This is only the second time I've been to creative approach. The first time I had no issues with my experience, but I just walked into the store with an electric scooter and before I could even close the door behind me a woman working here immediately jumped down my throat about how I couldn't bring the scooter inside in a rude and unwarrantedly aggressive tone. She said it was a trip hazard and I asked if I could fold it up and place it underneath the seats out of the way, and she continued to just be mean to me. I get it- It's finals week at SCAD and I'm sure they're swamped. But so am I- I'm on 2 hours of sleep. I don't have a bike lock. I don't have time to go home, drop my scooter off, and make the 45 minute trip back on foot. I quite literally do not have time for this. Give me a break and train your employees to not take their sh*t out on customers. read more

Never returning here again. I have been using this print shop for 3 years but every time I go it gets worse. First, they claim you can never have perfectly aligned double sided prints but when you go to leave they'll tell you they will line up. The prints then come out off center and they smile and say something like 'well haha it's just printers am-I-right?' (Which is BS, FedEx aligns things and so does VistaPrint) my photoshop files are always perfectly aligned and in the proper mode. Then, if you look closely, EVERY print comes out darker and a HELL-OF-A-LOT blurrier than it is on screen. They will say "oh well printing makes things darker, and your photoshop document has to be in CMYK" and EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN CMYK, it comes out muddied and dark. Example: if you print out a 50% gray, it will come out as %70 or even %80 gray. That's absurd. I'm pretty sure they print at 72 DPI or possibly LESS. Horrible quality. I went to FedEx recently and got some work printed there and WOW was it night and day. Things LINED UP AND WERE CRISP AND CLEAR. From now on all professional printing will be done at VistaPrint. Never coming back here. Never spending $40 on crappy service ever again. read more

Good for simple jobs - I used it all the time during freshman year. However their customer service is iffy at best (no line and I still have to wait an hour to get my stuff printed???) If you want more professional printing such as for resumes, you better read up on printing formatting and exporting. The staff doesn't help and they'll skip you on the sign in sheet too. You'll be shelling out a ridiculous amount of money if you make any mistakes, no matter how small because they offer no sort of compensation in the slightest. read more

Open very early and late during SCAD finals weeks which helps a lot. Even when there was a wait they handled my project well and were very clear with pricing so I didn't have any surprises at check out. Very high quality prints but can get expensive. Travis and his staff at Creative Approach are all seasoned pros in the printing/copying/graphic design game and most are SCAD alumni or students and thus know the parameters of producing printed work for SCAD projects. Many of the customers here are, not surprisingly, SCAD students getting school projects done where printing is required. However, the vast array of processes and jobs Creative Approach can offer extends well beyond what SCAD students require and I'm sure they've established a large and loyal following of local business clients, too. Most importantly to me, any time I came in with anything to get done Travis or someone else was there who could speak to me as a graphic designer in the language of graphic design. They understood what I needed because they understand the underlying art and business of design. Travis is also very patient and as other reviewers have noted, he will stand with a SCAD student (or any client) and not only help them get exactly the printed results they want, but suggest alternative approaches. Coming to Creative Approach, even to have something printed out, is not just like walking into a typical print shop but is like dealing one on one with a graphic designer. In example, I once had a fine art print I wanted printed and the yellow in the print looked a little off . . . I didn't really mind it but Travis noticed and said "Mike, I think we can do better . . . can you wait and let me try a couple different things?". With some work, he turned out an even better print for me. This man is dedicated to seeing that every print, every job, that leaves his business is exactly how the customer wants it and the best his company can provide. There was another time when Creative Approach did a large job for a SCAD department at the last minute and Travis and a couple other staff members stayed beyond closing time to complete the job at no extra cost. They never complained either, although none of the fact that the job ran over its alotted time was their fault. Nice Web site, therefore I called. I was hurriedly told the best way to get an estimate is to email one of the reps. Apparently that's not so. I emailed nearly 2 weeks ago. Yes, I had the correct address. I have a client starting up a new business and there will be a lot of print. I'd have jumped all over that. For starters, I would never brush someone off the phone, throw an email address out, and assume business will be handled. You answer the phone? Be ready to be a professional. Get my name and number... and follow up... SOON. My detailed request and contact info were in my email. I even stated, "Feel free to call me." Email is never 100%, kids. The 98% of the people who work at this establishment are extremely rude and could care less about their job or tearing people with kindness. They take advantage of students and think they own the show (which they do because they are one of the few printing places in sav). The quality of their print is on par with fed ex and is 5times as expensive. They are unwilling to help and heartless. With 20 people left in the store one of the head honchos refused to print a verry critical deadline document, even tho she was standing around doing nothing she refused to help in any way. I have never been so appalled by a stores customer service. You would think that because you are paying a small fortune to print they would have kind people. I've been in Graphic Design and Advertising Design for four years now at SCAD. Creative approach is the *only* place I'll go to get prints. They won me over my first year when I was trying to print on specific stock. Several other print shops in town told me it was impossible, that no one would be able to. Creative Approach said "let's try it" and it turned out spectacularly. They know what they're doing, Travis is frankly amazing at his job. He'll let you know what you can do at home next time to make each successive visit more smooth and easy on everyone involved. Their prices are much more competitive to FedEx and OfficeMax than most people assume, for several sizes Creative Approach is cheaper, and you can be sure you'll be getting better quality prints from more knowledgeable workers. read more

