I brought my puppy to burn some energy off before the rain came. There was no one else there, which was kind of nice and we had the whole area to ourselves. It's located behind the Renaissance Commons apartments and has two sections for small and large dogs. They had a little playground for the dogs in each section to use. There were plenty of poop bags and trash containers if needed and there was even some tennis balls to play fetch with. There is a covered pavilion with benches and they had water bowls set up with hoses in case they needed to be filled. This is the closest dog park that I have found to be by me since I have been to Pooch Pines and Lake Ida. I'm not sure if there are any others in the area, but it was a nice find since I didn't mind the short drive. I shall bring Rocky back and maybe there will be more dogs next time.

Park is very clean. I like how there are different sections for different sizes. The dogs here are all very friendly. The park is maintained very well. There were a few droppings from pups that owners did not pick up after.

This is a really nice and clean dog park. We usually go to another but this one is much closer to home. Pros: -Parking is convenient. -They have an second gate before entering. Great to prevent runaways and to leash up before exiting, etc. -I like the plentiful seating and that this dog park has a little "playground" for dogs to go up and down. I found myself on it as well haha! -I like that there is a pavilion too, perfect for some shade or if it rains. -It's super nice to see that there is a hose-down area as well. -A container of used tennis balls to play with! -Lots of trash-containers & poop bags available. It was great because I forgot my poop bag container at home. Super convenient! Cons: -A bit smaller and can get pretty crowded later on in the day. It's a busy dog park! -It can be a bit hectic as I saw that there were dogs bigger/heavier than 35lbs in the under 35lbs area rather than using the big dog play area (which is right next door). Especially when you have a 13-15lb dog to have to keep watch over haha! Side note: **I saw that there are 2-under 35lbs play areas but one was under maintenance when we went today. Overall, this is a really nice dog park. I recommend it! I see myself taking Poppy here again some other time!

Small, muddy (limited grass) dog park. Because of size and shape (long rectangle) it felt more like a dog run than a park to me. Easy to find, easy to park, and split into sections based on size of your dog. They also have a hose inside, for water bowls (or in my case, to play in). I went during the week and no one was there (like a ghost town).

This is a brand new dog park and it is nice and pretty big. There are a few trees for shade and over time the trees will get bigger and provide more shade for both human and dog visiting the park. There is plenty of parking in the lot in front of the park. There are 2 separate gated areas for different sized dogs. The park is not open all day on weekdays but I think there are longer hours during the weekend when more dogs may have the time to play.

Informational plaques are posted throughout, making it easy to learn about the native trees and bird species you encounter along the walk. The boardwalk is also stroller and wheelchair friendly, so it truly is a place for everyone! Come prepared: hat, sunscreen, and binoculars are a must, and don't forget your walking shoes. If you live nearby and love the outdoors, this is also the perfect spot to get your steps in while soaking up nature and staying active -- a workout that doesn't feel like one! My husband and I originally planned a quick visit and ended up staying for nearly three hours -- this place has a way of pulling you in. We chose to walk the boardwalk first and save the nature center for last, but if you're visiting from out of area or just want more context before you explore, I'd recommend flipping that order. The nature center is packed with information about the wetlands ecosystem, the wildlife that calls it home, and the fascinating history of the site itself -- none of which I knew before visiting. Grab a map before you head out! On our walk, we spotted an alligator gliding through the pond, turtles, and an impressive variety of bird species. The sounds were incredibly peaceful, and the stretches of shaded tree hammocks offered the perfect reprieve from the sun. We came across Gumbo Limbo trees, sabal palms, and strangler figs among other beautiful native species. It was truly a magical experience, and I cannot wait to come back!

In 2008 and 2009 the park received 1.5 million dollars of improvements, paid for in part by a grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Education. The land for the park was purchased from the Florida Inland Navigation District. This park has been named the Jaycee Park for about a half century even thought the last local Jaycees chapter closed in 1999. The front section of the park has the improvements made in 2008 which include two children's play areas, one for younger children and one for older, with slides, swings, and climbing structures, shaded by a large ficus tree. There are also two bocce ball courts, sheltered picnic tables, restroom and a walking path. Along the paved path is the Boynton Beach Maritime Heritage Trail which tells you about the history of Boynton Beach, the early settlers, sport fishing, the Boynton Beach inlet, and more. There also signs throughout the park about nurturing nature. The eastern edge of the park has a mangrove nature preserve. Mangroves are important to the environment because hey clean the water and they provide a protective nursery for sea life to spawn. In 2009 a 300 foot boardwalk was added to the park overlooking the Intracoastal for fishing and nature observation. Manatees have been spotted here. It also provides a front row seat for the annual holiday boat parade. To the north of the boardwalk is a small ramp where you can launch a canoe, kayak, or paddle board. I loved reading all of the signs in the park relating to history and nature. There were also several beautiful public art pieces to view as well. This park is a wonderful spot to take the kids to play, picnic, fish, and enjoy the beauty of nature. It is easy to see why this park is such a beloved destination in Boynton Beach.

I enjoy going to this dog beach- but quite a few negatives. 1. Not TOO big of an area for the dogs…read moreto play on (between 2 lifeguard stands) 2. Very restricted hours and days (Fri, Sat, Sun) of when you can be on the beach (and they WILL enforce those days/hours) 3. Other than that, the water and sand are always clean, it's easy to find, parking is always available at close-by meters, and the dogs are usually friendly and obedient.

I think that the ocean should be free but to each their own opinions. Better option is to find parallel parking IF you can. Anyways, pay $20 to park in the dedicated parking lot, pay your $11/dog for your dog passes, & then walk through the long tunnel into the beach, you can only go left once entered the beach with your dogs, must show your tickets/"dog pass" to whatever security guard that is at the beach entrance, should be a very quick ordeal and go about your business. Extremely packed beach, packed with a TON of dogs, very oddly enough, not everyone in the dog beach is "dog friendly" so keep an eye on your dog. Best deal is to come towards closing (for the sunset & the heat decrease) especially if you weren't planning on spending the entire day.
