This place is great. Their shop is always clean. Their website is easy to navigate and set up your appointment. Their pricing is fair and quality of haircuts is next level. Cesar is my barber and he's been great. Real cool dude and is a very talented barber. My haircut always comes out exactly how I want it. So glad i found this place. read more

My husband has been coming here for a few months after his barber retired and he's very happy with Jose A. and also appreciates the vibe of all the barbers there. Very cool ambience. I love how his hair looks every time read more

Walked in twice and was able to get nice haircuts both times from these talented young barbers. Easy going chill vibe as well.

No one ever answers the phone :( it says appointments only. I've tried calling during Yelp hours but no luck

They couldn't book anything for weeks and then they canceled the appoint 10 minutes before the scheduled time with zero proposed solution. They didn't offer to with me in or anything. I'm not used to how unprofessional people can be so this was quite surprising. The sad part is they truly could not have cared less. read more

*** CASH ONLY *** Normally I would go to this mom-and-pop Asian salon for an inexpensive haircut, but this time I decided to give this barbershop a try because most places are closed on the Labor Day. The Cutlery accepts walk-in and a haircut is $20 plus tip (or $30 with appointment). I got here at 5:45 PM and I didn't have to wait at all. My barber was very friendly and asked what style do I want. The setting was very relaxing (with a TV to keep you busy) and we had a good small talk about sports. My barber wasn't rushing (I will admit that it could be an issue when you are in a hurry and there are few other customers waiting ahead of you) and meticulously trimmed edges using warm shaving cream and razor at the end. After my haircut, not only did I feel like a new man - I actually smelled good after I walked out of the shop! I like the cut I got and it was well worth $20. P.S. - Street parking only, but it shouldn't be that difficult to find one in this area. read more

Recently moved into the area. Hard to find a good barber for my 5 yr old. First time I took my boy, it was packed but they had like 6 chairs working. We're usually down to wait and save the extra $10 for appointments. First time, we got lucky I guess cuz Henry whipped my son's hair up something proper! With younger kids, its hard to find barbers that can do smooth blended low fades on their small heads. Then half the time, when you find someone who's fades are slick, they might not know what to do with the top for like a "gentlemen's cut". They end up clipping everything on the sides w a comb and end up with the Navy/Cop look lol. Second time wasn't quite as good. Henry couldn't take my son and the rest of the guys were booked til closing w appointments. So I knew I couldn't really complain, being that (1.) Another homie reluctantly said he'd stay and hook it up for my little dude and (2.) My son had school pics the following morning so even a rush job was better than nothing. It wasn't a hack job, just kinda rushed and went up higher in the back than I asked. So he ended up with that military look rather than the more current "gentlemen's cut" steeze. Definitely gonna go back, just hope we can have Henry hook it up on a slower day/time. read more

Love these guys! If you're looking for a old style barber shop, these are the guys you should come to. When i first step in, i was immediately greeted by a shock of nostalgia; that barber shop that everyone hangs out with, bunch of people talking about day to day events, watching sports, cheering for their favorite team and best of all talking about complete random topic that anyone can relate to. Best of all, these guys know how to do a proper fade. I can't tell if i'm going to these guys because i love the service and environment or the awesome hair cut that i walk out with. Either way, i'm coming back to these guys. read more

**MUST READ** walked out If you do not schedule ur appointment do not plan to get seated. Came in as a walk in and waited well over an hour. two out of the 3 barbers went on a break while I sat there, a simple "we will be right back" or "we will come get you in a bit" would have been fine. These guys literally do not acknowledge u if u r waiting. Also if u guys didn't know they schedule a booking in advance fee so their business logic makes no sense. *Note* I have been here before as a walk in and had a fairly good experience before but today was clearly different. read more

Came here today since my usual barber was packed without any appointments. Luckily to my surprise, I'm a total fan! This place is located in Rosemead-- across the street from the (old) Fresh & Easy, like literally next to the gas station. Parking can be done on the streets-- or "illegally" in the Rite Aid lot. However, don't park near that asian clothing store-- I saw a sign on a car today that said "Next Time Park here, Tow away!" (Lol) Literally. Anyways, upon arrival-- this place was pretty hip, simple, and dope. It gave me this hip hop vibe from the infamous show on VH1 - Black Ink Crew. All the barbers seemed pretty chill with their attire, piercings, and hashtag swag. I ended up with the guy with two piercings near the lip -- didn't really get his name (and there was no wait). I told him what I wanted -- and like a good barber, he did exactly what I asked for! Although there were a few twirls on the barbershop chair during my haircut, it was worth it. I never got the idea of tapers/fades (which I still have no idea about)-- but they definitely do a good job on hair cuts (especially on the sides). Although the top of my head wasn't the best-- the sides were definitely the best that I have ever encountered (not sure if that made any sense at all). For the price (~$20), it was worth it. The barbers seem to definitely pay attention to deal and even add in some cool yet warm shaving cream to your haircut. I don't know what was it exactly-- but it definitely felt good. Overall, I really enjoyed my time here. I would definitely come back since it is so close to my house. I must admit, I was pretty intimidated when I first came here-- but I'm glad I did because my barber was pretty nice and they have decent music playing too. Turn Ons: - Convenience - Great detail with tapers/fades - ATM machine inside the store Turn Offs: - Parking -- can be limited in the front read more