Absolutely Horrid experience. I guess for a little town like Savannah, having a row of low end imacs makes for an impressive display to some. However for those who are not confined to the southeast the display is far less impressive and can come across as pretentious actually. I arrived to this 'print shop' to request a quote for two large format prints. After several minutes of being blatantly ignored by the front female and male staff members, who seemed more interested in carrying on a conversation. I firmly requested service. This took place while another customer behind received the same dismissive treatment. I was asked to use one of their low end imacs to upload my design and that a representative would be with me shortly. Yet again after a lengthy period of time no one came over and I, yet again had to motion to the representative, who again was engaged in conversation with another staff member. Once he arrived I explained to him my print needs. Of which he responded with a quote so outrageous I was literally shocked. I explained to the rep that their fees were absurd and I walked out. I was quoted $64 per print for a black and white print on generic stock. I later made my way to the fedex print center where I had the same print, same dimensions, same stock made for a more reasonable $8 per print. I will never use Creative approach. I don't like the place and I certainly did not appreciate being treated as a non-person. If corporate contracts are more important, then perhaps they should stop offering print services to the general public. I don't know who these people think they are but their attitude is offensive and unprofessional. Avoid this place. read more

I've been to Creative Approach multiple times but I had the best experience ever yesterday. I dropped off my large file in the afternoon and it wouldn't print for some reason. Emma and Nate told me to come back in a few hours and hopefully it would work by then. In between those 4 hours they tried reprinting multiple times but for some reason my file wouldn't process. By the end of the night they got my file to print and I couldn't be more grateful for their help. read more

I went in for the first time the other day and I saw the employees of Creative Approach helping freshman set up their documents to get the best quality printing out of their work, I saw them working hard to make sure that each project was printed at the highest quality. Even when people were so rude to them, they took it like champs and helped the customers through their frustrations! I was very impressed not only with their customer service, but their fun-loving attitudes that never got in way of their work. I went there first, and they closed early. I had one small Illustrator file to print for a submission that I needed that evening. My fault for waiting until the last minute but: I had a class at Gulfstream that got out at 4:30 on a Thursday, went straight to Creative Approach and got there at about 10 till 5 (they close at 5). As I tried to open the door, they were standing inside behind the locked door, completely ignoring me. I will not bother trying to return. read more

I'm a Graphic Design student at SCAD. So I'm mostly looking for a place that I can get my projects printed well, at a good price. This place is actually my last resort place to print at. I've been here a handful of times but most of the time I try to avoid coming here. They're really expensive, and the customer service is pretty bad most of the time. Travis IS nice, but I've only really had him help me maybe once or twice. Maybe I've only been there when they have the not-so-great employees working or something... I've always had to wait a really long time for someone to come print my stuff, even when they aren't busy. It IS really like they ignore you or try to avoid coming up to you for as long as they can. And they are often kinda patronizing and snobby. The prints are nice but almost every time, when I try to get something printed double-sided, it doesn't line up. And it's not like I don't know what I'm doing; I'm a graphic design senior. If you have means of getting out there, go to Office Max. Sure, their employees aren't as knowledgeable as the guys at Creative so you need to have your files set up perfectly and ready to go right when you get there, but they're MUCH cheaper and they offer SCAD student discounts. Plus, their prints are good AND line up almost perfectly if you get them double-sided! read more

