Overall they had a fantastic time. There was a lot to take part in which we had neither the time nor desire to do so on this visit (skating rink, pickleball, video game arcade, billiards and golf). I appreciated the age segregation as it prevented horseplay from older aged ones from harming younger children. The restrooms seemed far from the play area. It was a great source of entertainment but you have to keep a close eye on small children. My one criticism was that there were props in one of the play areas that were very heavy and could harm someone if they hit someone; they also posed a tripping hazard. They were shaped like a giant Swiss cheese wheel. Bounce is conveniently located in the Galleria Mall, so there is ample free parking.

Fine, but when I asked where because it was our first time, she just pointed generally. Not a great first impression. Multiple attractions closed. No attendee for mini golf, multiple employees walked by or just informed me I needed to wait (and no indication whether anyone was in their way, etc). Same experience again waiting for roller skates (and again when we realized we were given 2 left skates). Multiple employees had no idea what the "all day pass" was and kept asking me to buy additional tickets to things. Laser tag was running but we weren't allowed to go just the two of us - needed to wait for a bday party. (Shout out to the laser tag attendee tho - he was very kind). $10 arcade card was empty (they rectified it, but annoying to have to wait again). Arcade games ate credits or didn't have balls/etc to actually play. So many staffing/operational breakdowns, just not worth it.

Linda and Chester are great teachers who are passionate teachers whom I have had the pleasure of learning from over the past two decades. Swing dancing is contagious: it is so vibrant and it can bring you out of the worst funk in your life. I must say that when you are in "the zone", you feel like dancing until 4 in the morning. Dance is the universal language that everyone understands. It is also a safe way for one to express oneself without fear of being chastised or ridiculed. All of the dances and classes are very open to newcomers, and believe me, the dance world is one of the most welcoming and most wonderful places to let your true self shine. At the end of every dance night, I feel super charged with energy, realizing that I could have danced all night, because the energy I feel from the enthusiastic crowd is amazing. My partner and I had never danced together before, really, and my partner sort of always shied away from dancing in general. Anyhow we are having a small adventure reception but wanted a polished dance. I absolutely love dancing and it is just so fun. So we looked them up and did an initial drop in dance "class". It was absolutely great - they asked us a few questions, helped us pick out our song and showed us a few simple moves to get us started. That first hour blew by and blew our minds and what a great opportunity this would be. Initially my partner didn't want a whole choreographed show but after that first lesson and understanding Linda & Chester's style in choreography we decided to buy the choreography package! Although we haven't had our reception yet we are absolutely blown away by the lessons we have taken over the last couple of months with them. The ease and clarity of the choreography which is designed each step of the way to match our abilities and style is great! Plus they had no issues at all with us having our baby in tow - who's favorite time during our lessons was spinning around the room! We have one final lesson left before our big send off but we are over the moon about our experience with Linda and Chester and can't wait for their social dances to pick back up so we can attend! Additionally, we have even talked about just continuing to do some dance lessons every now and then as drop-ins even after our event to just keep it going! Couldn't recommend them enough!

We enrolled our daughter in classes after reading so many wonderful reviews about this school. We…read morewere excited to meet the staff and see what our daughter would be doing, as we had in other schools that she had been in. After being delayed for 4 weeks due to construction, and then being told the week before the school had actually moved, we arrived to a new building with no little to no parking and no signs saying where the school was. When we finally found it, we were greeted with a mask mandate that wasn't communicated, and a room that was a quarter of the size of their old space. These things we could deal with. It was what followed that completely soured our opinion of the school. The man at the entrance simply told about the masking and then told us that we could leave and didn't have to stick around. While he was polite, we were confused. In other schools, we more than welcome to wait and watch our daughter enjoy her class. When we told him we wanted to wait, he got annoyed and immediately got the owner. When she approached us she explained that they don't allow the parents to wait and that we should use this as "free time" and that we could come back five minutes before class ended to watch. She then basically pushed us out of the building. This wasn't communicated before hand, so our daughter was upset by this. Once we assured her we were just outside, we left to find other parents waiting in the parking lot just as confused and irritated as us. One parent went back in to complain, and instead of being gracious and helping we later heard the headmistress aggressively complaining to her staff about the parent, fully in front of the children they were supposed to be teaching. When we went back to watch, the instructors were already cleaning up and the headmistress had to tell the instructor to go back and show us what they had taught our daughter. We were greeted with a 5 minute stretching session that showed us nothing that our daughter didn't already know before going into the class. Between this all this, the complete lack of communication on the staff's part and the fact that the classes are 30 minutes long, which is half the time other dance studios are offering at twice the price, this studio does not hold its value at all.

