This business is closed since Covid. This was the best place to go, it's sad it's closed down and homes are built on the property now. .

Better Food Farm - Gorgeous radishes

We've recently started to pay more attention to the food that we eat, using meal-prep and paying…read moreattention to macros to ensure that we fuel our bodies in the most efficient and healthy way. However, much of the products that our local grocers stock may also carry implications of poor farming practices. So, we try to shop local, both to ensure peak freshness and the highest ethical standard we can. Better Food Farm is a local, Ogden-based family farm using organic practices. We were lucky to try a large haul of a variety of their leafy greens (including herbs, spinach, red leaf lettuce, salad spring mix, spring onions, bok choy, and the most vibrant gorgeous radishes you've ever seen) this past week. If you think you won't be able to taste the difference between their spring mix and the kind in the plastic clamshells you get at the store, you'll be in for a serious surprise. Everything was incredibly flavorful. Also, there's something about fresh radishes that "conventionally" grown radishes can never live up to (I put conventional in quotes because, well, according to history, modern growing practices are anything but conventional). I swear you can taste all the passion and care this family puts into their produce. In speaking with the family behind this little farm, they're going to be at the Salt Lake City Farmers Market so I recommend that you look for them there.

I'm currently obsessed with these turnips. They are juicy... sweet... buttery? Yup. Buttery. Careful, you might have a hard time going to the grocery produce section after this.

They had a ginormous chair we could take photos in, so we took full advantage of that :) This little store is chuck full of food and items made locally. They have produce, candy, ice cream, soda, beer, lotions, coffee, dog treats, decor and everything in between. In the back they have a vending machine where you can buy Bingham Custom Meats bacon bombs. We haven't used it yet, but it looks so awesome! The employee there was a rockstar! She helped us figure out our candy bouquets and made them look awesome! The kids absolutely loved them and I think we're going to need to do this again. Maybe the husband and I will get one for ourselves too next time.

It was very organized, they had a great variety of pumpkins and they were priced well. Our kids chose 3 good size pumpkins and we only paid $13. We loved the little store! We bought some sourdough, cookies, donuts, a cinnamon roll, and garlic knots. The vanilla cronut was soft and had great texture and sweetness! The cinnamon crumble donut had great flavor, sweet and moist! We warmed up the pumpkin cinnamon roll when we got home and it was rich in flavor. You get a subtle pumpkin flavor, but it was so delectable. The sourdough garlic knots were soft on the inside and had a nice garlic flavor, we warmed it up when we got home and paired it with some marinara and it was amazing! Definitely recommend going! We loved it and so did our kids!

In addition to all the grocery goods indoors ranging from fresh fruits and vegetables to coffee, honeycomb, meats, cheeses, and pastas, they also have soaps, lotions, balms, and other household items that are cute and functional. Their holiday shop is adorable with festive mugs, glasses, notepads, gift tags, and more They currently also have a tree lot outside and their Christmas trees are very fairly priced for their height We came during their holiday shop celebration and they showed off their event venue with hot cider, cronuts, donuts, and music. The dried flowers hanging from the loft are quite charming. Everyone was friendly including the two shop cats There are two parking lots including a smaller parking lot right in front of the shop and a larger overflow lot in front of the goats and small ponies. Recommend wearing boots or sturdy shoes and walking a little away from the fence to avoid the errant droppings. Lots of cute swings and benches for relaxing or photo ops and a fun festive environment. Totally recommend this local gem!
