Clean, spacious, comfortable, great hospitality and superb location. We cannot say enough about what a wonderful stay we had at The Commodore Inn.

Wequassett has been for many years among the best properties I go to in the US (or internationally…read morefor that matter). Every single time we visited, the service has been impeccable and I find it hard to think about any other resort that can get even close to Wequassett. The grounds are perfectly kept and the rooms have been recently renovated. And although, there's a trend even with classic high-end resorts (St. Regis, J.W., Ritz-Carlton) to make their renovations a little too modern for my taste, Wequassett successfully kept their old school charm. We always stay at their Signature Water View King rooms (and book well in advance as there's only a few of these) so I can't speak of other room types. The amenities are flawless and even though the main pool gets VERY crowded during summer weekends, the pool attendant always found 2 chairs for us. My only recommendation for this property is to have a backup plan for the main pool. Perhaps installing a deck and adding some more chairs there to accommodate more guests that prefer the beach vs. the pool.

Guest service is so so poor…read more Stayed in Sweet Pea and the Mother Goose House. In Sweet Pea, the house Cleaning people were a little bit weird but they did keep things immaculate in the space. And Mother Goose there seem to be never ending problems with the house so we often had somebody fixing the air conditioner. Somebody fixing the upstairs toilet and somebody fixing whatever else was not working around the place. It didn't feel great to have maintenance people around as you're getting your hair and makeup done for a wedding. Did not feel chill bridal time at all. They speak very highly of their food, but they didn't have anything off of their menu that really impressed me. I tried the fresh cod, scallops, apple dessert, and Wagyu steak. Brandon and Angel are a total headache to deal with. We requested to have the gym open early for the day of my cousins wedding. Angel said yes to having the gym opened at 4:45am in the morning before the wedding. I was there waiting -Didn't happen. This pushed back my whole schedule on the wedding day. We asked to pay for the Mother Goose house as a wedding gift to the bride and groom - also didn't happen. I had to discuss the issue with Brandon. No discount no offers of any kind- mind you 3 nights is about 10K. Not cool at all. The wedding planner also seemed to have no idea what was going on with decisions, when speeches were going to be and where to set up the podium for the efficient. The main staff you speak with don't really seem to care and frankly just aren't the type of service you look for in a luxury resort . I'm an extensive traveler and would strongly recommend not to revisit this place. We also got coffee at Sill and couldn't find any place to sit down to drink our coffee and have a pastry. We even asked the host where we could sit and it was outside on wet chairs or in the lobby. The dining room was totally empty and asked if we could sit there and was denied. Also there isn't enough parking for guests. The working driving around on golf carts talking on their cell phones also felt a little scary. The Wequassett staff made a bad atmosphere for the guests paying a lot of money. It felt very unfair between the gym not being open on time to the disorganization of the wedding timeline to getting the bills confused.

The calamari app was delicious. We loved our bottle of white wine to share. Our server was attentive and the other wait staff was great. The brownie is pretty pricy but let me tell you...it is 100% worth it!! And the key lime pie is really one of the best we've ever had. The cobbler? Delicious! It's exactly at eye level so it blocks your view of the ocean. I'd recommend getting a high top near the window to make the most of your view. Then you'd be able to see the ocean.

"An ounce of pretension is worth a pound of manure."…read more The bizarre attitude I just experienced while trying to make a reservation for a nearly $3000.00 stay for 3 days at this property in the off season exemplifies this statement. We will be at The Cape for a milestone anniversary in May from the 7th thru the 10th and thought that the importance of the celebration warranted a little luxury. I am 5 years cancer free. The woman who I just spoke with on the phone after perusing their website was vapid - and that's being polite. I explained that this was an important anniversary and that I saw exactly the room that I wanted to stay in - and went on to describe a beige room with a fireplace, king bed and ceiling fan. This is not cheap mind you; it's nearly $1000 a night, in the off-season. Can't stress that enough. She said that she would be happy to take the reservation but couldn't guarantee the room. Not understanding I asked her if she could check and see if that room was already booked. She explained that it's first come, first served and room assignments are random. If that's the case why on earth post pictures of the rooms at all. That seems a little bait-and-switch to me. Still thinking that I wasn't quite understanding I said " I don't think I'm being clear. I would really like to stay in that room so if I'm calling today and paying for it in full, why can't I choose the room that I would like to stay in? This makes no sense to me." She went on to sweetly explain to me - in order to keep it "fair" for everyone, rooms are to be assigned at the time of check-in. I would love for somebody from this property to explain this to me in terms a five-year-old might understand because at nearly $3000 for three days in the off season 6 WEEKS IN ADVANCE I should be able to book whatever room is available. Unreal.

The rosé was poured into a plastic cup. The staff members were very friendly. I really adored my time on The Front Lawn on a weekday evening. When we arrived about 5:30pm, it wasn't too crowded yet but as it got later in the evening, groups of people started to appear. We relished our food and drink and played some lawn games. It was a slower weekend, likely because the on-site bar and restaurant aren't open for the season yet, and the weather was still a bit chilly. There are also a few houses available to rent and a pool house with a game room located across the street. The game room was a bit of a letdown--only the shuffleboard was usable, and we couldn't find paddles or pucks for air hockey or ping pong. It's possible you need to request them, but nothing was clearly indicated and we didn't end up asking about it.
