The DeLeon's were absolutely attentive to myself, my groom, our guests and our schedule for the entirety of our big night. They recommended their favorite officiant (Pastor Williams) and caterer (Katie's Catering) since they know them so well and they are familiar with how things work and you can't ask for much more than that when it comes to having an amazing team on your side working together to create the perfect night to remember. This lovely couple-run event space works hard to ensure they are in tune with your needs and even worked within our budget in a way no other venue has ever attempted to do. These people truly care about your experience even more than themselves and will go the extra mile to make sure it's everything you wanted it to be and more. They were with me every step of the way in terms of arranging meetings and planning the event - even to coordinating with the vendors so it takes a whole load of stress off the soon to be newly-weds. I even recall having a few short panic attacks to the months leading up to the day of the wedding and they phoned me to psyche me up and pep talk me out of my haze. If any of my friends are looking for a stunning wedding space (WITH THE RECEPTION ON SITE!!! A huge rarity these days!) I will always recommend this place to the moon and back.

Being new to Missouri I had no clue where to start..I had two weeks to find the perfect place. I…read morewas booking 3-4 venues a day trying to find the one...I was even considering not having the wedding in KC because the venues didn't have that "WOW" factor. I pulled up to The DeLeon..before I got out of my car I called my fiancé and told him that I hadn't looked at the venue yet but I know this is THE ONE This brick building was a beauty. I've never seen a place so beautiful in my life. Jodie greeted me at the door for a tour and she was just as beautiful as her venue. As I looked around in every room with Every step I took I fell more and more in love with this place. The colors and all the decor the venue had were so me! I booked another tour the following week so my fiancé can have a look...We took the tour with Eric. Eric is a blast and his personality lights up the room. He's the type of person you can talk to for hours yet it feels like minutes. Good guy! My fiancé was so quiet I couldn't tell if he liked the venue I was getting worried. when the tour was complete and we were in the parking lot he looked at me and said this is the one I was beyond excited and it was time to start planning. I've never been married before and I felt so overwhelmed. Jodie and Eric were always available by phone, text, or email and I can honestly say without their help I couldn't have done this all. They directed me to the caterer, DJ Mike with Fernando productions, the photographer Jared Cook with JC photography, the florists, etc. I got the best of the best! Jodie and Eric helped with me the colors, the lighting, and table decor. Not one detail was missed and I seen it all come together on our wedding day of 2/22. I was blown away seeing all the final touches Jodie and Eric did. Candles were lit, rose petals were down, music filled the air and they did it with smiles on their faces and were ready to make my day one to remember. This place felt so alive and magical. They treated me like family. I felt so comfortable. I wish I can do it all over again and I wouldn't change a thing. Jodie and Eric was with us step by step. They directed us the whole way through. My hubby and I got lost a moment when we were cutting the cake and all we had to do was look at Eric and we were back on track.I had one of the hardest dresses to bustle and both Jodie and Eric jumped in and got it figured out together. They love what they do and they do it flawlessly. And ladies make sure to tell your guests that the centerpieces aren't available for take home..my mother thought they were and had her eye on a gold glitter tree. I was so embarrassed she ran off with it but it turned out to be one of the best highlights of the night. Eric had a good time teasing me about it and a hilliarious video surfaced on social media that has me laughing to this day still. Those are the types of memories I have booking my wedding with Jodie and Eric @ The DeLeon. I'm confident No other venue will compare. Thank you sooo much Jodie and Eric DeLeon. Tears filled my eyes typing that you made the most important day in my life one to remember and cherish forever

Since then, she has stopped responding completely and my mother has been waiting to host a "pending cancellation" date for my father's celebration of life for over 3 weeks now. My father passed away from cancer, and Alex said she's not going to pressure the bride of the cancelled wedding bc she was recently diagnosed with cancer. I can fully respect that, however we only need the venue bc of the same reason, except it was a cancer death. I'm very disappointed with Alex's lack of professionalism, communication and overall her inability to manage multiple clients at once. In my honest opinion, having planned many events in my life, she cares more about the additional money a wedding would bring in, than actually providing fair and equitable customer service to her clients. Very disappointed. House venue is also smalls, old, outdated and very choppy small rooms. Outdoor venue is beautiful, but only in decent weather.

