If you've read my review about the Holistic Clinic, you'll know that I have plantar faciitis that…read moreis a real *female dog* to keep under control. I started doing Pilates because I hadn't tried it, thought it might help my core strength, and probably wouldn't hurt my feet. I didn't anticipate that it would help my feet. As a result of the core stability that I've gained, I have started running again and am over-the-moon. Everyone that I have interacted with at Pilates Space has been great, whether it's Laura and Charlie responding to my emails, doing private sessions with Charlie and Nataliya, or doing duet classes with Charlie and Jane. Charlie took a particular interest in my foot issues and made some recommendations on Melt Method techniques I could use to alleviate the tension, which I have used at home with great success. At first I didn't like that I needed to complete and Intro program to be able to participate in group classes, but after doing the program I realized it's value: I learned a lot, I met a number of instructors, and now that I know how classes progress, I won't be a nuisance with too many questions. I have always found the space to be clean and the lockers (in the women's change room, at least) have key locks available for free - note: not all the lockers have locks, so you might to have a back-up lock with you. I'm not a Pilates guru but I like being in places where I feel valued and appreciated and where other class members talk to each other, and I get this from Pilates Space.

I can't believe no one has reviewed this place yet. I love Reform!…read more This is a pilates-esque workout on a contraption called the Reformer. You pick how hard it is based on some adjustments you can make to the machine. The workouts are 25 minutes each (includes upper+core or lower+core), or you can opt for a "double" which is just 2 classes back-to-back. I'm glad the classes aren't longer because the workout is so challenging that anything more would level me. The instructors are all so nice, and super willing to help you get to know what you're doing. The class sizes are small (10? 12?), and you get lots of individual attention. You do have to buy some grippy socks. If you have yoga socks with the grips on the bottom, that'll probably suffice. I saw someone with those neon pink grip socks you get at the trampoline park. They're pretty chill about it. I think if you sign up for an introductory class, you get some free socks with it too. The facility is nice and new, and there is free parking available. There are also free lockers in the facility. I think there are some additional services, like body composition testing, but I don't know too much about that. Anyway, if you're into fun fitness classes that are motivating and make you feel like Britney in 2003, go on and give Reform a try.

Welcoming instructors and staff, along with effective and safe workouts makes reform a spot worth…read morechecking out. I had been lucky enough to have used a mega reformer in Toronto and when visiting my parents, was introduced to this awesome place. I can safely safe I'm hooked! The workouts kick my butt every time. The best part is that no matter what level you are, beginner to advanced, there are always modifications or ways to make the workout more challenging or scale it down. If you're looking for a workout that gets results, offers a motivating environment and supportive community, I highly recommend trying a class or two. You may end up hooked too! :)
