I immediately felt the "home town" vibe of this special restaurant & coffee shop. The staff was so friendly & welcoming that I immediately felt right at home. Had a "BLT" & asked them to add a fried egg & they happily obliged. it was simply excellent & brought back vivid memories of my youth from a bygone era when food was prepared with love , caring & pride in serving the very best to the community they served. A little about the proprietors: before "Sam" Samantha & Kurt started this wonderful eatery & coffee house, it was a Mexican restaurant called Fred's that had proudly served the Fort Sumner community for 47 years. So the history of friendly service & outstanding fare literally is permeated within. Now for the sad part. I discovered that this was their last day open! After 4 years, surviving thru the Covid restrictions, Sam & Kurt are have to close due to illness. It saddens the heart that Fort Sumner, NM will lose this hidden gem.
