Dropped in for some live music. First time visiting. Great small inside venue for music and some were dancing. Very large back area and patio. Back patio has bar and seating. This is a great place during great weather. Crowd may vary based on band. Staff was very friendly and the burger looked wonderful. We didn't eat but based on the number of burgers I saw ordered this might be the favorite. read more

The Cottage has some truly great people. The crowd is friendly, energetic, and full of talent -- the kind of community that makes a karaoke night special. Unfortunately, the experience is completely derailed by the karaoke host. From the moment you walk in, it's obvious this is a tight-knit clique -- and if you're not part of it, don't expect a fair shot at the mic. The host doesn't hide it either. Playing favorites, skipping over people who aren't part of the "in crowd," or pushing you back with vague excuses -- it's all part of the routine. I've been there enough times to see the pattern: regulars get priority while new or talented singers wait around, get one song in (if that), and leave feeling like they wasted their night. It's especially frustrating because the vibe from the people is genuinely welcoming -- but the host creates a barrier that ruins what should be a fun, inclusive event. Pleasant venue with above average food, but generally overrated compared to its peers. Went on a date night and was placed at the tables closest to the bar -- literally 5 feet from the very loud bar. When the restaurant has 3-4 other large rooms with more spacious seating, it should be obvious to the host when seating couples who made reservations to not place them in the bar area. The fact that this non- fine dining restaurant basically requires valet parking is interesting. read more

Came in real late, food was amazing was really sad i couldn't eat it all, it has a very welcoming vibe super calm because of the the time, staff were absolute angels treated us like family. A good ol pub like the ones I've visited in Ireland. Love the happy hour specials, trivia night and the performers. Music overhead is a little loud for conversation, but they adjusted it when we asked. I like that TV is not in every room, choose a room or patio to fit your mood. Divey, dingy, stiff drinks, cold beers, have great music/band and good service. This is the type of place you would go to after a long week of work. You just have to seat down, order some drink, relax and listen to the band ( thank god they didn't play PourSome Sugar on Me) any band who doesn't play that Dallas anthem is a good band in my book. Lol. I had a good time people watching and just looking around the place. They have random artworks around the bar area wall and their bar set up is something I've never seen before. They have a round shaped table/ shelving smacked down in the middle of the bar and that's where they have all of their liquor bottles and glassware. If you're ever in the area stop by this awesome bar and I promise you won't regret it. Not only did Kelly the bartender make us we feel right at home (I'm from CA) but all the locals did as well. We got lucky finding the Cottage and spent every night here. The drinks are great, food is fantastic but the people are even better. It's not everyday that you can walk into a place while traveling and feel like you've been a regular there for years but that's exactly what happened on the first night. We made some great new friends and we can't wait to go back to Texas to visit them at the Cottage. read more

I grew up doing my homework on a bar-top in north Chicago - This place instantly made me feel right at home! It was almost identical, except The Cottage has one of the best and comfortable "backyard style" wood-deck patios I've chilled on. It was over 90' but you couldn't tell with their fans, tin roof and sun shades. When the sun set, they rolled up the shades, kicked on the twinkle lights and opened the garage door wall so we could see and hear the band that was playing inside. Great live sound and the digital jukebox played a perfect mix -inside and out- at a reasonable level during happy hour. The ladies bathroom is certainly no dive bar crapper either! I was shocked when I opened the door! Beautiful. Cool memorabilia, wall-art and just enough plasmas along with Golden Tee, some other fun games and two pool tables spread around. The food? We got the burger after seeing another Yelper post a photo. WOW! Sincerely one of the best I've ever eaten (yes, EVER) choice of beans or crinkle cut fries with seasoning (we loved those!) and the beer is really iced down - so bring your koozie. Eventually they'll have a working patio bar and it definitely feels like you're at a friend's home kicking back. Love the location, too. As of this posting date, they haven't even had their grand opening yet, so it's cool to see the nice support from others! They open early and it's only going to get better while they continue their build. It was so cool that I asked for a job. haha I'll update with more photos soon! Went in and waited about 10 min for a beer. 10 minutes is a long time when there are only 3 other people there actually drinking. Basically, the idiot dropped off beer and didn't give me a chance to pay before she disappeared with some guy? Another patron asked me if I had cash for the jukebox, seeing as said bartender couldn't be found. Traded that for the beer I didn't get a chance to pay for. I guess I inadvertently hit on "her man" cuz the next beer I asked for (after waiting around for 20 minutes trying to give her money), I needed to "pay now" and get an Uber. Has an absolutely beautiful patio but was empty. Hmm wonder why..... SHITTY SHITTY SERVICE!!!! Sure has gone downhill since the last time I went in. read more

I'm a lot different than most people my age when it comes to bars. I don't like anything loud. I don't like anything crowded. I just want to have a drink and relax. I'm a dive bar girl all the way! Ok, this kinda makes me sound like a grandma. However, with this mentality, I fit in PERFECTLY with the Cottage Lounge. This is the ultimate in dive bars (inside reminds me of Lakewood Landing). There are no frills. Don't expect to see the "typical" Dallas crowd dressed to the nines. It's just a good, old fashioned, get drunk-and-hang-with-the-locals bar. The bartender that I've had is awesome. SO friendly. The patrons are just the same. Just there to have a good time. I love the jukebox. Perfect mix of country and rock. The shuffleboard table and pool table are in great shape. I hear they even have a shuffleboard league! WARNING: Don't go here if you're expecting to see a ton of people in their 20's-30's (I'd say it's 45+ on average). Don't go here if you're expecting a rowdy, crazy, crowded kind of place. Go here if you are in the neighborhood, you want a very laid-back atmosphere, with some good company! Honestly, I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, only because it's not very close to where I live; however, if I was in the hood, I would definitely swing by again. read more

Seems to have pretty good bar food. $9 burger is HYUUUGE with a million fries, and damn tasty. Coronas are only $3.50. As far as I can tell, nice music bands. NO COVER CHARGE when I went, so think about looking for a band's tip jar, ESPECIALLY when they have 4 or more members. Bands truly struggle to break even, and while you and I are drinking and laughing, they're working - and just for us. read more

It has a great polished rustic theme which makes you immediately think it may be a country bar but all types of music is played of course DJ'ed by the diverse customer base this bar appeals to. The back patio is large has a nice flow due to the large glass overhead sliding door that remains open when the weather is nice. If you loved "The Hole in the Wall", but sad it closed, or if you loved "Conflict of Interest", and was also sad it closed. Fear not, because the same crowd found its way here. Good blues or Jam band fare serenades the crowd of 50-somethings as they drink their day away. I'm 40, and regularly the youngest person there. Good place. Just don't used credit card. Only pay cash. We used a credit card. Ask for the tab and told the bartender no to put the tab on the card we would pay cash. We got the card back, paid in cash. The next day our bank account showed the $52.50 taken out also. My husband went there to talk to the owner. Of course she, Heather, was not there. The bartender took the information and said she would tell the owner when she came in. Of course never heard from the owner. At the time there was no phone number to call. read more