I decided to visit Fred Astaire's in Cold Spring as a last resort. Yuri and Kristen had a beginners class that moved at a good pace and wasn't an astronomical amount. Its has been a crazy year since I started and I'm happy with all that I've learned and instructors who made sure I'm not the guy to embarrassed to dance at any event.

The space is so beautiful and the people are so incredibly welcoming, students of all ages, bodies, and backgrounds come there and everyone is welcome! There is no judgement from anyone there, so even as a beginner I always felt safe. The space is always clean and the skylights in the studio space are so unique and beautiful! I've taken classes with a few teachers and they've all been great, but my personal favorite is Andrea so I will speak more so about her classes. I take Andrea's morning classes on Tuesdays and Fridays and I always have the BEST time! She is so knowledgeable and such a talented teacher, you can tell she really loves the practice of yoga. Andrea is thorough, patient, kind, and makes class both challenging and super fun! No matter if you're a beginner or more advanced, she is the teacher for you. She knows how to make adjustments and modifications for every pose based on your skill level, so everyone can thrive even if there's many different student levels in the same class. She's so uplifting and encouraging to everyone, it's definitely always the type of class that you always leave feeling great about. 10/10 I recommend grassroots. I have been impressed by each Master, the Dojo and the participants behavior during classes. The community and camaraderie that is instilled is impressive. It is such a wholesome and conducive environment. I recently learned that UMAC offers an after school program. This is extremely beneficial to myself as a new parent in the process of adopting. Our child needed after school programs and UMAC came through big. Not only is the after school program reasonably priced, the staff picks the children up at their schools. Upon being in the program, students are helped with homework, given social skill time as well as being allowed to participate in Martial Arts classes. UMAC is beyond helpful in the community as well as being such a positive entity for children's growth and learning outside of typical schooling. I highly recommend checking out the schools and the offerings.

Unfortunately, life took it's twists and turns and between age, injury, and a sedentary lifestyle, I gained some unwanted weight, and more disturbingly, felt completely weak and out of my body. As a former gymnast, I couldn't even do a cartwheel. Angela put me at ease right away with her gentle therapeutic approach. I found a safe place, free of judgment, where rebuilding my physical strength and love of self, was supported every step of the way, with a staff that took a wellness partnership approach, a clean welcoming studio that had all of he equipment I needed, and a community of other practitioners who cheered each other on. Clients here are treated like family and not only will the teacher go out of her way to create a plan tailored to your individual needs, but she consistently checks in and works around any physical limitations you may be experiencing, while conversely working with you to strengthen supportive muscles to those trouble areas. I am so grateful that I found Angela and APG Pilates. I have ventured out to try other exercise modalities (yoga, running, free weights, white cloud, and aerial work) and none of them have the comprehensive effect on my body that Pilates does. After working with Angela just 2-3 times a week, I experienced a huge transformation. I was fit and strong, looked better than I had in 20 years, and had confidence that my body would not hold me back from living the life I want. For the first time I have a sustainable exercise, that I still look forward to doing. The way, APG teaches Pilates, there are always new challenges and fun things to learn.

Let's talk about last night…read more We came here to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday with a party of 10. When we first arrived, we were greeted by the employee at the front counter, who was friendly and seemed to be in a good mood. We paid $107 for an hour of bowling and headed to our lanes. About five minutes later, management approached us and said that one of our teenagers had called an employee the N-word. We were told we had to leave immediately and that we would not receive a refund. We were completely shocked. We had no idea what they were talking about, so we tried to understand what had happened. During the discussion, we were told the police had been called. At that point, I gathered my family and waited near the entrance for the officers. We asked for some explanation, security footage, or any details about the alleged incident, but we were told the employee was too upset to come out and explain what had happened. I want to give credit to the officers from the Wappingers police department, they handled the situation professionally and took the time to listen to both sides. After speaking with us and then with the employee, it became clear that she had overheard one of the teenagers using the N-word while talking among themselves, not directing it at her. That is a very different situation from what we were originally accused of. The officer then asked management to contact the owner about refunding our money, and thankfully we did receive a full refund. We left and spent the rest of the evening somewhere else. My biggest issue isn't that someone was offended, it's how the situation was handled. Before getting the facts, management accused our family of directing a racial slur at an employee, called the police, and attempted to remove us without a refund. That was embarrassing and upsetting for everyone involved. I left feeling that the situation was handled far too quickly without a proper investigation or giving our family an opportunity to explain what had actually happened. I hope management reviews its procedures so future customers are treated more fairly before such serious accusations are made.
