Too bad they have terrible customer service and sell expired food. It feels as though the woman…read moreworking there doesn't like her job. This same woman has been rude/ unfriendly to me on multiple occasions. I usually never leave the store without spending at least $100. When I told her the crackers I bought yesterday for a dinner party were expired she just looked at me with a fake smile and said she had them recently and that is how they are supposed to taste. I spent three months in Italy and never have I tasted something so stale. I was explaining to her how awful they were and no I would not like another bag. She just kept saying I'm sorry and smiling. No refund, and unwilling to say the customer is right. Will not be returning there.

Another cool experience in Philadelphia. I am loving this city!…read more My husband and I received a gift certificate to Cook as a wedding gift and we didn't realize how quickly the events book up. Holy snikees! You have to literally log on to their website the minute the classes are posted and reserve a spot immediately. We got married in May and have been trying to use our gift certificate ever since. It was worth the wait! Our event was hosted by The Royal Chef (Darren McGrady). He cooked for 5 US Presidents in addition to the Queen of England and her family. Needless to say, he didn't disappoint. Not only was the food he created fantastic, but he was personable and super funny. There were 16 people total (which is the max for the space) and we enjoyed observing Darren and learning new techniques. The wrap-around counter ensures that eveyone has a bird's eye view. We loved every minute of it. Our menu included: - Blueberry, Feta and Kale Salad - Chili and Garlic Crusted Shrimp with Double Cheese Grits - Minute Steaks with Blue Cheese, Caramelized Onions, and Cannellini Bruschetta - Sticky Toffee Pudding with Clotted Cream The staff at Cook is top-notch. Never an empty wine nor water glass, and plates were delivered and cleared with the quickness. It was a casual, social, and fun setting. This is not a hands-on culinary event, rather, this is an event where you sit back, relax, and watch your chef work their magic. You don't have to lift a finger and that's the way I like it! You can purchase kitchen gadgets and goodies at this location at a 15% discount on the day of your event. Cook offers something for everyone. Some of the events are pricey, but there are some that are more budget-friendly. Check it out and be sure to work those quick-typing fingers to reserve a fun class fast!

There are different food offerings such as Italian, tapas, Mediterranean and the like. There Baldo something called cooking with the chef. With cooking with the chef it is restricted to a specific number of couples. In cooking with the chef you actually participate in making your meal. There is typically three courses. One time we made crab stacks which were delicious The chef prepared all of the ingredients. Each ingredient is passed along to build the appetizer. In addition, you might get selected to help the chef directly. That night we had a stuffed chicken breast with root vegetables. The dinner was finished with chocolate crepes with a creme anglais sauce. You bring your own wine to drink. The cost is $65.00 per person. We ve been back numerous times and have never had a bad meal. It's a great place to go with several other couples. Be forewarned, the doors fill up fast so you often have to book months in advance.

This time we went for a Cooking Class and it was memorable again. Joan and Chef Jean Pierre are the best, what a great team. We brought a nice bottle of wine to drink, class was a mixture of instruction followed by hands-on cooking/preparing. We prepared three courses: 1. Smoked Duck and Chicken Tower Salad (wow!) 2. Crab Cakes with Mussel Sauce (who knew to put cream in with mussels to make a mussel cream sauce for crab cakes?) 3. Hot Chocolate Souffle (gluten free! my wife loved it and it was only eggs, chocolate, and sugar) We could make all three at home (I'm pretty sure) Small class (only ten people), great Chef, great atmosphere (TVs showing close-ups of Chef on wall), plus hands-on! We booked out next class for April before we left, can;t wait for "A Taste of Italy"

Beryl conducted a private cooking class I was able to attend last-minute with a couple friends, and she guided us through a delectable meal from start to finish. Not only was everything very delicious, healthy, and quick to prepare, it was also inventive and fresh. I really liked that Beryl was not afraid to try new recipes and keep learning alongside us, even while dispensing her wonderful knowledge of nutrition and food. She is friendly and professional, and her passion for and dedication to her business really shines through in every detail. She sent us home with detailed recipe books of what we cooked that evening, complete with nutritional information, which was a really nice touch. Even having studied & experimented with holistic health and nutrition extensively myself, I still got a lot of benefits from the experience. Highly recommended. Thanks Beryl!
