This is THE BEST thing in the world, between one and five am. It's tradition; most local revelers who find themselves in Manly late on Saturday night will frequent The Corso Bakehouse. Dangerously convenient, The Corso Bakehouse finds itself on Manly Corso between the cab rank and most licenced establishments - uh, oh.
Drunk or sober, two am or two pm, many find The Corso Bakehouse to be difficult to resist. The smell it gives off is heavenly - as I wait in the line, I feel like I am inside a bread roll. Or perhaps that's the several cocktails I had before hand... The food manages to live up to its incredible smell, and taste ah-ma-zing! Whether you're in the market for a meat and potato pie, a macaroon or a sweet bun with sprinkles, The Corso Bakehouse is where it's at. Unlike so many ill-humored McDonalds/KFC/Burger King/kebab shop employees, the staff of The Corso Bakehouse take the queues of raving mad drunk people very well. They are always polite and ready to have a laugh - whether it be at you or with you.
I shouldn't sell The Corso Bakehouse as exclusively a hang for the area's alcoholics while they wait for a cab. No, as I said before, it's a really popular daytime spot for the more respectable members of society. It's just that the food is THAT GOOD that every person in Manly wants a sausage roll on the way home. read more
