I'm busy trying some olives! When I visited my stepdaughter, she told me about the place, so we went together. The place lets you try every type of oil and dressing they carry. So, what am I waiting for? I tried a few and I'm glad I tried because that's how I decided to buy. Unfortunately, my stepdaughter wanted to pay for my selections. She insisted, so I got the salad dressing that I liked, truffle balsamic vinaigrette. We were assisted by Elena. She did a terrific job explaining the products. I loved the store. It's quite a big store with different sections of products made of olive. There's the cooking oil section, salad dressing section and many others. It's a well organized store, spacious and easy to sample the products! Nice!

What a place!…read more Stopped in here while spending the day in Port Jefferson and am so glad I did. Amazing Olive features homemade blends of infused olive oils and vinegars that complement whatever dish you're making. Looking for a way to spice up your salads? Elevate fresh fruits? Marinate meat? There's an olive oil or vinegar (or both) for that. Service here is friendly, helpful and approachable as well. The man who helped us (who I think may have been the owner? He gave off those types of vibes) let us sample what felt like every option available until we settled on a white peach vinegar we loved. Just as we were prepared to check out with just one vinegar, he asked if we liked Greek food (which I do) and let us sample a more savory infused "Olympic" herb vinegar that was incredible, I had to have it too. It's come in so handy for the abundance of cucumbers and tomatoes I have from both mine and my mother's summer gardens. I don't live in the area but they also ship which I may have to do once I run out of these vinegars, I'm hooked!

Then this super rude lady with glasses comes out and starts with "we're closing". Then says "especially if you you're not going to buy anything"? Excuse? I never said I wasn't going to buy anything, but you bet I'm never buying from them now. TERRIBLE ATTITUDE. DO NOT SHOP THERE. IF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT BAD HOW CAN YOU TRUST THEM WITH WHAT YOU CONSUME? RUN.

Bob had owned the Colony Lounge in Huntington Station, New York for 30 years. He and his wife Mona (a former medical transcriber) then retired to North Carolina. On a trip to Northern California, the two discovered a shop that sold infused olive oils and vinegars. They decided to bring the concept to North Carolina and opened their first location there in 2010. A year later, they opened a flagship store in Huntington, New York and more locations would open throughout Long Island in the following years. In 2013, the Rosseros sold off their original Hickory location in order to concentrate on their Long Island locations. Each location offers more than two dozen varieties of flavor-infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Today the small chain has five locations in Huntington, Babylon, Sayville, Stony Brook, and Commack. My wife and I visited the Crushed Olive's Port Jefferson location (now closed) in October 2018. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary on Long Island with a private limousine tour of the North Fork Wine Trail. We discovered the Crushed Olive while exploring all of the quaint shops in Port Jefferson. All of the various oils and vinegars are stored in gleaming stainless steel containers with taps called "fustis". Customers are encouraged to sample the oils and vinegars with cubes of fresh Italian bread from a local baker. Some of our favorite olive oils we sampled included the Blood Orange, Eureka Lemon, Olive Wood Smoked, and Tuscan Herb. Some of the balsamic vinegars we enjoyed included the Black Cherry, Dark Chocolate, Fig, and Pomegranate. We purchased some small bottles to take home. We have since ordered other bottles online and had them shipped to our house, including their 18 Year Traditional Balsamic Vinegar that is aged in oak barrels in Modena, Italy for 18 years. We will continue to order more delicious oils and vinegars from the Crushed Olive for years to come!

And, you can sample every single one - little cubes of bread to dip in, or if you're hard core you can sip it right from the tiny plastic sample cups. Here are my favorites: Tuscan Herb Olive Oil Great for Italian cooking - heat it up in a pan, add your pasta and sauce, voilà! Nice flavor, love the scent of this and great for dipping in bread. Pumpkin Spice Balsamic Yes, how very cliché of me, a girl from Long Island that likes pumpkin flavored things. I love this on top of butternut squash ravioli. Much healthier than butter or a heavy cream sauce and the combo of butternut and pumpkin is a win. Honey Ginger Balsamic Great for salads and drizzling on top of chicken! Chipotle Olive Oil LOVE this for a nice spiced up chicken. I heat this up in the pan, add in my chicken cutlets, salt, pepper, red pepper, drizzle some of the C.O.O. on top, cook, flip, repeat, cook other side, eat. Nice spice and excellent flavor when you cook with it in the pan and then add the drizzle. They have a loyalty card that gets you a free bottle when you purchase 10, but it must be the larger sized bottles (green ones, not clear glass). It can get a bit pricey so I will usually buy 1-2 at a time. The service here has always been super nice and friendly. Definitely recommend, you will likely not leave empty handed!