The venue provides a unique, historic KC location with a strong team of vendors to choose from. Some of the top reasons we recommend: 1. The beautiful on-site chapel that allows for a church setting and no need for a room flip. 2. Early access to venue for set-up (3 days before our event) and ability to return the following Monday for clean up. This allowed us to simply enjoy the entire day on Saturday. 3. John and his staff were so fun to work with. We loved his humor, energy and knowledge.

Loose Mansion is the former home of one of the Sunshine Biscuit founders. Being from out of town, I…read morewas completely unaware of the space or family. The mansion become one of our things to do while in the area. Our visit to this historic home was due to a wedding. The ground floor was elegantly decorated. Lots of soft candle light. Rich wood gives the space a regal feel. Along with weddings, this would be a fantastic venue for a roaring 20's party. Two additional floors are located upstairs. The middle floor is primarily where the wedding parties ready themselves/wait. That floor is less formal. In the space are some pieces of memorabilia from the Sunshine company. Included are some rather ornate cracker tins. The top floor has a ballroom. Ballroom also has space for a bar. This is another refined space. Between the wedding ceremony and dinner, guests were sent to the basement for hors d'oeuvres and drinks. The basement has a different vibe. Murals of old time towns adorn the walls. The seating area almost has a wine tasting vibe. A brochure available for guests as a scavenger hunt in it. This brochure includes information about the mansion being haunted. My children were also convince that there were secret passageways in the house. They never discovered any. Who know, maybe you will.

First of all, when the client contacted me and asked me to help with her daughter's wedding, I…read morereadily agreed. The Loose Mansion managers, Abbey and Loren, seemed to have an attitude issue. I wanted the wedding event to be just as memorable for the client as they... but they seemed to want to make things unnecessarily difficult. When I arrived at the scheduled time, neither Abbey nor Loren were there. No one else knew anything about any of the A/V equipment that Loose Mansion provides. Awhile later, Loren arrived. I introduced myself and was as pleasant as I could possibly be. Again, I received a "not so warm" reception. There was just a prevailing attitude of arrogance, entitlement and an unfriendliness. Because Loose Mansion was providing the video projector for the event, I asked Loren if we could plug my computer into the projector prior to the arrival of guests to make sure everything operated correctly. She told me that she probably wouldn't have time to allow me to test the hook-up because she was "so busy". I thought to myself "had you arrived at the time we had agreed upon, perhaps you would have had time to check important components like making sure the A/V would work." I was told that I would need to bring my own sound system and mics because they don't allow any "outsiders" to touch their equipment. So I came prepared with speakers, speaker stands, mixer, mics, and audio playback. As I was setting up the computer, I couldn't get the "Loose Mansion" WiFi network to work. I said something to Loren and she told me that I would have to connect to the "office network". The WiFi network was so ridiculously slow that no webpage would even load up. I thought that something must be wrong... so I connected to the network with my phone to check the speed there. Again, practically non-existent speed... so bad that nothing would work (see the screen caps from both my computer and my phone). I was afraid to say anything to Loren or ask her to reset her router for fear that I'd get another harsh response. So I just set up my own hotspot and used that. I finally did mention it to Loren and she said "Yes, it's very slow... we just tell people to download everything they need in advance." It seems ridiculous that a professional "event space" facility would have WiFi that is virtually of no use whatsoever. As the set-up for this very nice wedding event proceeded, I noticed that Loren was wearing a black skirt for the event, but with old green sneakers. I thought that she was just wearing these old green sneakers because they were comfortable during the set-up process, but surely she'd change into something more presentable for the wedding once guests started to arrive. Wrong! Later during the event, I overheard one guest mention her appearance to another guest... they were also surprised that management would allow an onsite manager to dress like this for a client's wedding event. They forgot to turn on the speakers for the ceremony, so if you were sitting in the room used for the ceremony, it sounded like all of the sound/music was coming from the room behind you (there were speakers in other rooms of the house). After the ceremony, as guests went for cocktails, we started to set up our gear for the after-dinner event. The "unused" Loose Mansion speakers were still sitting on the small stage... and when I asked Loren if we could move them aside so we could have room for our speakers, she said "No, we'll leave them right where they are!" Unbelievable! Another thing noticed was the fact that in order to lower the projection screen from the ceiling mount, Loren had to get a tall staffer who stood on top of a bucket or something and then used a plastic coat hanger to try to reach the bottom of the screen and pull it down. Tacky! My review is directed to other vendors/event planners. I've never had to deal with event space management who was NOT a team-player with the goal of wanting to create a stellar event by working TOGETHER with vendors. Instead, there was noticeable resistance. It's really too bad!
