have never met such an amazing dentist. Dr Baik takes the time to examine my teeth and does not try and rush though it. I never feel like I have been butchered like some other dentist offices where I feel like I was put though torture. So I would give Dr Baik 5 stars for just the cleaning. However, if I could give 10 out of 5 stars for real dental work (fillings ...) I would say Dr Baik is the best. I have went to a lot of different dentists and I have never had it where I walked in for a filling and walked out thinking did I just get a filling. He seems to have this special skill on how to freeze your mouth without you even knowing it unlike those horrible dentists who feel like they just jam that needle in your mouth. I am being 100% honest and if you really want to go to a dentist that you feel comfortable with and actually not want to feel any pain then I would recommend NYS Dental to everyone. Thank you so much and I am happy to give this review.

So you can imagine how I was dreading my visit to the oral surgeon. Thank goodness for Dr. Moncarz and the rest of the staff here. They were amazing. Friendly. Patient. Funny. Thorough. Dr. Moncarz himself was funny, friendly, and took the time to explain things to me in as much depth as I wanted. I was greatly reassured by the time I left my consultation appointment and arrived for my surgery feeling only minimally nervous. I was seen exactly on time for all of my appointments and everything seemed quite efficient while I was being seen. The staff were willing to work with me to book appointments around my crazy schedule. Dr Moncarz made sure I was armed with enough medications to deal with the pain I'd have after having four wisdom teeth (two impacted) removed under general anesthetic. He also reviewed the post-op instructions me with as well as providing a detailed handout that I could read again later. I even received a call from the office the day after my surgery checking in to see how things were going and address any questions. One star off because the clinic is a bit cluttered and the kind of dirty that happens when a place has been open for years and years. I have no concerns about safety (and I'm a nurse - I feel like I'm a pretty good judge of cleanliness and sterility), but the appearance of the place could have been more reassuring. That said, I was thrilled with the whole team and everything went as well as can be expected when you're having teeth yanked out of your head. I'd definitely recommend Dr. Moncarz should you ever be in need of similar services.

I had a simple check up & the Dr.told me I need to get a tooth(moler) removed(as I was having some discomfort there) I was told that I also had another piece of something attached to the root of my moler that needed to be pulled as well. I was treated with so much care from Dr Ebrahimi to all the Ladies(staff) who always had a smile & kind words to make me feel more comfortable I was put to sleep due to some health issues & before I knew it...it was all over. The procedure took about 1/2hr & I was home relaxing & recovering within an hr. I had pain for the first day (which the Dr.warned me about) & it seemed to slow down by the next few days. I had a post op" appointment the following week & Dr Ebrahimi said everything looks great the gums are healing well. I have to say that this dentist office is so wonderful. I have been to the Danforth dentist office to & they are all amazing there to. I can't stop saying such nice things about this place. Your in good hands when you come here. Thank you Dr Ebrahimi & all your staff for everything.

While removing one tooth, he destroyed two more adjacent teeth. When leaving his office, I was given the statement. Later on when I was back to my normal state of mind, I looked into the statement. The amount charged to my credit card was different from what I paid before the procedure. This second payment was charged without my authorization. The amount for bone regeneration increased from $820 to $ 1050. Also, the statement showed another "bone regeneration" the Dr. Yarmand claimed has been done, although there were no cuts, stitches or threads in that place of my mouth. To extract destroyed teeth and complete the project, I went to another surgeon. Unlike Dr. Yarmand, this other Doctor performed all procedures under local anesthesia as I requested. He did not request a one-thousand- dollar deposit before the procedure. Payments were taken only upon the completion of each procedure. For each procedure, he charged amounts the same as on the estimates. Every time, my credit card was charged in front of me. The price for each implant was 20% lower than with Mr. Yarmand. To follow-up on the second version of Dr. Yarmand response. 1. Dr. Yarmand declined my specific request for local anaesthesia in favour of IV ($680+$60). Regarding, "IV sedation comfort", the nurse tried to insert a needle into my vein 3 times. Then, she called for help another nurse who was able to get into my vein on her 2nd attempt. 2. According to the 1-st payment receipt, my credit card was charged at 9:18 a.m. in front of me before the procedure. According to the 2nd payment receipt, my credit card was charged 2nd time with different amount (to replace the 1st charge) at 12:16 p.m. without my knowledge while I was still in the operating area. According to the wall clock in the operating area, I left this area at 12:22 p.m.( 6 min after my card was charged). 3. When I asked Dr. Yarmand about my destroyed teeth he did not apologize, did not express regret about the damage he did to me. I was in shock. I couldn't discuss anything with him anymore. To replace destroyed teeth with implants, I paid $10K to another surgeon.
