Teeth are weird. I'm one of those people who didn't have their wisdom teeth removed as a teenager. My dentist was concerned that one of my wisdom teeth was tilted too close to a molar and sent a referral to Crescent Oral Surgery. After calling their office a few times and receiving follow-up calls, I didn't have a good impression of their office organization. My dentist sent xrays and photos to their office, but everyone I talked to at Crescent Oral Surgery couldn't access the email. I had to explicitly tell them that I was copied on the email and can send it to them. Their staff sent an email to me that I used to respond back with the xrays and photos. I filled out their online patient form and later that day received a phone call from their office telling me that my dentist sent a referral and asked if I wanted to book an appointment, which was odd because I already booked an appointment. Crescent Oral Surgery is located on the second floor of Hillcrest Mall, so it was easy to find parking. I arrived early as they had asked, and waited about 10-15 minutes before being taken into the procedure room. One of their medical staff confirmed why I was there and measured my blood pressure and heart rate. I was seen by Dr. Mousavifar who was pleasant and had great bedside manner. I opted for local anesthesia and didn't feel a thing. The medical staff also explained what to do/not to do post-surgery and provided a printout. After the procedure, the office staff submitted a claim to my insurance on my behalf so that a portion of the cost would be reimbursed. Overall I thought it was a good experience, but you definitely have to drive the conversation when booking the appointment. read more

I had very painful experience with Crescent Oral Surgery. Doctor put a needle in my swollen jaw without applying any preliminary freezing solution (like all dentist did to me before). I nearly lost consciousness from pain. Also he broke the other tooth (wasn't part of the procedure) while he was removing crown and now my family doctor said I have to put implant in there so this visit will cost me more money. I'll avoid coming there ever again. read more

Crescent is a FIRST CLASS organization from the Doctors to the nursing staff to the great people that schedule your appointment. They really do care about their patients. If I could, I would give this place 0 stars. I was so disappointed and offended that I had to write a review (and I think this is actually my first Yelp review). Please trust me, do not choose this place for your surgery. Ask your doctor to give you a referral to anywhere but here. My husband got dental surgery last weekend, and not only did they forget to print his prescription, they gave him someone else's prescription, releasing another patient's full name, date of birth, address, and health card number. (If you are a patient that just had surgery and has a birthday of 07/10, I have your personal information). The level of unprofessionalism this clinic had, and the way they have dealt with this situation, is just crazy. My husband was in pain longer then he had to be without a proper prescription. If you or your loved one wants to be in pain, please pick this clinic. If not, go somewhere else, anywhere else. read more

Save for one duplicate form request and some back and forth regarding an unannounced change in my appointment day/time, the team was organized, attentive, and very friendly. I have no concerns whatsoever with the level of care I received and I would unreservedly refer my friends and family to see Dr. Shamji and the team at Crescent. read more

First and foremost experience was so terrible. I had an appointment booked for over a month and they made me sit for an hour before I could see a doctor. What was the point of giving an appointment then ? The service was average ... wouldn't recommend anyone who is paying so much money for this terrible service. read more

This practice literally stole money from me. I pay for all of my dental work. When I called to book the appointment to have two broken teeth removed after living with 10 days of acute pain over the holidays, I disclosed my entire background and concerns about being treated in a timely fashion. I had also been to Crescent 2 years prior for same issue - different tooth. They told me first I need to come in for $110 consult. when I expressed concern at how long I would have to wait thereafter for an actual treatment appointment since I'm one of those people that must (not optional) be asleep - they told me end of january worst case and at the Jan 9 appt they would try to bring that forward. I expressed how concerned I was that the consult wouldn't answer my questions / provide value - they assured me it would and flat out told me I would be treated in January. So cut to Jan. 9 - I go in for my 10:10 appt - wait 30 min only to be seen by a dentist that says there's no way I can be seen in January and likely not for quite some time thereafter. And he has no understanding of the information I expressed when booking the appointment - he tried to push local anaesthesia on me - a complete disregard of my needs as a patient. It's important to note - I spoke to 2 people including business manager on 3 different occasions before confirming the consult. I understand that the so called 'asleep dentists' share the same pool of limited anesthesiologists and they only get them once a month - but all of that was discussed before they set my expectations for january treatment. They essentially led me in under false pretences- they effectively stole $110 from me. And the consult was a complete waste of my time further triggering my anxiety. luckily I found another oral surgeon that confirmed they could see me for actual treatment on Feb. 6 before taking my money and they offered free x-rays. It's really really sad what has happened to the dental industry over the last 15-20 years. It's endemically geared toward a business of squeezing insurance providers for as much money as possible through low value consults and unnecessary x-rays. If you're self-employed or retired and have to pay your own way - you get robbed. Adding further insult to injury - they share the same pool of anesthesiologists - but no regulatory oversight for what can charge. In 2017 I spent over $12,000 on dental work - the vast proportion of which went to being put to sleep. The cost for that service ranged by provider from $400 to $1500 for a single visit. Lastly - there's absolutely no excuse for not being able to confirm appointments for both the consult and treatment upfront. Any excuse not to is nothing but a scam to get you in door while remaining completely unaccountable toward proving real help and solutions to a patient. I expressed calmly my perspective to the office before paying and leaving and she gave nothing but lame excuses - throwing her admin staff under the bus. I was referred by my dentist for the removal of two partially impacted lower wisdom teeth. The experience was horrible. I ended up with sever complications and it took the clinic a full week of me following up several times a day before I got proper attention and they admitted the damage they had caused. Oral surgery: 5/5. No complaints. Wonderfully done. Receptionists/Administrative procedure: 3/5. Could be better, but it's not terrible. My oral surgeon was Dr. Kris Lee, and I was referred here by my dentist for wisdom teeth extraction (bottom two impacted, and top two intact). I was originally worried looking at the other two reviews, but after going through the procedure (post-3 days), I'm quite satisfied and very happy. You may not get along with all of the receptionists working here, but it's not THAT bad. Just make sure you have your payment method ready, and ask questions before the day of the surgery. I was lucky to have a wonderful nurse/assistant who soothed away all my fears before the surgery. I took the IV drip (twilight sedation), and didn't even know when I fell asleep. I woke up afterwards, and everything was done. Dr. Lee is a wonderful oral surgeon. It's been 3 days, and although I'm taking the pain medication prescribed to me, I have felt zero discomfort or pain at all. The worse was just a mild soreness that came with the swelling (gone after day 2). My tip: Use google to stay informed (foods you can eat after the procedure, do not suck through straw), but DON'T scare yourself by thinking anything major is gonna happen. The only critiques I have: #1) I kinda felt like I was being rushed out the door after my procedure, and didn't even get help for my insurance papers after I requested them. I was kinda too out of it with the sedation thing to notice it then, though. #2) I felt like there was some underlying sass, and perhaps insult, from one of the receptionists when I didn't realize my payment method (debit card) had a limit. The issue was resolved, but I would've appreciated some understanding instead of the 'we've never had a case like this before, you're the first one.' That comment made me feel like shit, and I was honestly already flustered enough after spending the night before scaring myself with google. Overall, the oral procedure itself was flawless (thanks Dr. Lee + assistant!). The only bumps I felt were with with the administrative stuff. Hope your trip goes well! :D Suggestions for administration: Some of the people coming in may be unaware, and have very little knowledge, of the oral procedure. They may not even know what questions they should ask, due to their limited understanding. To avoid this, those acting as 'informants' for the paid concession period could provide some prompts, or maybe even a list of common questions, which would be helpful in mitigating fear/anxiety. read more