First time going to this barbershop I got my haircut by Pete not sure if he is new. I clearly told him to re-shave hard part and it's visible because of my last haircut the next morning when I woke up to comb my hair i noticed he did another hard part underneath the original one. He knew what he did when he combed my hair he made sure to cover up his mistake as I noticed he was just focusing in that area of my head for a bit but I thought he was just concentrating. The place smelled like pot typical "swag" barbershops. 35 bucks down the drain BEWARE read more

Ive been cutting my hair by Pete now for over 2 years now! Very genuine guy who pays attention to detail to what you looking for in a haircut! Always comes through, especially Nick my personal barber for over 5 years. You don't stick with someone for that long for no reason. As soon as you walk in this barbershop you can trust anyone to take good care of you. Wether it's Nick, Henry, Tommy or Junior. They all have the skills and patience to please their clientele. It's a barbershop that makes you feel at home. If your trying to get a quick cut then I definitely recommend booking an appointment but if you got time on your hands then swing by for a clean fresh cut and even top it off with a nice hot shave. This is where gentlemen come get a good clean cut before the weekend and where everyone would ask you right after, "Who's your barber?!" please make yourself a favor and get a proper cut. read more

ASK FOR PETER Came here couple weeks ago walking in, first time I was in for a last minute haircut because I was heading to a trip to Vegas. One of the barbers told me that it's appointments only and I was bumbed out. Until Peter came up to me and told me he can squeeze me if I come back an hour. Came back, and let me tell Peter is the best barber. I haven't had this special barber experience before, the fade is really clean, detailed, and nicely tight. I would definitely come back again soon, usually a lot of barbers doesn't know my hair style or how to work in my hair but After explaining Peter hair my hairstyle is and he got it on point. Nicely trimmed on top the way I wanted and a nice tight fade! Peter is also a good communicator, tries to get to know me too which is a plus ! And he busted out a massager machine for my upper back for a minute , I never seen this kind of treatment before! Peter saved my life by getting me to look good before I head to Vegas! I was confident feeling like a billion bucks all thanks to Peter! read more

I was a regular for awhile. I would always get a cut with a barber there but after the last time i will take my business elsewhere. When i would show up the barber would be eating or on his phone while i waited. During my cuts he would be on his phone looking at random videos and stop completely. I was annoyed but the cuts were usually okay. The last time i made an appointment maybe an hour before he canceled my appointment. No reason for it, he just never answered. read more

Called a bit before their posted time, the guy on the end of the other phone said come on by, so I did. I've been looking for barber shop closer to home and decided to do the unthinkable and step out on a limb and go to a new place..without a referral. My first impression was good. The shop is small, only 4 chairs, barber chairs, but anyway it is nicely done up. Each giant mirror behind each chair dawns that barbers Instagram, so you can take a second to see what's really good if you want. The staff was welcoming and seemed legit. David cut my hair and I have to say it was beyond my expectation, I'm picky (who isn't) and my hair is kind of hard to cut. The price was fair, $ 25 for my head and beard. I'll probably be back. read more

I haven't been to a barber in many years since I decided to go bald. But once I decided to grow my hair out I need to find a good place that would do a good job. I found this place not too far from my work, They stay open fairly late. I get there and all the chairs are occupied and these guys are taking their time making sure that every here, every follicle is cared for. So I get Tommy, who knew exactly how to cut my hair and beard after Showing him a picture of what I want. He took his time, I don't know how many different blades he switched after each run. But he was professional, methodical, obsessive about making sure everything was cut properly. I enjoyed my time being there, I think Tommy did a fantastic job and really gave me what I wanted. I'm definitely going to be coming back to this place, there should be my normal go to barbershop from now on. read more

