I absolutely love this place. Normally, a place that has a massive menu is a bit concerning to me…read moreas it often leads to not really excelling at anything, but that is not the case here in my experience. The reason behind the large menu is related to the aim of the restaurant, which is to showcase the various regional cuisines of India. As a result, don't expect the straightforward menu of: apps, entrees, deserts, etc... rather the menu is divided by cuisine. Aside from honouring tradition, they do offer a couple 'new' takes on some items. If you comb through a few reviews, and certainly the pics, you'll notice a must-order items is the roasted eggplant with pomegranate. It really is like nothing else I've had before and unforgettable in both taste and texture. My group also went with a famous lamb dish as well. I don't remember the name offhand, but it is incredibly soft, well seasoned and nicely spiced dish. We also went with orders of naan, veggie dishes and meat skewers. It's beautifully decorated inside and also has the advantage of being located in a heritage building in what was formerly an estate home nearly 150 years old. It's truly a unique place and one people living in the area can be proud and of showcase to visitors.

The portion cann be share, however; I recommend toffee pudding with ice cream. Due to the weekend , the service was slow. I would like to thank Sheily who was so friendly and acted professionally when we did not like the cardamom chai as it has milk and did meet our expectations . She changed the chai with Earl Gray which was really tasty. The ambiance was nice and comfort. The chairs were comfortable and the employees were friendly.
The place was not busy (surprisingly) when I walked in around lunch time. The spread on the counter…read moreof curries and fried items seemed very limited and in tiny containers. Ordered a Masala Dosa and Veg Kottu Roti. My go to dishes in a Sri Lankan restaurant. The fact that no other customers came in was worrisome to me that did I make a good choice by coming here. The Masala Dosa comes in a container sliced in two rather than the entire wrapped in foil at one of nearby place (our favourite). The Dosa (crepe) much thicker than it should be make it too doughy and filling not flavoured enough. The accompanying sambhar was nothing great as well. The chutney too thin and watery but was surprisingly much better. It hit the right notes on flavour, spiciness and salt. The Kottu Roti was cooked with minimal veggies and much spicier than I anticipated. I was fine, but the Mrs not so much. And this was asking it to be mild. Need to try the HOT when I am all alone. The redeeming factor was that it contained Nutrella pieces (Indian continent soy pieces). The quantity was disappointing as well. $8.50 for a Masala Dosa (similar price to a sit down restaurant and much better quality or several $s expensive than the one sold at a nearby Sri Lankan place) and $7 for Kottu Roti - same as Masala Dosa. Now I know why there were not many people during lunch!

Considering the restaurant opened recently, my chair was rickety and the table was not too stable - a case of cheaping out a bit on furniture. Lighting levels ( especially at the central tables where there are no overhead lights) was very low and to read the menu was quite a task. There is a fine line between sophisticated low lighting and just low lighting.

Lamb roganjosh 3. Chicken tika bruschetta 4. Rasmalai sundae 5. Garlic naan. All is delish! Creamy non-picy cashew sauce is nice contrast with strong & spicy roganjosh for the 'variety'. Meat in all dishes are generous and tender. Cashew sauce is literally wiped clean. Bruschetta could be more refreshing though (the mayo sauce could be toned down). The sundae is great end of our meal.

Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We enjoyed every bite. If you're not used to spicy food, choose "mild" for heat level as it still has a bit of a kick to it. The staff are friendly and helpful. There's a parking lot beside the restaurant with first 2 hours of parking being free of charge.

When I had approached…read morethe front door, I noticed that there were a few restaurants all grouped together, which made it a tad confusing as to where to go. However, I then approached the lady at the front desk, and told her that I was interested in this particular restaurant. I was then brought over to a table, and noticed how chic and modern everything looked. I enjoyed the designs of the tables, chairs, and décor, and admired them as I was waiting for my food. I settled on the stuffed butter chicken naan, which took almost 30 minutes to prepare. I found this much too long to prepare, and was getting restless, as I had to go elsewhere. Nevertheless, the food itself was quite good however, a bit too spicy for my liking. Overall, this place does have many different varieties of stuffed naans, and does a good job of showcasing the various types. I would have liked for my meal to come sooner however, I'll keep that in mind for the future.

None of them have been disappointing. None of the items are clearly marked vegan but the server went into the kitchen multiple times to check - prefer to have clearly marked vegan options in a Vegetarian restaurant. The Vegan Gobi Manchurian was OK. Not greasy. Crispy cauliflower florets in a crispy red batter. But the it was a bit dry for us and the batter was very less spicy and under seasoned as well. The Vegan Bajji Platter was also less than OK. All too greasy except for Medu Vada. The plantain bajji, the chilli bajji (not spicy at all). The onion and potatoe bajjis were OK. The Ghee Pongal - Family enjoyed it. Thankfully the vegan Rava Masala Dosa was good. Good amount of Masala inside. The dosa crispy. The Mini Tiffin was saviour as well. Mostly vegan except for Rava Kesari. The Upma and Masala Dosas were great and Mini Idlis good. In all the sambhar and chutneys provided were not the usual. We found the sambhar a bit watered down and less spicy and seasoned. Even the chutneys were too runny and less seasoned and spicy. After our meal the server came multiple times to see if we were done so that they can accommodate the next customer. Felt rushed.

This mid-sized Indian restaurant opened Mar 2024. They have some typical Indian food, but what sets…read morethem apart are their milkshakes. They have so many that they prominently feature them on their front window and have a separate menu for them. They are still in soft opening mode, so we will come back later to try the food. Now for a sugar high ... Of course, we had to try these milkshakes since I love milkshakes. They have legacy flavoured milkshakes (typically $5.99), fancy western flavours (typically $8.99), and special fusion flavours (typically $9.99). They even have coffee-based milkshakes ($4.99). We had to try the classic and fusion milkshakes to compare and contrast. We ordered the following: 1. JAM JAM Gulab Jamun Fusion Milkshake ($9.99). 2. Rasmalai Atrangi Fusion Milkshake ($9.99). 3. Ghazal Of Gajar Fusion Milkshake ($9.99). 4. Strawberry Blast Legacy Milkshake ($5.99). The customer service is courteous, but they took a very long time to prepare each of the Fusion Milkshakes. I couldn't get a straight explanation why, except that they are still in soft opening. Each of the fusion milkshakes could be considered an Indian dessert but in milkshake form, with a sample of the dessert on top. The first milkshake had an actual Gulab Jamun on top; my friend liked this one the best. The second milkshake had an actual Rasmalai on top; I liked this one the best. The Strawberry Blast had a fresh strawberry on top. It was made with strawberry syrup mixed with ice cream. They made the syrup form patterns against the glass to make it look more picture-worthy. Compared to the fusion milkshakes, this is so plain. Yes , it is almost half the price, but it is a reasonable price for syrup and ice cream. We will have to come back to try the food, and maybe more milkshakes! The interior is adequate table and booth seating. The decorations are simple. There is one big-screen TV but there wasn't turned on. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2024-100