I am not one to write bad reviews, but for the first time in my life I am going through a very rough painful time. I only had one lower wisdom tooth removed. First night all was fine. Within 2 nights I had excruciating pain. As the pain did not go away a few days later I was starting to worry about a dry socket or infection. I read online about the symptoms and I checked all the boxes. Day 4 I called Oral Crescent because the pain had not reduced. They told me it was a peak period and it should be gone "soon". They hung up without any further information. Seems like they didn't even care to even have the thought I was right about anything I said. Day 7 I was still having intense throbbing pain and swelling from my temple down to my lower neck and jaw. My mom told me to just go see my regular dentist. He didn't even look in my mouth, I told him all my symptoms and instantly said its due to swelling and infection. Here I am on day 9 and I'm now taking antibiotics when I should have started DAYS ago. Thanks to this lovely compassionate company who gets paid probably 2 or 3 times more then my hard working local dentist, they took my 1000 dollars and did absolutely nothing to help me when I knew something was wrong in the first place. Clearly people are in these well paying industries for the money not for the passion of the work or patients. I should have looked at the past reviews on this place before I went. That's my mistake. I had limited choices due to COVID. Do not go here for surgery. I have never felt pain like this in my life and no one should feel this much pain this long. Can't eat, sleep or do anything from how distractingly painful this truly is. I would give them one star but I can still feel my face so I guess they aren't a complete failure as a company. Otherwise i would be doing more then just a bad review online. Be safe and be smart people. read more

I was referred to this office as my five year old had a tooth removed, a piece of root was left after the extraction. The Dr came on time, and reviewed the e-rays supplied by the referring dentist, another x-ray was taken, which I understood. A fee of 85 for the x ray. We were given a date in December. A week or two later we were contacted again and the date moved up to Nov 3. They put him first in the morning as with the procedure he was to be knocked out. This first in the morning is so that they don't have to fast all morning/day. So it was nice to simply get him up and into the dentist early. A great strategy with the kids. It appeared there were other kids as well there in the AM. The staff was pleasant and great with my little guy. They took us to a side room , examination room to be met by the surgeon. He came within a few minutes and went over the procedure and asked if any questions. The anesteiologist came a few minutes later and checked in as well confirming the procedure. She was great too. He was taken to the room in which they would knock him out and do the procedure. All staff seemed professional, its nice to have confidence in these cases. I felt good with his caregivers. 15-20 minutes later the staff came out and said he was done, he was in recovery, it would be a few minutes later. I met him as he was still groggy and a little angry..lol The staff there were great too. In fact the nurse/assistant made him a paper/ origami turtle and star. (nice touch, thank you) The surgeon came in a few minutes later and briefed me on the procedure. all went well. Instructed on pain meds, eating, drinking, etc. The office did follow up with a call later that day, and again the next day. I did pay before the procedure, I understand this and in fact agree, Id rather pay before hand than with a 5 yr old pissed off and angry in my arms. I do believe that that some people can become "not nice" after the anaesthetic wears off, hence the payment before and not after. I would recommend this offce to anyone, I would use them again. My experience with this clinic was awful! I contacted this clinic to book an appointment and spoke with Chantal the receptionist, but she put me on hold as soon as she picked up the phone! After holding the phone for 10 minutes, I hung up and called back but she wanted to put me on hold again and I told her that I was already on a long hold and only need to make an appointment quickly, but she started talking to me in a very rude way and was going to put me on hold again, but I asked her to call me back when she's free. I called back after not hearing from her for Two hours as I didn't want them to close, but she was very rude and despite telling her about my emergency situation and that how much pain I was taking, she wouldn't give me an appointment until next month! I will never contact this clinic again and DON'T recommend this poor and rude service from their receptionist... read more
