Much of the food is donated by local stores or restaurants. They get a ton of stuff into their warehouse. They always go through the daily protocol in the big conference room. You are to wear gloves and a hair cover and beard cover for those with facial hairs. Now you can add a face mask to the attire too. You start the event work around 9am and work until 11am to noon. The warehouse job is the hardest. I have sorted through some rough looking potatoes, to water logged and decrepit looking cucumbers and tomatoes. It makes you really appreciate the foods we can easily pick through at the grocery store to get the most appealing ones. Any sign of mold gets tossed. This is the hardest of the jobs, but also the most rewarding since it's labor intensive too. I have also had the pleasure of assembling sandwiches in the kitchen too, with wheat squares of bread, some meat like slices of pork meat of some sort and cheese too. Volunteering your time and energy is greatly rewarding and so helpful to those in need. This is a great center that gives back ro the community. At the end of your day, they will brief you on how many bags or boxes of food were boxed that day. It's the only day big the original big 3 OEMs groups can collaborate and work together side by side without any intellectual property issues too.

Every time I would call or ask the front desk in person they'd tell me I need to talk to someone else. My psychiatrist even emailed them twice asking that they assign me one. I ended up seeing a therapist in another office and continued to see my psych at Judson center. She was filling out FMLA paperwork for accommodations to remain working from home, and one day she decides that I should return to office, against both my physical and mental wellbeing. My therapist agreed that she did not handle this properly and thankfully took over filing out my paperwork for me so that I can remain working from home. I have since left the office and found a new psych. I do NOT recommend going to this office. They also have lost my paperwork before and they do not return calls or messages. A complete lack of accountability.

Cranbrook, my love! A staple in Oakland County all my life! As a child, I came here for summer…read morecamps at the Science Institute, climbed that stegosaurus, and played about in the fountains. As a teenager, Cranbrook was my rival, as I went to Country Day for high school! As an adult, Cranbrook is one of my favorite places to walk with my dog all year round. We love coming here to appreciate the House & Gardens, walk around the lake, soak in the architecture & art, and share it all with our family and friends! Every time we come here, we see photoshoots happening (and maybe I have done a few for my dog too in the past) - whether it be senior photos, weddings, family photos, or what - Cranbrook is the perfect backdrop! It's dog-friendly, if you haven't gathered that yet, and the campus is so big that there is so much to do here. Nowadays, we love parking at the art museum and walking over to the House & Gardens and around the lake to the Japanese Garden and just doing that path regularly! It's a whole campus: art museum, sculpture garden, grounds, historic homes... The campus began when Detroit newspaper mogul George Booth and his wife Ellen Scripps Booth founded the complex, which eventually included schools, an academy of art, their house and gardens, a church, and more. The Cranbrook House is one of the many reasons to visit the campus. The house was designed for the Booths in 1908. It was designed by Detroit architect Albert Kahn, who designed it as an English Tudor estate in the Arts & Crafts style. They lived in the home for 40 years, and it does feel like a family home. We visited it as part of the Three Houses Tour that Cranbrook offers seasonally. We were only able to visit a few rooms on the main level, but they were worth visiting! The gardens around the house are also very beautiful! We spent pretty much a whole day at Cranbrook between a visit to the art museum and the Three Houses Tour! I wish we'd gotten there earlier to allow more time to explore the grounds and gardens, but the campus as a whole - and the House and Gardens - are worth a visit!

