The original date was taken, but she called me back to let me know the date had become available, which immediately showed her attention to detail and willingness to support. I was given one month to source a venue that met all of my client's requirements, and this event space offered that and more. My client needed a venue close enough to the conference location, while also being accessible for guests traveling on their own. 1422 The Blvd checked those boxes. Let's start with communication. Shelah was prompt, helpful, and willing to work around the clock to ensure all of my questions were answered in a timely manner. The client portal was also great. Everything from scheduling a virtual tour to booking an in-person tour was simple. I was able to view the property through the 360-degree venue tour, which honestly sold me. When I arrived for the in-person tour, I was curious how it would work since I am used to touring with a site manager. But I simply texted Shelah, the door opened, and we stayed on the call while she helped orient me through the space and answer my questions. The venue was clean, open, and an easy blank canvas for about 100 guests comfortably if seated. What I really liked was the option to merge the indoor and outdoor space with the beautiful glass garage door. I wish we could have used it for this event, but we plan to come back next year and hope to open the space up then. They also have ample parking, with overflow parking behind a beautiful wooden gate that is closed off from the public. I especially appreciated that the private entry was able to accommodate an executive coach bus for 36 passengers. That was a logistical concern for us, but Shelah and her staff helped provide the best route to prevent congestion on the main street. Having her staff onsite was extremely helpful. I also appreciated that we did not have to source outside equipment rentals. The venue offers rentals at an additional cost, and if you know anything about planning events, you know delivery and pickup fees can add up quickly. Having rentals onsite helped us avoid those extra fees and created a cost savings of a few hundred dollars. I would definitely recommend using their in-house rentals. They also use HoneyBook to manage contracts, invoices, communication, and rentals, which made the process easy and organized. On the day of the event, we hired Shelah's staff to assist with setup. A lot of our staff were coming from out of the area and did not have the capacity to assist with setup. I shared with my client that utilizing the venue staff would save us time, and I'm so glad we did. We were able to share our desired floorplan, receive feedback on the best layout, and arrive to the event with everything already set up. All we had to do was place arrangements on the tables and set up the welcome sign. All vendors arrived before both my client and I did, and with remote access, they were able to set up before our arrival, which made the day run smoothly. This venue is truly a hidden gem. The pricing was competitive for the value, and the location is excellent--central to downtown, about 8 minutes from Arden Mall, and approximately 10-12 minutes from downtown Sacramento. I look forward to working with Shelah and her team again and will definitely be sending clients her way.

Decided to splurge for the…read more"Studio 24" package which gave us a separate entrance (no waiting in line), our own "VIP" lounge with some excellent free food (dumplings, egg rolls, and more), private restrooms (hey, that was cool!) and more. The layout is somewhat similar to Ace of Spades, but much nicer. We spent equal time down in the floor and in the balcony area (complete with a drink rail). All staff was just so gracious, welcoming, and helpful. It helped make the night really special, and we will definitely look for future events here.

