2.5 stars, rounding up to 3 My main reason was for coming to this establishment was to get key lime pie before I had left Florida. I was able to get the key lime pie here, but it was subpar to other ones that I have had before. And, did not look like the key lime pie I saw pictures online for reviews of this place.. Definitely not worth the $3 a slice! Sorry to say. I also had ordered the seafood sensation, and the fried catfish with fries and a baked potato on the side. The the fried catfish was good , along with the seafood sensation, although I did think it was a bit pricey for what we got. The fries were fine as far as fries  go, and the baked potato have more cheese on the aluminum oil than inside of the potato, and there were no chives  on it either. The best thing from this place were the hush puppies. And those are complementary. I got a weird vibe from this place as well, from the other customers as well as the teenagers working here, although they were professional enough. I would like to say it's because I was just picking up for take out and not dining in, but its most likely because I'm brown. If you're white though, this place would be nice enough to eat at. Guess that's how you know this the real Florida, and not the touristy spots.

Best food in pace, just absolutely fabulous

Great Customer Service !!! From the moment you walk in till you leave ! 5 STARS!! I was out in the local area and wanted to find a quick spot and decided to try this one. The food was delicious !! I had hush puppies ( best I've had in my life), gumbo .. on point !!! and the seafood loaded potato with smoked Gouda grits !! I was not disappointed at all ! It was all delicious ! Great customer service and nice ambience ... I am a true critic and coming from NY ... where you have it all .. this place has topped it plus you can't beat the price !! This has been added to my must go spots If you are around you must definitely try it out ! I promise you will not be disappointed!

We have been trying to get here for a few years but our travel never matched up with their hours…read more Today it finally did! The family that runs it were great. Be patient when you come because they make the food fresh and it is so worth it. I got the combo with the chicken tenders and hot filet mullet. I got the tenders because I'm not a fan of seafood, it wow the hot filet mullet was great. The ambiance has a very home feel and honestly reminded me of my grandparents house they had in the mountains. I hope to return again soon.

It's not a big place! Table of 6! Now it's been almost 48 minutes! Still no food! Don't come here again! The excuses are just plain lying! We had our excitement and dinner ruined! Don't not come here- no feeding alligators either! They don't care either- they don't see anyone but themselves and excuses. Btw it was the waitress fault. The woman in charge- kept saying we only make it when it's entered- it's the waitress. Ok if the waitress just would've said- after I entered your appetizer of crab claws- I forgot to put your order in! But to keep lying? So the fried shrimp was OLD and fishy taste! They were gross. The amount of money you pay is NOT worth the tiny scrapes of food you get! The children's meal was tiny balls of chicken! McDonald's had bigger pieces! Our bill came out to 165.00 We left a 9 dollar tip and got the heck out of there! Worst resturant ever experience in Florida! Mind you we waited all YEAR for them to open! My mother in law said it used to be better! People are in line for this? When we did get our food, we were told it's cause flounder takes longer to cook. Uh huh- cause you have to go out there catch it and then cook it right? Our waitress Trisha! Was the worst in communication of where our food was- after 5 times asking!

We were visiting some friends in Milton and wanted to get a bite for lunch before heading out…read more They suggested Blackwater Bistro. The place is really quaint with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The menu includes a great variety of different items. The soup of the day was a green chili chicken stew that sounded too good to pass on, so I ordered that along with a side of Gouda grits and a side of sautéed green beans. The grits were delicious! The green beans were very good; and the soup was good. My wife ordered the Philly Cheesesteak with sweet potato criss-cut fries. The fries were bomb! The sandwich was okay, she was trying to figure out what was missing. On the way home she realized it was missing cheese. A cheesesteak without cheese?!?! Service was very good. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. This bistro is not cheap by any stretch, but it is good and I'm sure we'll return.

Growing up in Pea Ridge, I've heard of the illustrious Blackwater Bistro my whole childhood. This…read morewas the fancy place in town to go to if you had a hot date, or for before you go to prom. I never made it out, though, until I moved away, got a job, and then came back to visit recently. I went out to explore downtown Milton some, checked out Blackwater State Park, and got hungry and decided to finally come check this place out for lunch. So we drove up, got a table, and started browsing the pamphlet they gave us of the history of the building. It was a quaint little read. The restaurant is in an old house that had many different lives over the course of its existence. It was wooden, comfortable, had a nice bar built into it. Very cozy and rustically upscale. The service was also very good. A nice lady that tended to all of our drink needs. Very pleasant. And the food came out in a timely fashion. As for the food, we started with the The Sampler (A mixture of our house favorites: Artichoke cheesecake, Baguette, Loaded Brussel Sprouts with Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp with Mango Chutney). This was nice. I love a good savory cheesecake, you don't see that very often. It was very interesting loading the sprouts with shrimp, but I've never said no to a shrimp. And the coconut shrimp were pretty standard. It was a good plate, but not mind-blowing, if you wanna try a different app. My main was the Creole Crawfish & Andouille Pot Pie (Louisiana Crawfish, Savory Vegetables, Andouille, Cajun Cheese Cream, Puff Pastry). This is a loose-leaf pot pie. So basically a gumbo with a puffy piece of puff pastry on top. So it's a lot of fun, but don't expect a lot of crust with each bite. Super creamy, super Cajun in the seasoning, no regrets getting this. I also got to try the The Blue Salad (Filet of Beef. Signature Assorted Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Cucumber, Bleu Cheese, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Candied Pecans, Bleu Cheese Dressing). This was a good salad! Nice and tender strips of filet, funky bleu cheese, sweet and crunchy pecans. I love a nice interesting salad like this. Nothing boring involved. And a ton of that delicious dressing. Overall, the Bistro was well worth the wait. Good vibes, good food. I'd come back.