I had to get a 24"x36" presentation board printed last quarter for my final and I must say, I will probably never go back to this place again. I understand that it was close to finals when I went in but at that time, only one of their standard size printers was working, they were all out of mounting board so I had to leave with a giant scroll of paper and hope I could make it look half decent on my own. Not only was the mounting left to myself, I also had to cut this enormous sheet of paper myself on 4 tables that were pushed together that were NOT all the same height and a ruler that wasn't long enough. For the $70-something I paid to get it printed, I expected a lot more than what I got. Everyone else in my studio that went here to get it printed had the same complaints as well. I was upset with the customer service I received from this company. I found them on Wedding wire and it took over 2 1/2 weeks to get sketches back. The sketches were on a piece of paper and looked like they were drawn by a child. When I let them know that I had taken my business else where I received a rude email about her being out of country and the time it took her to draw sketches. She then asked me to follow her vacation on Instagram. I hope others have better customer service than I received. read more

Went to get my resumes printed and left with paying a ton for ones I couldn't even use. A crucial part of my design just came out as black and when the person helping me reprinted them they still charged me for the ones that were messed up. When we tried to fix it the type came out completely pixelated and unable to read. You could read the type on the first batch I printed so it wasn't a file error. I finally just left because I couldn't keep paying for someone to continually print unusable resumes and spend even more money. Before printing 20+ resumes on expensive paper, ask for a test copy first. I will not be returning. read more

This might have been the worst service I have ever received. I walked into the store hoping to print business cards, which I had been told on the phone 10 minutes earlier could be done in store. I stood at the counter waiting for assistance for 20 minutes while I watched 3 staff members notice me but avoid eye contact so as to avoid helping me. I was confused as to who worked there and who was a customer, but a lot of people seemed to be standing around and just staring at me. I finally approached someone wearing a name tag asking if she worked there. She rudely said yes and then proceeded to tell me I should order my cards online. Absolutely terrible experience I do not recommend their services to anyone. read more

When first walked in I wasn't greeted or even traded like I was there. The staff at this Creative Approach was very rude and seemed to busy to really care. I waited for a few minutes and waited for the staff to come over and recognize me. After a rude lady came over and asked me "what I wanted". On the other hand my prints came out good and were correctly printed. They seemed a WAY over priced to me. I got two smaller prints in back and white, without a glossy finish for $30. I am going to find another place to print and skip this bad attitude business and go somewhere where the customer service is better and appreciated. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! I went to SCAD and learned a lot through a print production class how to setup files for printing and what you're supposed to do. Over the years, I've used several different print places in Savannah, ranging from local print shops like Creative Approach to national chains like Kinko's and Office Depot. I have to say... Creative Approach has BY FAR been THE WORST. Here's why... 1. POOR QUALITY PRINTERS First of all, their machines are meant for office printing. They're using Xerox and low-end HP printers that are NOT meant for quality printing that's meant to be presentational-quality. These printers are meant for people who work in office, not art/design projects that are supposed to teach students how to be professionals in their respective industries. 2. LACK OF NECESSARY SKILLS The people who work here, even the owner, don't know how to set registration so that things come out correctly. They simply blame the printers for not being able to do higher quality prints and expect you to pay for sub-par printing that the COULD improve if they actually took the time to or even knew how. 3. ATTITUDE Again, even the owner is guilty here. They all have this attitude like they don't need your business and that they aren't responsible for the poor quality prints they produce. If your file isn't setup correctly, even though it's their responsibility to set things up specifically for their printers, it's your fault. If the print winds up being crooked, it's your fault. But guess what....they think it's your responsibiltiy to pay for it anyways! Savannah is in DIRE need of a better print shop. There used to be this place called Ink Branding, which was in business for about a year and a half until the owner got caught embezzling money or something. It sucked that they closed, though, because they actually did things RIGHT and KNEW what they were doing! Their prices were actually comparable too. They calibrated their printers daily, used high quality EPSON printers (Epson printers are a lot of maintenance but do the best print jobs if you know how to use them - the reason Creative Approach doesn't use them. They want to be cheap and not work). Ink Branding was also REALLY nice to everyone that walked into their doors. They even gave people discounts for being regular customers. It was great! I miss them... So yeah...other than Creative Approach, you have Image Is Everything, which is equally rude but way overpriced. They sometimes do a better job but they also don't pay attention to what you ask for and are still likely to screw up your job. Those are the only two local print shops downtown of the kind. There's a place called The Print Shop down by Oglethorpe Mall but I haven't used yet. Their staff seems WAY more professional, though, and their machines are SUPER high quality. They even have digital press! From what I could tell, their prices were reasonable too. But again, I haven't printed there yet so I can't vouch for them entirely. Just my thoughts...don't go to Creative Approach. You'll just waste your time and money, only to go home upset with a crappy print job. I don't understand how they're still in business... read more