"The Midnight" Put On Great Show In This Venue!…read more SITREP First time here! Never been to this venue before, so I was excited to check this place out when we got tickets to see "The Midnight" show this past Sunday evening, Sept. 20. THE SETUP First off, we got tickets for the Band's VIP pre-concert meetup requiring us to be there by 5:15pm (Doors officially opened @ 7pm / Music started @ 8pm). The venue is pretty spacious, and I'm just talking about the entry-way lobby: Large windows, beautiful murals, plenty of people to stand in line, congregate (my own personal gripe: there can't be enough ancillary seating in whatever part of the venue you're in, including the lobby; 64 years old here, not a fan of possibly standing for 7 hours, right?). But moving on, we were ushered in by venue staff into the main auditorium where the band was doing their soundcheck, so we got to watch the band practice for about 15 minutes on some of their songs while we were allowed to hangout and watch. MEET & GREET We were ushered back out into the lobby where we were able to cluster around Tyler - lead singer of "The Midnight" and have a great conversation! There were about 25 of us having an intimate chat with him which was a lot of fun: people asked questions about their music, inspiration for their lyrics, decisions on how many band members to have, etc. I always love pulling the left-turn, throwing a wrench into the flow, and asked Tyler, "How is it travel with the touring logistics with the diesel and other accommodations getting much more expensive? He was nonplussed but did say, "I've never been asked THAT before!" But answer he did. In fact, the band's manager chimed in and they both joked "Hey, if anyone wants to chip in on fuel costs, we're not too proud!" CONCERT The band rocked! Excellent show! The stage was elevated so no matter where you were standing on the main floor you had a decent view of the band. Luckily for us "old folks", there was bench-like seating all along the wall all around the perimeter of the room. Thank GOD. Suzanne and I took turns getting drinks but also managing to not give up our seats. We noticed the large balcony above and hadn't researched whether these were a different category of tickets. We noticed that it appeared (although it coulda been the dim lighting) there were no seats up there but rather three (3) separate rising tiers of bar-like rails for people to put their drinks on and lean against. LIGHTING An excellent feature about this venue - in contrast to it' most obvious competitor ACE OF SPACES - is that Channel 24 allows the venue, if desired, channel control of the auditorium's lighting-system to be controlled by the band's sound engineer: during heavy pulsating bass/drum rhythms, or percussive guitar work, the lights all around the room can pulsate with the songs rhythms. SERIOUSLY cool! DRINKS Ah well. Drinks at concerts, or festivals, or fairs, etc., are going to be expensive. My Jack & Coke, and Suzanne's Appletini were a coool $40 together w/o tip. So FYI. PARKING & MASS TRANSIT OPTIONS The venue is located right off the 23rd Street Light-rail station making it ideal to come to on mass transit with bus stops also conveniently located close. On this occasion, we drove to the venue and chose to avail ourselves of the $30 secured lot just in the next block from the venue (the other side of the lightrail tracks). THE LOWDOWN Channel 24 is a very good venue overall and I look forward to catching my next concert/show there.

Around 2:30 a.m., as my boyfriend was getting into bed, he spotted a bed bug crawling on the bed. We immediately contacted the front desk, and they offered to move us to another room. However, we were so disgusted and concerned about bringing bed bugs home that we decided to leave the hotel altogether and drive back to SF in the middle of the night. I later contacted the manager, not only to request compensation for our stay but also to make sure the issue was investigated, as it could indicate a larger infestation. He told me maintenance would inspect the room and that he would follow up with me. Despite several follow-up attempts on my part, I never received a response. Regardless of the investigation's outcome, the lack of communication and customer service was extremely disappointing. At the very least, I expected the courtesy of a follow-up. Don't stay here!

I was calling up another business that belongs to the same owners for an event with a very short notice, and their other business was booked. I asked their staff member if they had other venues available, and he told me to expect a call from their owner in the next few minutes. No more than 10 minutes later, the owner of this venue called and told me all about it, and just by his hospitality I was honestly blown away and sold on doing business with him. The rest of the story was an amazing event night (pictures speak to themselves), a wonderful food buffet, and a night to be remembered for years to come. Unfortunately you could see that the hot Sacramento sun was starting to take a bit of a toll on the beautiful buds, but nature is as nature does. Rose beds are arranged in a circular formation while climbing roses are grown on 10-ft tall trellises (the Grand Trellis here makes a good photo backdrop). I visited in late April. Most of the garden was still dormant but there were a few spots that couldn't wait to bloom with a bang (the roses that I saw were huge!). Was nice to see that even at this time the entire garden was well-kept (tidy walkways, absence of weeds in the rose beds, etc.). Free to visit. Plentiful parking. Definitely recommend taking a peek especially during peak blooming season!

The continental breakfast isn't out unitl 8, so I have no idea what the racket was all about. My allergies are bad here this time of year, but I can usually manage. I woke up with itchy eyes because the windows don't seal. They are still the original single pane. One of them was broken and a piece of plexiglass was installed to cover the opening. I chose this location because of proximity to the events I was attending, but I don't think I will stay again.
