Went to buy dance wear for ballet for my sister and I'm so glad I came across this store. Walked in and the place was spacious and had lots of dance wear in stock (ballet, gymnastics etc). This place is massive and has the best selection of dancewear I have come across in the GTA. It is a bit of a trek from downtown but definitely worth it. They carry so many brands and up to date styles and everything is nicely organized. The space itself is airy and spacious. They have a really comprehensive selection from warm ups, to activewear, to shoes, and accessories. There are lots of change rooms and everything is super clean. The staff when I went were friendly and knowledgable about their products. If you can't make it down to the shop, they have a really well organized online store as well. However, I would suggest checking the size charts of each individual brand carefully as I find a lot of variation between different brands' sizing. Tights are final sale but you can return/exchange unworn leotards within 60 days. read more

As my fiancee doesn't use Yelp, I decided to write a review in her place. We live near Downsview and decided to walk to the Best Buy at Wilson station. On our way home we happened to walk past this hidden little gem. My fiancee who is a salsa freak to put it mildly, needed no persuading to venture inside... The shop is very clean and seemed to have a decent selection. I say decent as my fiancee tried on several different pairs of "practice shoes" (not heeled) and left with a pair of practice shoes for $34. Let me clarify that we've just moved from Madrid, Spain which has a huge salsa scene and the same type of shoes would go for about 60 EUR ($85 CAD), so definitely a bargain (they were on sale though). Both the assistants were cheerful and helpful and didn't seem to mind grabbing more shoes. They weren't pushy by any means and I would imagine that we will return in the future again due to it's convenient location. I wanted to purchase Latin dance shoes for this weekend, but I was delayed and by the time I got to the store, it was only about 20 minutes before closing time. I was happy to get helpful assistance fairly quickly from one of the women working there. Turns out I needed a smaller size than my usual 7 or 7.5 shoe size in some styles. So, that meant she ended up getting 3 different sizes of a few shoes, in an attempt to find the right fit for me. As they knew I wanted to buy a pair ASAP, they did not rush me out of the store by closing time. They made sure I had time to try pairs until I was satisfied with the shoes I was selecting. I came here primarily to shop for ballet gear for my class so I'll be reviewing purely based on that. After browsing a few other shops, Dancewear Centre appeared to have the cheapest prices on the exact same styles of leotards and tights. The girl working there was polite and patient with helping me find an appropriate leotard. She seemed to be quite experienced with the sizing because without even asking me she already handed me an armful in the proper size. I didn't linger too long there other than to try on leotards. Extensive collection of dance and exercise clothing. I had a problem with the heal of a character shoe and they were quick to contact the manufacturer and replace the shoe. They can get pretty busy so for shoe fitting it's best to call and book a time. read more

went there a few days ago for the first time and its deffinitely the place to go to for dancewear. i totally recommend this store to anyone whos lookin for great service and awesome selection. their bodysuit section.. goes on forever. so many pretty leotards. i probably tried on every leotard in the store haha. i give it 5/5 :) read more

I went there last week to buy dancing shoes. There were only two other clients in the store, so I certainly didn't expect to spend almost 2 hours there... There were two young girls working in the store and both were extremely slow and inattentive. I actually had to walk across the store to get some help, as one of the girls was at the back for 15 minutes and another didn't respond to my calls being totally engaged in her iPhone. After trying a few pairs (and waiting for 10+ minutes to get each pair - I can only imagine what kind of mess they have at the back) I picked 2 pairs, one regularly priced, another on sale. The amount I paid seemed wrong, so I checked my bill and noticed that I was charged regular price of $199 for the pair that was on sale for $129. I asked the girl and she told me that the sale price doesn't show in the computer, so it must be some mistake there... You would expect that they'll respect the sale price and refund the difference, right? Nope. She told me that she can't do anything but I can return this pair and get refund. Needless to say, I will not set foot in this store again and buy my dance shoes elsewhere. read more

I don't usually order on-line (I'm 64 years old) my kids say "get with it mom, it's secure". So, I took a 'leap of faith.' I went there to buy jazz shoes for my daughter. They were busy, disorganized, and it was a frustrating experience as they addressed clients who had arrived after us. Further, in another question that I made, the manager was rude. I do not recommend this store. read more
