Avoid these guys…read more I'll try to write this as objectively as possible, as I dislike reviews that are obviously based more on emotion than service. My motherboard, and therefore computer, broke on my laptop while they had it. This was after saying they had fixed the issue it was brought in for (loose power jack) twice, only to find out on getting home they hadn't fixed anything. They have repeatedly refused to admit any possible fault, instead saying that the motherboard must have "been weakened" before I brought it in despite the fact that it was working perfectly. That, while a faint possibility from what I've researched, is extremely unlikely and seems to be a common excuse used by disreputable shops to pass blame for a faulty repair onto the consumer. Regardless, most shops will at least try to find an amicable solution and work with the customer, rather than bluntly saying that any damage that occurs while they have your machine is not their fault. I assumed they must carry insurance for issues like this, and was told that they do not. If something happens to your computer or they do something to it, they will pass the buck to you. I asked if they would at least apply the $90 I'd already spent on the repairs they'd done (that led to the bricked motherboard) on their $150ish motherboard installation charge (you then supply the motherboard) and they even refused that, saying they performed services - even though these services destroyed my laptop. This is unacceptable for any business. Stay away from this place. I like to support local businesses, but once a place has shown such poor customer service, negligence, incompetence and corner cutting, it is time to move on. Let this dinosaur die.

It pains me to write this. PAINS me. One of the last alternatives for local printing, had one of…read morethe BEST service counters in the state. Being a cartoonist, I went there for many many things. Majorly for finished art to be printed. In the beginning, they had a wonderful rep named Bernard who KNEW his stuff. He cared about his job and the people he served. About 2 years ago, I started to see Bernard less and less and the implementation of DIY printers that you are told to use. These are cumbersome to say the least, seldom loaded with the type of paper I need and the new staff just doesn't want to help you. Especially their "pissy" manager. I needed something on a Saturday for a gift to be printed. The full service print shop I now go to was closed, so I went to Office Max to get it done. It was just as bad as I remembered the experience to be but even worse. Literally, there were 4 customers in the store, including my wife and I. 2 employees were at the print registers. One was finishing a customer and the other was at the register. I stood and waited for him to address me. After a minute he asked "can I help you". I said YES! I am so glad to see you up here, I hate those machines, I need a thicker paper and could you print this ONE picture for me. He said "No. I am swamped, I can print it tomorrow. And you can pick it up." I said it's one picture? He said you will have to use the machines over there. He was the manager. The other employee heard I was looking for a longer sheet and ran to see it was loaded. Which I thanked him for. These DIY machines make you pay at least $5 with a credit card to Office Depot and then you can print. There is a myriad of options. I have often walked away without what I came for. I don't like them. I don't work there. All the manager had to do is: put in my usb. select pdf. press print. Less than 60 seconds. Instead I was told to come back. To drive back home, then come back the next day and go back home. Gas is atrocious. But truly, it's a very common attitude in this day and age. And also why there were 3 customers in the store on a beautiful Saturday. And Christmas. And back to school. It's the people running the place that make the difference. Bring back Bernard!!! Pay him what he wants. I wanted to complain to the manager.... but you know the story. What a shame.

Instead of charging me to do a house visit and troubleshoot, he told me that my printer was known to have connection issues, and it would be cheaper and more reliable to purchase a new one. He did offer to do a home visit, if that is what I wanted but didn't recommend it. And then he called me back giving me printer recommendations and links to where they could be purchased. I followed his advice and am super happy with my new printer! How refreshing it is to do business with someone who has your best interests (and wallet) in mind and not someone who just wants to make money. I strongly recommend (and do to all my friends) if you need assistance with computers - Joe is your guy!

I couldn't get repairs at the time so I decided to come back later. A month later they charged me $100, despite the fact I brought my own replacement battery effectively doubling their going rate, and I had no recourse because I forgot to ask ahead of time what they would charge me. (All they did was update my bios, clean my computer and fix the keyboard cable.) (I'm the college kid who had his bike stolen too, so I hope you sleep well at night.)