The absolute worst. The only thing "creative" about this print shop is the way they do business. You walk into the shop and no one greets you. You are expected to know that you should approach a computer and just open your files. Then, if you manage to catch the attention of one of the employees, they will roll their eyes as they ask you questions about paper that you don't understand. However, this is pretty irrelevant because the employees here are highly skilled in the art of avoiding eye contact and pretty much all contact with potential human customers in general. After a half an hour with my PDF's open and ready to print, someone finally graced me with their presence and began the printing process. My final project of which I had worked over 40 hours on, was then sent to a printer named "Shelby". Isn't that cute? They name the printers with quirky girls names! My prints were then shoved into my face, after which I noticed they were completly wrong in the coloring. I knew what was coming, and I was right-- I creatively approached the guy who was (seemingly forced) helping me. I showed him the awful prints and, as expected, he tried to blame the bad colors on something I did. However, I was prepared and reiterated that I had saved it correctly as a PDF, used cmyk, and blah blah blah. THEN he said "well Phyllis is actually our best color printer" So I'm thinking, if Phyllis is so much better why was it not printed on "her" to begin with. Well, the reason is even more ridiculous than the inanimate object's name: he didn't print my important project on the best color printer because the downside to Phyllis is that she leaves dirty prints randomly on the page from previous jobs. Hmm. This is a professional place of printing business? And I was expected to pay HOW MUCH for this terrible representation of my work? Simply put: the hands down worst print shop AND customer service in savannah. read more

Locals look out. I hate to give a negative post but I've had terrible luck with this company. Used this business over the last 4 yrs and have had some great product come out of their shop, but have also had issues with quite a few things. The biggest problem I now have is the offensive service received from the owner. I have never been sent a proof for any past project or a question regarding layout confusion or pixelation. This might solve more problems, and friends I know who use them for larger businesses get proofs without having asked for them, but maybe because I'm only small fries I'm getting the shaft? It's MY money down the drain and is 3x more expensive than elsewhere. I help run a small business and need quite a bit of printing. I love local businesses but I'm tired of getting treated poorly when I don't know everything about setting up files, etc. So, the frustration comes in when I mention to the owner that the latest project was printed incorrectly (1/2 upside down) and ask if there's a way for me to work with him to remedy this. He sends two sentences stating that if I wanted it done correctly I should have asked for it that way...but the files I sent were correct and the printing was incorrect. I responded in that regard, that I was trying to tell them that it was wrong and the next response stated that they'd need to see proof of the mistake and that I shouldn't have accepted it if it was wrong. BOTH times stating it being my fault without question. That is really offensive to me, and I do not need to be treated poorly even if I were to be wrong. I do not think it is my fault because I trusted their product and did not look closely enough before leaving the store. So, next time I should search the product meticulously just to have them again tell me that it's my fault it is wrong (as with past projects) and eat the money?? Worst service. I am no customer service wizard but I know to treat people and customers with respect and admit when I'm wrong. Can't use them anymore. So frustrating. Maybe I could get all of the money back from projects they've done improperly and blamed on me in the past, too? Oy. Positives, they have friendly staff and when they tell you you're wrong and need to pay for their mistakes they do it with a smile. They are now going to refund me as they note their mistake, but at the cost of making a paying customer feel really small. NOT WORTH IT. read more

I wanted to take a second to give credit where credit is due to Travis Sawyer & the Creative Approach Team! I am getting married, and while attempting to get my wedding invitations completed, I was having a less than pleasant experience with another printing company in Savannah. A friend suggested that I connect with Travis Sawyer at Creative Approach since he had always taken great care of her professional needs in the local restaurant and hotel industry. After one email with Travis, I had peace of mind that this was my saving grace. Within ONE day, Travis and team had my design created, printed, offered to stuff the envelopes, place postage & return address labels and mail out my invitations for me! I was so delighted that they would take so much time and consideration for my tiny little order (35 invitations)! Travis said, that he wanted to make things "easier for me!" So kind, especially as a bride you have a trillion things to do, so to have some one say; "please, let me help you," is amazing! This was all done timely and for a VERY reasonable price. Such GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will definitely be using the Creative Approach Team in Savannah moving forward for all my printing needs...I suggest that you do too! Thanks so much :) read more