I came here for the first time trying to get a basic comb over. The place is small and people are friendly. The barbers really put a lot of detail into their work. But if you do come, remember too set up an appointment first. I sat here for an hour with one of the barbers reminding me that I will be next. I wasn't. He picked up another customer right after he finished with the one he was working with for the past hour. I walked out after that. Tl;dr. Dont even bother to come this barbershop. Just moved to the area and searching for good barbershop (As my regular barbershop is like an hour away). After checking on yelp, I went to this barbershop because of the good reviews they have on yelp. Got there and there was only 1 person waiting, I was the second. And they 5 barbers that were taking care of the gentlemen'. No greeting or whatsoever. Not even a single barber ask If I was looking for any particular barber. There were few people that came afterwards, but they were served first, Assuming they had an appointments, but hey at least you telling those people had appointments. Other barbers just taking their time talking, couple that had done with their customers, just went out or backside and didnt even say a word or at least telling us. Waited 45mins with nothing and I just left. Wont ever come back or even visit this place again. Wasted my time. Definitely 0 Star If I could. read more

I came in as I had found this spot was highly rated on yelp. There was a decent amount of people waiting in line so I figured that these barbers were skilled. They were taking quite some time with each customer which showed that they really wanted the best look for their customers. The line starts dwindling then some guy sits next to me to wait for his haircut as well. He chats it up with some of the barbers and I start getting this hunch that while I've been wait for 40 minutes this guy is going to be picked before me. And I was right. Thats the thing about this barbershops they don't communicate with you. Did he have an appointment? Could they reassure me and let me know how long my wait is? Very unprofessional and although they are probably talented barbers they definitely lost a customer. I'm just checking the comments and seeing that there are many people who've had the same issues. The rating of this place only seems to be high due to fake generic reviews by people who have probably never been to this barbershop. If you want to save your time go somewhere else. read more

I come to cutlery whenever I need a good cut. This time is was for my wedding because I know they'll get me looking sharp. If I trust them to cut my hair for my wedding you gotta know they are good. I've gotten cut here a couple times before and I usually just walk in. The wait can be looking at times without an appointment but if you are getting cut for a special occasion or can afford the appointment then I would just make an appointment. My hair is almost bald so in usually just buzz it at home if it's nothing special. I booked an appointment with Henry to get my sides tapered and lined up. I looked sharp as hell at my wedding and the photos came out looking good. I was getting many compliments that day. Come to the cutlery if your looking for a good cut. read more

I've came since it opened years ago on and off. For some reason I always get the new up and coming barber . I've never had a satisfying haircut at this establishment . I've tried cutting it with different ppl throughout the years prob been here about 4 times. Every time it's not up to my standards of a low fade . I hate being that guy to complain and put the barber on the spot . I understand ppl are trying and learning but the main barbers should get new clients as well to show them there are good barbers in the shop just not beginners for new customers . I made an appointment yesterday we came to an agreement of 9:30 am. I showed up today and the barber wasn't there nor was I on schedule . Very unprofessional . There's barely any air circulation for anyone worried about getting COVID there . I wouldn't recommend for anyone new looking for a haircut. It's more of a friends of friends establishment . The only reason I made this post is because making me believe I had an appointment and wasting my time was a laugh at my face . Don't want anyone going through the same ordeal . read more

I wanted to like this place but it was really disappointing. The shop itself looks cool. They really put in some effort to give it a certain look but the service really killed it for me. Went to get my sons haircut around 6pm because our regular barber wasn't available and my son needed a haircut so we just walked in. The door has no bell or chime so no one acknowledged us for a little bit. two guys were sitting down in the barber chairs. They were on their cellphones and then one of them says "give me a minute" so we wait while he continues to use his cellphone for a few minutes. It was sort of awkward and unprofessional. The haircut my son got was bad. So bad that I'm going to have to go to our regular barber today to fix it. It looks like people here have some really great reviews for this place so I was hoping that we would have one too but here we are. read more

I came in on a Friday afternoon around like 12:45PM expecting that I was going to have to wait. I arrived with a fully charged phone so I was okay with it. As soon as I walked in everyone greeted you and acknowledged you were there. However after waiting an hour and seeing that I was most likely going to be up next. Every SINGLE Barber except for one decided to go on lunch. Had it been COMMUNICATED to me that they'd were going to go on lunch that would've been okay with me. Had a younger gentleman cut my hair. Might have been new or something though... Seemed like everyone here was taking forever to cut. Haircut Wasn't really how I wanted it..: figured if it took that long, he musta been doin real good work. Came back the next day to fix a few things but it was closed. Hours say they open at 11, so I came at 12 but someone inside said they were out to lunch and the sign said be back at 3. How do you open at 11, and take a lunch break an hour later....
