The Cool Team just finished replacing the 20 year old air conditioning system in our new condo at Kings Point in Delray Beach. But after looking at some of the other Yelp reviews, I was hesitant to hire them. I received bids from three other AC companies and The Cool Team's proposal offered the best value. I checked with some neighbors and they were quite happy with The Cool Team, so I took the plunge! The telephone reps at their office were friendly, knowledgable and super efficient. They scheduled the installation within the tight timeframe we needed. The crew arrived on time and were very professional and friendly. They wore masks the whole time they were inside our condo and put down lots of canvas tarps to keep our place clean. The job took a little over 4 hours and I'm very happy with the results. My experience with CoolTeam is limited to services provided under a yearly service contract for a Kings Point Delray Beach condo. It appears that CoolTeam markets heavily within this and other 55+ retirement communities, providing yearly maintenance and minor repairs (by contracts where the rate is based on age of appliances), to all appliances within a unit, plus minor electrical and plumbing. I think many of the elderly residents, especially those 80+, take comfort knowing that if something goes wrong with their HVAC or dishwasher or washing machine, they can call one number and a technician is scheduled. I used services under the existing service contract to have an AC unit checked and tuned-up, which cost $39.95, and again to have the coils cleaned on the AC, which cost $334. The coils probably had never been cleaned in the 10 years the unit was in place, as they were filthy, likely due to the use of a filter which was improperly sized, allowing dirt to enter the unit. Establishing an appointment for either wasn't difficult, call their local or toll free unit. The reason for the 3star rating was the demeanor of the tech who handled both service calls. He was gruff. He was abrupt. He had an annoyed tone in his responses to simple questions I asked. He was rushing. He was dismissive. He talked down to me. Bottom line, he was nasty, as if he was constipated and needed to take a good dump, or more likely, just plain disgusted with his life as a service tech where 95% of his clients were 85 years old. I'm not reading too much into his behavior, I think I'm reading him well. When I mentioned him to my contractor who had just finished renovating the condo, he knew exactly who I meant, and said "I'll talk to him when he arrives and set him straight". I don't like, no, I am repelled by service providers who are dealing with clientele in the 80's who treat them with disrespect, annoyance, impatience. Their behavior is intimidating to these elderly and sometimes frail or infirm residents. Management of CoolTeam should counsel this tech to be nicer and more sensitive. While I sensed he was efficient and competent and did what needed to be done correctly, I felt like telling him he was a nasty angry man, and that I hoped his Mom or Dad or Grandparents were never treated as rudely and insensitively as he interacted with me. And I'm not in my 80's, far from it. Oh, I still tipped him well, as my bleeding heart liberal NY upbringing came to the forefront and I figured most elderly residents under tipped or didn't tip at all, and he deserved to be recognized for his efficient and competent work. But he was nasty, simply grump, nasty, rude, abrupt. Like he was doing me a favor showing up and doing his job. (In college sociology course we learned the concept of "role disdain" - that's when someone's despises the responsibilities of their jobs, and takes out their annoyance about their life on those they interact with. I'm certain we meet a lot of people like that, huh? Check out other companies which provide the same package service contracts. Ask neighbors. read more

Cool Team installed and has been servicing our AC unit for 7 years. They are professional, reliable and do fantastic work. When we did have a problem, they showed up immediately to fix it and helped me work through the insurance process with FPL. Would definitely recommend them! read more

Stay far away from this company. I purchased a brand new split system air conditioner from this firm on 12/5/2018. It worked ok until November of 2020. When I called them to come out, they said it would be a $95 charge to look at the unit. They said the compressor was bad and that the parts would be covered under warranty, but the labor would be $380. Then last night the unit stopped working again. The technician came today at 1 PM and again $95 to look at it. He came into the unit looked for 10 seconds and then checked the fuse box and said the compressor is bad again. He told my tenant that it was not in stock and on back order and he didn't know when it would come in. I called the office and again was told $380 to fix it in under a year. The office staff including Danyle are extremely rude. I asked them for a break on the labor charge and she told me to pound sand. She told me that the technician was on the roof and that was and is a big fat lie. I have video evidence. She then proceeded to call me a liar and told me to find another person fix the unit. HOW COULD THEY KNOW THE COMPRESSOR WAS BAD WITHOUT EVEN LOOKING AT IT??? What a rip off place, stay far away. read more

Do not use Cool Team. I bought a new air conditioner from them and because of their incorrect installation and sloppy work the new unit flooded my home. They ignored my calls for 5 weeks. I Found out when I had another contractor check the unit that they had 5 code violations and never pulled a permit . They made up excuses which why they never pulled a permit. There is no excuse for nt pulling a permit or trying to trick your customer. The bottom line is they will not take responsibility for the flood. Do not use Cool Team. When you need them....they are not there and ignore you. Not a company that I would trust read more

Brand new central A/c installed, first day heat no work, 3rd day the a/c stops working altogether right before the eve of the New Year. Called service department and said can fix next week UNLESS I PAY EXTRA to have technician come out. So I am 4 days without A/C. Not cool team! read more