While we were aware of some controversy and mixed reviews going in (which naturally gave us pause as homeowners) meeting in person with the team and better understanding their model, quickly put us at ease. From start to finish, the process exceeded our expectations. Sara, the team leader on our sale, was absolutely outstanding. She was an exceptional communicator, incredibly patient, and very knowledgeable. The entire team working over the two-weekend sale were fabulously attentive and helpful. Sara's professionalism and calm guidance made what could have been a stressful situation feel organized, thoughtful, and even enjoyable. She clearly cared about both our goals as new homeowners and the overall experience for buyers. When we acquired the home, it was filled with remarkable antiques, and we had factored the potential revenue from an estate sale into our plans for an extensive (and costly) historic renovation. Timing was also critical--we needed everything cleared quickly, but we were committed to ensuring that nothing of value was unnecessarily discarded. Just as important, we wanted the sale to feel welcoming and positive for shoppers, neighbors, and anyone from our community stopping by to appreciate the home. Much of the criticism we've seen about Aaron's centers around pricing. From our perspective as sellers, the results speak for themselves: approximately 95% of the inventory sold, across more than 1,000 transactions. With that volume, it's unrealistic to expect perfect pricing on every item. Most pieces were priced at or slightly below retail, and as the sale progressed, prices were reduced as needed to ensure items moved. That's simply how a successful estate sale works: pricing adjusts based on demand. Items that buyers felt were worth a premium sold early, and others sold once discounted. In the end, nearly everything found a new home. Some vocal critics (but supporters of our home restoration project) reached out hoping we would not recommend Aaron's. While we understand their desire to purchase antiques at rock-bottom prices for resale, that approach would have significantly reduced the revenue we needed to reinvest in the home. Even so, we saw many items quickly reappear on Facebook Marketplace at higher prices...proof that great finds and profitable deals were still made. As sellers, we exceeded our goals, and as homeowners, we'll always look back on this experience fondly. Aaron's Estate Sales, and especially Sara, played a huge role in making that happen. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Disappointing experience with little transparency, questionable value, and a concerning lack of…read moreaccountability. Following the loss of my mother, I hired Aaron's Estates to professionally manage her estate sale. Having never organized an estate sale before, I relied on their experience and expected guidance, transparent communication, appropriate pricing practices and responsible handling of the property. Unfortunately, I experienced very little of that. Lack of communication and transparency: There was no walkthrough prior to the sale to discuss pricing, expectations, or strategy. I had no meaningful visibility into how items were valued, what adjustments were being made, or how the team planned to approach selling the larger pieces. When I raised this afterward, I was told that I should have asked more questions if I had them and that the company had no obligation to be transparent about its pricing decisions. I find that response especially troubling. The entire reason I hired professionals was because I lacked experience managing an estate sale. I expected proactive guidance, not the expectation that I should somehow know every question to ask. Pricing and handling of belongings: None of the furniture or larger items sold, leaving substantial inventory to be removed after the sale. While I understand that sales cannot be guaranteed, I had concerns about whether the pricing strategy was appropriate and why there had been no discussion before or during the sales. There were also concerns regarding broken items and merchandise offered for sale without being checked for functionality. When I questioned this, I was told the team didn't have the labor time to inspect every item before listing them. Financial outcome and value: The three-day sale generated approximately $5,000. Under the company's fee structure, Aaron's Estates retained approximately $4,725, leaving just $275 for the estate. I was proposed and paid an additional $1,800 for cleaning and removal. To be clear, I understand that no company can guarantee what buyers will purchase and my criticism is not that everything didn't sell. I fully understand that no company can guarantee what buyers will purchase. My concern is not the sales outcome itself, but the lack of professional guidance and accountability throughout the process and what level of value Aaron's estate brought to the table. Response to concerns: I attempted to discuss these issues directly and find a reasonable compromise. Unfortunately, the company was unwilling to make an adjustment or offer a meaningful resolution. What disappoints me most is not the amount of money generated by the sale. It is the lack of communication, support, and accountability throughout the experience. Estate sales often occur during incredibly difficult periods in people's lives. Families are trusting professionals with belongings that carry both financial and sentimental value. That responsibility should come with a commitment to transparency, care and customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Aaron's Estates. For anyone considering their services, I strongly encourage you to obtain written clarification of their fee structure, pricing and discount policies, item inspection procedures, communication expectations and clean-out costs before signing anything. I hired professionals to make an overwhelming process easier. Instead, I was left questioning what value their services provided at all.
